Anyone got a delivery date yet. My pro race large just states available from
25th Feb. Need it for march as don’t think I will hold up too well on my hardtail at BPW trip
    I have coming up.

Johnogroats you will loose some Pop-ability but this will compensated by the confidence it will give you hitting the bigger stuff. Mate has one and loves it. Too small for me so not riden properly. I’ve just ordered a pro race last night so very excited. I mainly ride trail centres with the odd Alps trip.

+1 for Burd Zero. Amazing spec for the price.

Lee170 I rode it for the first time clipped in for 3 years and kept up with my mate on his YT Capra so was really impressed especially as I’m shite .

I was also looking at the SC and the orange but in the end I went for a Bird Zero 1. Took it to hamsterley on the black and red on Sunday and handled everything just as well as my SC Bronson (all be it a bit harsher on the rock gardens). Full XT spec / shimano Zee, race face finishing kit stealth dropper and RS revelation fork for £1500. Looks awesome too. Worth a look…

I cannot recommend the Inno roof carrier enough. You can get them through the Roof Box Company. Not cheap but they hold via the tyres so no danger of frame damage. They are also incredibly secure.

Rosss what a f**ckin great plan. Think I may copy you with that. Swapping the kit from the capra pro race to a nomad if the sizing doesn’t work out would make one hell of a well specced nomad for the price of the x1 model. Shame YT haven’t listed their new bikes yet. Bet there’s a hell of a delay ordering aswell now that they are distributing to the US etc

Insured it through Protect your Bubble. Insured for £5500 before I added the ccdb and got a pay out of £5450. Not bad all in all. Technically lost the cost of the ccdb but had a year in it. Massive ball ache to deal with as a company though. Tried to wrestle out of paying but had every box ticked in terms of proof and security measures.

Kimbers thanks for the info on sizing. I was steering towards Nomad because of the increased reach over the Bronson.

Yorkycsl – specced my bronson myself with the 160 pikes and a ccdb air cs from the start. It was amazing but I did feel on steep terrain (alps etc) it needed to be slacker and have more rear end travel. I also always felt I was riding on the bike. For me a slightly lower bb and geometry of the Capra or nomad would be ideal. To be honest I would not even be questioning this and would be happy with the Bronson but as some low life knicked it and I have to replace, it has got me thinking.

Lots to ponder. Going to try my mates capra in hamsterley tomorrow (I’ll be on the hardtail – should be fun) and then have another demo of the Nomad with Stif..

In in a dilemma (all be it not a bad one). I have had insurance pay out on my Bronson Carbon and have 2 routes to take.

    1. Wait for the new Capras to be released and order what will probably be an undersized bike (I am non on 6 ft and my last Bronson was an XL and fitted well). It will
However be more playful. My mate has a 2014 so I will be able to demo. This route will leave me with £2500 change to make the wife happy or buy some carbon wheels and a trip to the alps.

    2. Buy an XO1 spec Nomad which I love (or the Economad) and have a lesser speced bike and zero change.

    What do I do…

Take a look at the Bird Zero 3. Just bought a Zero 1 in blue. Stunning bike and great spec for money. Pretty burly build too. Think the zero 3 is £995

I’d also be interested in routes near Knaresborough. Literally waiting for the removal men as we move there today. First thing I intend to do before unpacking is head out to explore.

Have you considered sutton bank. Midway between York and Leeds (well sort of). Great riding when it is dry….

They sent me an order for a guy in France. Rang them up to let them know and have ended up with my order shipped twice. Now the proud owner of a spare set of XT trail
    Pedals and some SPD boots…

I got my settings from the cane creek forum (on cc website) . Section specific for bronson. Also worth speaking to the Guys a TF tuned. They sent me Santa Cruz tested recommendations. Don’t have them anymore though as the bike was stolen before Xmas.

Out of interest what height and what size did you get Gary. I am a smudge over 6ft and have ordered large – being built today.

IMO you are best going hard tail for what you have described and you will get a far better spec HT than FS for £1300. The Bird zero is a great option. They are offering 10% discount until 1st Jan aswell. I have just ordered a zero 1 with fork upgrade for a snip over 1400. You could get the zero 2 and a reverb dropper for your budget.

Worth a shot. Did you just drill a larger hole in the hitch? If so does the maxle get enough thread purchase as the hitch would leave it proud?

My justification is having my 2 bikes stolen before Christmas and so when the insurance company finally pays out I can spend spend spend….

Head up moor road/Lane. Turn right and head towards otley chevin car park. Can do a loop around the chevin on the bridle ways and there are a few cheeky little descents you can mess around with on the way around. There are bridleways that link guise lye to the chevin but no idea of which ones to take,

Exactly the same situation as me. mate has just ordered the Capra pro so will see how his is when it arrives in Jan. I’m going to wait to see if YT launch a new spec in the new year. Hearing they will by end of Jan although likely to only be a colour change….

Good heads up. I am about to order a Zero 1 or 2. Not demo’d yet so buying blind. Great reviews and cannot beat the spec for the price….

Looking at ordering either a Nomad or a Capra Pro to replace my stolen Bronson. I am leaning towards to Capra as the spec is superior and I would save myself about £3k. My only issue is that I hate white frames….. Does anybody know any details of the 2015 model. If there are colour changes I may hang fire.

I am also looking for a new HT and am considering the 905 aswell. Currently leaning towards the Bird Zero 1 though. Same price but awesome spec for the money (save a load as it direct purchase), UK built and awesome write ups…

Looking forward their how you get on. Based on the fact that I have a blue camelback and a couple of blue jerseys, I would have to opt for a blue frame – you have to look coordinated, it makes yo ride better….. Get the issue with black forks though…..

What colour Bird did you go for Gary. The guys at bird said the blue looks amazing up close . Apparently painted in the same factory as Santa Cruz….

Spooky. Just had both my bikes knicked (Bronson and a Zesty). Looking to replace the zesty with a hardtail as that will be better with the trailer. Will be in touch when I move over. Exchange on tracts next week all being well…
