    Exactomondo.

I found myself listening to the same things over and over, loving this thread, so many things to wet the whistle.

Not too far from the Rhine.

Chances are I may have to do it a couple of more times this week….damn, damn, damn!

I’m sure Fat bikes would be good for this, but it’s definitely not boring on a Cross bike and it’s nice to jump on the roads to link things up and get a bit of a pace on.

You may have to stay with him during the lessons. I know our daughter was okay, but the boys who were similar age weren’t allowed to be left on their own in this particular ski school.

They will love it, but they do tend to get tired towards the end of the week.

I took ours swimming each afternoon as they were getting too knackered being on ski’s for the whole idea.

Our boys after they learnt the snow plough, realised that that slowed them down and decided straight down was much more fun.

If it’s just one child and you can ski, I’m sure you can shepherd him down. I sometimes see some people with a strap around the kids waist and the parent behind, so they let the kid go in front, but have control if they need to stop or something.

    Enjoy.

No brainer. I couldn’t believe the change in lifestyle and quality of life when I switched from a 45 min drive to a 10 min cycle. Spending half a working weeks worth of hours commuting is crazy.

    ^^ This.

I have a few more weeks left of doing a 120 KM round trip, normally around 40 to 50 minutes in a car to a 45 minute bike ride. Plus for more money and less expenses.

    Can’t wait!

    Nigerian folk. Trustworthy lot

    Good interest rates too!

I’d not heard of IPS’s, I’ll have a look into that.

I should add I do have a mortgage…but that’s on a property in Greece…so let’s just say I don’t fancy pumping any more money into that than I have to…I reckon the Nigerian’s fella’s might be a better bet than the Greek economy.

I notice there seems to be quite a few places to get tyres apart from the wiggles and chaingreactions of this World.

Any other sites people can recommend for tyres?

Is it a rim width issue?

Just real lack of choice, I’m in Switzerland so it’s a little limiting on what I can get my hands on in 27.5

    Anyone used these at all?

If you go to the Islands, or country side, you won’t see anything.

If there was trouble it was only in the very Centre of Athens (Or Perhaps Salonikia now and again).

And unless you are wearing something with Police on it you won’t have a problem even if it was kicking off…Although you have to watch the Rozzers, lot of dodgy knuckle scraper thugs in uniforms.

If the country went pop and defaulted I think things would be quite different.

Don’t be surprised to see the military step up.

mortgage in Swiss Francs as the rate was better a few years ago.

Oh yes…I know this feeling, my property in Greece was bought in this manner….although knowing sweet FA about Financial things I’m told I’m “hedged”. Being a financial refugee I moved to the land of Cheese a few years back. Able to pay mortgage directly in CHF and popping over the Rhine and Holidays back in Greece just got a whole lot cheaper 🙂

I’ll try and forget the part where my house in Greece is no longer worth the purchase price…ho humm.

A custom bike should be a better tool.
It can cost more, or less, but it’s not the point, the point is to ride.

    This ^^

I ride my CX bike all year around, I might not know much about geometry and different types of Steel, but I can see what works and what doesn’t work with regard to the “use ability” and durability of the bike.

Not only do I want something that looks a tad different, pretty, but is also up to the job I intend for it.

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply, work and life has been a tad busy of late.

Thanks for all the suggestions and food for thought.

This is very unlike me as I’m normally like a bull in a China shop, but for once I’m very much taking my time on research etc.

Think I’ll look at getting a CX which I can also use for road duties and bit of touring.

Although going bonkers on my full susser puts the biggest smile on my face, I do enjoy riding the cross, it’s a do it all bike which I could still see me enjoying in 20-30 years time (and hopefully more).

    Thanks again GL.

Any other devices around with console cables attached to them? Must be something lurking in a cabinet surely Shirly?

Few years ago I used to moan about how much stuff Cisco used to pack in the boxes that I used to end up throwing away….now….oh what I’d give for a spare couple of consoles cables 🙂

    Happy hunting.

Am I the only one reading this comment from the judge and thinking that if he’d done as the judge is presumably suggesting and reported it to the police that the police would have done nothing and scrote would have got away with it? All very well to describe the theoretical situation of him ending up in court, but how likely is that actually?

    My thoughts exactly.

Good few years ago I was stuck in traffic in Greenwich in the big smoke.

Saw one just drop out of an over having tree and land in the back of a convertible with the roof down.

Scared the living crap out of the woman driving, I sat there stunned for a moment, not believing my eyes.

OP, you are just a mere pup!

My “passion” wagon is a 7 seater S-Max…..and not even a half decent turbo diesel but a gutless 2.0 petrol engine….

…..with that said, I don’t give a crap about kids dropping food in it, standing on the seats when they get in and out or even the wife when she scratches it yet again in a tight parking space (thankfully walls/posts rather than other peoples cars)….

Just waiting for the herberts to get a bit older (and less feral) and I’ll look at a 5 series estate………hold on, that’s not very exciting either is it….oh that’s right, I’m an old fart now.

    Happy driving BTW.

Thankfully the police/agencies are aware of these sites and have people doing their best to track these weirdo’s down hopefully before they do any damage.

But I think I read a few weeks back about an ex copper in the states doing something similar and getting away with it as he hadn’t actually followed through (they caught him before he got a chance). Now that’s messed up letting him off…

In my eyes, keep them for the rest of their days in a secure mental hospital and never let them out. When people are this messed up they will never be right….

…or we could do an eye for an eye and eat him first….but I’ll skip the main thanks.

Yep, think we are moving towards the AIR BnB option, just a bit easier with the litte’uns.

Like the idea about bikes and load carriers. My 3 all ride, but they are bad enough crashing into each other, let alone when there are others about. Daughter is only 5 and the twin boys are 3.5 so their road awareness leaves a lot to be desired.

    Cheers peeps.
