Got the EXT Storia Lok on my G13. Only a few rides in but so far very pleased with it.

I have tried a few different offsets but usually it’s been combined with other differences in geometry so it’s hard to say if it does have much noticeable effect.

Would I would say is that it’s made buying forks slightly more complicated…

If anyone wants to try thicker grips I’ve a set of lightly used DeathGrips in Thick / Soft.

Troy Lee Designs Raid – used these for more heavy duty riding fro a while and they have protected me against rocks, bike frame, trees, shifters and brake levers….all while being comfy enough to pedal about in and staying in place as well or better than most pads I’ve tried.

I have one. It’s a very good bike but circumstances dictate that I’l probably be selling soon. STEALTH AD: XL 29er version: STEALTH AD.

Yeah I’ve definitely been hitting a few corners faster than ‘normal’ which has led to a few interesting moments!

    @chopchop – thanks!

Had a couple of short rides now. It climbs better than I expected. It descends better than I expected. I know Strava is not the be all and end all (don’t often use it) but it indicates I am substantially quicker down the hill despite not feeling faster!

The extra room up top is noticeable – I think its helped me ‘save’ a few times that I would definitely have been down on the other bike.

I didn’t know about this till I read the thread but I think that the posters on here might not be the target audience.

For you the climb might be easy enough but a family just out for a day biking might love 3 or 4 runs up in the bus and then a session at GoApe. Or a stag do that’s had a heavy night previously might fancy it. Or when you just fancy one more blast down but don’t have the kegs for another climb.

And then there’s all the folk that don’t want a more Gnarr uplift like Inners but just want to get lots of fast downhills in.

    Goodluck to them.

X-Longest. 160mm Lyric. -2* Angleset. EXT Storia Coil 148mm. DT240/XM481 Wheels, GX Eagle. It just about fits on my current bike rack too which is an unexpected bonus!

@rugbydick – thank you for that info! I think it looks like a decent spot so might give it a go. Cheers.

Was just thinking about entering this and looking into accommodation. Most likely I’ll be in a van ‘camping’ – Anyone used this place: http://www.blackwaterhostel.co.uk

I’ve got a set of barely used MT Trail Sport for sale if anyone’s thinking of them.

Aye Aboyne Bike Park or Tarland Trail are good for the little ones. If you wanna take them trail riding Cambus O May or Burn O Vat have a few shared use paths that signed and are good fun too. You also have the Deeside Way that runs along from Ballater to Aberdeen if you just want a flatish ride along with some cafes and Ice cream stops….

@chopchop and @singlespeedstu thanks for the pics. SSS – is there more space between the bikes on the ebike rack than on a ‘standard’ rack too?

    groundskeeperwilly

@singlespeedstu that sounds like a perfect match! My wheelbase will be longer again so looks like one of the few options available really. Let us know how you get on with it.

Should have an X-Longest G13 LT built up by the weekend but had a couple of quick questions in advance:

What size seat clamp does it use? Its a 30.9 post so 34.9mm clamp aye?

And what bike rack are folks going with for transporting X Longest G13/15/16’s? I am pretty sure it’ll be pushing the limit of the wheel supports on my Atera!!

Just come on to ask a similar question myself albeit in a different riding area.

What is the ‘best’ tyre for mixed conditions with lots of slick roots? Der Baron?

Also interested in this to protect the bike form the worst of the road spray in wet or winter BUT I use an Atera rack so the cover would need to incorporate the arms which hold the bike in place and I think It’s looking like a bit of a faff whichever cover I go for.

    @ryzman – no worries.

Looks like a nice build. Got most of the bits here for a G13 LT myself so hopefully be ready next week!

@ryzman – the frustration of photo sharing!!

When you view the picture in Flickr there are 4 options at the bottom right. The second one is a small arrow. If you click that a new box will appear with the options to share the photo. If you select the BB Code one and then copy the link shown in the box and paste it straight into a forum post that should work.

Anyone got much feedback on these or indeed want to sell their set?

    groundskeeperwilly

@ryzman if you’re using Flickr or similar you can just copy and past the BB Code I think. Get your pics up!

Ive been going with DHF 2.5 WT on the front and DHR2 2.3 DD rear for almost everything but recently been thinking about going Magic Mary Addix Soft Super Gravity both ends…. New GoodYear Newton looks interesting too.

Cheers folks – managed to pick up a good deal on some RockShox.

Wouldn’t it be great if shops had filters for boost/non boost and offset now that there are so many variations!

Knee pads are so personal! I’ve been through about 10 pairs this summer and keep going back to my old Troy Lee Raids…

Got some Dakine Skayers in XL worn once if anyone is looking….

Was in the same boat yesterday – apparently there’s no way to actually ‘call in’ to customer service. You are supposed to e-mail them and await a response.

    groundskeeperwilly

Yeah I should have put 44/46 in the title…. Same story there though and a lot of shops don’t actually even seem to realise there are different offsets on the go!

Might depend on which arm you guys are attacking! I know on mine the longest arm is removable – I fitted it as an aftermarket addition. The shortest one doesn’t seem to be removable. Might just be corroded tight though….

On my second Strada now and while I can sympathise on all the issues I’m not sure whats out there that is better at the moment?

Mine is a bit temperamental but its on the car most days and gets very little TLC!

My nu skool long and low bikes are really close to being too long for it now though…

Cheers guys. I thought that my chainring didn’t have it on for some reason but after some scrubbing there it was in tiny writing – 3mm!

    Thanks

    Cheers jonswhite,

I’m the same height and have been debating between Longest and X Longest….

Good to know on the rear shock and I like the idea of having 2 bikes in 1 much like you said.
