Using a Fox34 myself and think it is really good. had a Pike before but it was longer travel so not a like for like comparison.

TBH I do not think any of the forks mentioned are bad, it just comes down to your budget, personal preference and availability.

I’be been using a Magic Mary front and Hans Damp combo that has been OK.

Had an issue with the Hans on the rear so I’m looking at maybe trying a Minion DHR11 or Trail Boss on the back but my strange tyre ideas mean I would want to also change the front to match whatever brand the rear is…..

What rear tyre are you folks using? Particularly those with 2015 frames?

I’m getting lots of rub with a 2.3 Hans Damp and with an Ardent so I’ll have to experiment with something smaller….

I’ve been thinking that a water resistant pair might be better than a fully waterproof pair. Full waterproofs even if they are supposed to be breathable ten to get wet on the inside for me.

Have even been looking at something like the new Fox DH pants that are supposed to be water resistant rather than ‘proof…

Hi bigjim – aye thats part of it but I’m also after a really good pedal as my current ones are in a bad way.

Thought it worth looking at the thin options as it would hopefully lead me to a great new set that may give a few mm more clearance.

I know it’s only a few mm but every little helps as they say!

How thin is really thin?

I’m looking at the 14/12/10mm bracket to be honest so the likes of nano’s or other similar/same pedals are not on the radar at the moment. I do have some ‘Fatties Flatties’ which are decent but fancy something thinner and there seems to be plenty of options albeit not many with positive feedback!

Thats really the first positive feedback I’ve seen on ‘thinner’ pedals so race face just moved up a notch!

As far as I can tell, they have just moved to a forged body. Still use loads of silly little bearings which dont last. Your money bro.

Good to know – I though they had covered the spindle and improved bearings etc but as no-one has their hands on them yet anyway may not be true!

I’m really looking for as thin as possible this time, I know some folk have had issues with the size/shape/position/reliability of the larger inboard bearings but I’m willing to give it a go!

Yeah I am looking for 170m cranks and some thin profile flat pedals to try an minimise it but as you say that is the price you pay for the low BB.
