If I run a wider rim on these how will it affect the tyre clearance? Something like a 30mm wide carbon rim..

Cheers folks, 6ft2 myself though I do have a long body and short legs so the longer TT in theory shouldn’t prove much of an issue.

I do not own these but have just been looking into pads myself and want something light, comfy etc and think these will be the business – 7 iDP Covert Knee.

Saw lots of the EWS riders using them (who ride a lot harder than I do), you can ‘customise’ the padding and they look quite light and all day friendly.

Thanks boxelder – having done a bit more research I think the sizing will also be an issue for me so might look at other options.

Thanks for the input folks. I’ve run both Shimano and SRAM over the last few years so not really bothered about one brand over the other but like the look of the GX stuff and it has a good range as mentioned.

Was more worried that there might be some compromises made to get it to the price point.

njee20 – reason I want to get them fully built is that no-one round here wants to do the build. They’d rather sell me a set that they stock which is fair enough.

I’ve just been looking at these too in 27.5/650b size and had 2 questions which could also apply to your 26inch decision:
1) What’s the difference between the Switch Ultra Edition and the AM Carbon Wheelset? The Ultra Edition are significantly cheaper…
2) Is it likely another 25% off deal will come up any time soon?

Yeah I though that the quality would be decent! It’s the trail that I am looking at and it seems the most ‘normal’ according to what you’ve said.

I had them on my 26inch wheeled bike last winter but now I have a 27.5 wheeled bike. Only 1 bike here!
It’s a more sensible suggestion now realising my typing mistake!
