I’ve got an Atera Strada Towball mount and never had a problem with it.

alandavid you should be Ok in XL generally but the odd item might be on the small side….not 100% consistent in my experience.

I have done a few on various bikes:
Yeti ASR5-great for the link stages and pedally timed sections, a bit lightweight for steeper rougher stuff I thought.
Lapierre Zesty-good up and down, never really felt hampered by the bike.
Lapierre Spicy-took a little more out of me on link stages and flat/pedally sections but great fr downs.
Orange Patriot-poor up/link stages and great down/rocks etc

Is the On One bank vault full up? Can’t get through to the payment page to get a stem, saddle & post today. Anyone else having bother with giving them money?

    POSTED 9 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Also had this problem yesterday but wasn’t sure if it was on Ones problem or my dodgy internet connection! Maybe it saved me the money as I didn’t really need the frame or maybe it cost me the discount as I keep looking at the frame now even after the offer has expired…..

Had a Zesty and can back up a couple of GolfChick’s points-headset and BB didn’t last very long at all (Though it was a 2010/11 model so maybe these problems have been fixed)

Have to say I really enjoyed the bike while I had it. Loads of fun. Very fast downhill, gives lots of confidence. I thought the rear end was flexy BUT I do find this a problem in more frames than usual due to some excess bulk I’m carrying! New ones have 12mm rear axle which probably would rectify that problem.

    I’d also be keen on a 12mm rear axle…

Yes train/monorail is a better description than me saying it’s a roller coaster…

I don’t think it’s chairlift style-more like wee roller coaster type thing. See here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-20671467

Apple online store has none at all in white and only the larger capacity one in black. No more expected till Jan. Local Apple Store has none at all. I’m after a 16G White. Will try local Argos thanks.

Madison Tempests? I have had mine for a couple of years now. A bit cheaper than the majority of the others I found too.

    1. Worth looking at SRAM X9-not sure on pedal inserts but can run single bling ring, double or triple.
    2. Easton 35mm carbon bars? benefits of carbon, wide and very strong. Expensive though.
    3. Matching easton 35mm stem.
    4. MRP Bling ring? Renthal?
    5. Most are good. Superstar get mixed reviews. E13 works well for me as does various MRP’s.
    6. Hans Dampf? Conti Baron?

gooner666-aboyne nomads and 9zero freewheelers are both local groups who tend to go out Sundays. You’ll get them on Facebook.

I’m out past Dinnet and unfortunately I haven’t managed to get out with either group yet but have heard they are good bunches!

dirtyrider-looks nice to me. Hope you get on well with the XX1-full system should work well.

I have the Type 2 Mech already so thats covered, plus chain cassette etc are new so wear won’t be an issue for a while hopefully if I go down that route!

Bushwacked-he says: Want to be able to do decent length XC rides, dh runs, decent sized drops, gaps etc, jumpy stuff, and be able to handle Alps stuff fine.

I was thinking Titus El Guapo? Amazing Value from On One with reverb, CCDB Air etc

slinkybike-do you know how they are getting on with chain retention?

Margin Walker-I thought it was all or nothing too but if it’s not then it would work well for me.

Im sure one of the magazines had a 150/160 for long term test. MBR or MBUK…seemed to think it was good from what I read.

I think it’s probably worth paying a bit more for good ones. I have a load from £ shop type places and all are falling to bits. Especially at the handles if you lift them loaded up….

Sorry no recommendations on where to buy in Glasgow though….

I am looking for some pads too-stumbled on an old thread last night where a few folk were saying good things about the Nukeproof Pads.

Freeride_addict- what sort of standard of rider would you say this is aimed at? Could someone with a few years riding uk grade reds be ok or would it more suit the experienced rider with alpine experience? Talking about it with a few folk who fit these categories and along the scale in between!

If you really wanted to save weight you could try it but as druid h says its going to cost.
Lots of small weight saving will add up quickly.
E.g. Change the SLX crank and cassette for XTR or top end SRAM. Run 1 x 10 instead of a double? Carbon bars might save a few gms. Narrower tyres-say 2.3’s? Wheels-Stans Rims, American Classic Hubs could drop a bit. Tubeless? IS the rev a light fork (no idea myself!)-could you put something else on that saves 2-300g?

But might not be worth the £££.

Where are you based Mbnut? Cheap flight into Dublin and camp/cheap digs could equal patrol/diesel plus accom cost for driving to/staying at Inners? (Won’t be at any Irish rounds myself either though)

EDIT-also anyone know how much the inners ones will cost?

Yes! Absolutely can’t wait for these to open! Not far from where we are living and judging by the chat the trails should be good.

Having similar problems myself. Trying ergon grips at the moment but not feeling much better tbh! Not sure if flat wide bars or something with more sweep will be my next step! Any one reccomebd bars with more than usual sweep but not crazy like on one/h bars etc?

Trek Fuel-had tapered headset for a few years now. The newest ones (2013?) are 130mm travel but previous years are 120mm. Won a few bike of the year awards recently too.

Im running a short cage x9 with clutch on a 1 x 10 set up. I have a top guide on the chainring for security. Never list the chain yet and it’s nice and quiet. It’s also had no maintenance from me in the 6 weeks I’ve been running it and is still faultless!
