Had a 55 plate 1.2 petrol for 5 trouble free years.
Surprisingly capable off road and also great in city traffic. Well out of its depth on motorways as you’d expect.

Not entirely sure how different the new ones are compared to the previous model, but if it fits your requirements then go for it. I’ve found Fiats a lot more reliable than the stereotype suggests!

    24hr solo 🙄
I’ll be racing riding around slowly in a Revel Outdoors jersey.

We’ve a team making a go at it too. They’ll be going a lot faster than me unless something is seriously wrong.

I was in the same boat, and then I raised a dispute via Paypal.

Got a prompt reply from Works and the chainring arrived a day later! 😀

I’ve had success with ghetto tubeless. Great on thorn riddled bridleways.
Fails miserably with flints 😥 but that’s down to the paper thin sidewalks rather than the tubeless bodge…

…and when it does actually seat, I’ve found that its just too thin to seal any punctures.

    Gone back to Stans.

    You’ll be fine.

The mud provides all the cushion you’ll ever need 😀

Growing problem at all events now I find.

Running 1×10 on a hardtail with XT clutch mech, MRP chainring and no guide.

Ride around Thetford, so not exactly hammering any downhills, but I’ve not once dropped the chain.

I do have a Works Components XX1 style ring on order to give some extra security though.

Just back from Thetford and happy to report that the trails are in good shape.
Nothing to worry about on the red route and only a few puddles off-piste 😀

Uberbike Compnents BB is standing up very well on my muddy weather hardtail.

    I’m 5,10 and have a large F29. Fits me perfectly 8)

Tried a medium and found the positioning a little too ‘sit up and beg’ for my liking.

Stumbled across this myself just the other day… Doesnt seem to be much info on it out there.

I think it uses the same course as the old Set2Rise event, so hilly but not techy.

If your local friendly cycle merchant is a Cannondale dealer, pop in and see if they have any.
I managed to get one cheap that had been swapped out on a new build bike for a customer.

    MrTall – I’m 11.5st.

I hovered over the buy button of a Hongfu frame for a while, but the reassurance of having a UK contact should anything go wrong was well worth the extra cost.

As Brant mentions above, it seems an odd place to fail and without any engineering experience I wouldn’t wish to speculate as to why it failed. But these things can happen to any brand, it’s how they support you afterwards that matters.

I’d still recommend this frame to anyone as it builds up into a fantastic bike.

Another recent Dirty Harry owner over here.

Built it up, felt light stiff and fast. And according to my back, it is also more forgiving than my old Niner EMD. Very happy bunny.

A few rides later and the “oh yes, this thing is fast” feeling was still there.

I’m now on frame no. 2 after my first frame developed a crack in the seatstay/seat-tube area. Planet-X were great to deal with and sorted out a replacement in no time at all.

I’ve had one for 8 months.
The device itself is good and robust but the entire package is let down by the woeful web interface you have to use.
I’ve tried to up,ad routes to it but nearly always get any error.

Until Bryton actually improve this, I would still reccomend a Garmin.

As for accuracy, compared to my friends who all use Garmin devices, the Bryton seems to underead on distance and elevation slightly.

On the plus side though, battery life is amazing. 24 hour rides are no problem.

Great race, super course and organisation and the weather was fantastic.

Best of all was the ice cream van waiting at the finish line 😀

Another vote for the Bontrager Evoke.
Used to have a Charge Spoon and had some serious pain in the ahem, crown jewels…
No problems at all with the Bonty.

I bought a Cube Cross Race in the winter and rode it along local muddy trails (Thetford flatlands) and even had a go at a local cx race.

It’s not now shod with slicks and has completed two 100 mile sportives without any complaints.
My road bike has sat neglected ever since the crosser arrived!

It’s a good workout. If you like free speed, it won’t appeal but if you like your trails to be more XC and like to get your legs burning then you will have a good time.

If you have the time, get an OS map and venture out on the Moors and back 🙂
There are quite a few good loops you can put together.

I use a non LT Tallboy C for XC, endurance races and big rides out in the Yorkshire Moors.
Has all the travel I need with 120mm forks, actually thinking of dropping them down to 100mm.

Climbs very well and soaks up the bumps. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned and really flatters a scruffy old rider like myself!

If you like to keep your wheels on the ground, rather than fly through the air, the standard Tallboy is more than capable.

I emailed Hope and they posted some circlips out to me the following day FOC.

Not a Nomad but I got a Mobi for Christmas and have used it almost every weekend.
I honestly thought it was a gimmick at first but after trying it out, it’s now invaluable.

The missus has also found it useful for washing down her horse at events 😐

Would recommend one to anyone. Great bit if kit.

I spend a lot of time on rigid forks, so any bouncy fork is a refreshing change.
Couldn’t notice any difference between Recon Gold and a Fox 32.

My Recons are a year old now and haven’t given me any problems in that time. And they’ve had a fair few miles of race abuse.

Bargain bike and great fun to boot.

Competed in the Thetford Winter Series with mine. Didn’t frighten the top riders, but was a great ride nonetheless.

Have a search on here, there was a thread a while back about them and how bad the brakes are.
Yes. You’ll want to upgrade the brakes 😉

Horrific conditions at Thetford today. The organisers ordered in Mountain Mayhem’s weather!
The Beavers cut through it and found grip where others struggled. Punctures were frequent though, and the paper thin sidewalls don’t stand much. I’ve wrecked a new one already…

And the Cannondale? Marvellous. After 4 hours, my arms are not at all beat up. I thought that rigid fork would be a real bruiser but not so.
Bottom bracket is a mud magnet though.

    Another Trail owner checking in.

Binned the brakes as soon as I got it home! Shed more weight than I expected by ditching the standard tyres for Beavers. I’ve also swapped the bars for something flat and unfashionably narrow.

Giving it a proper test in the 4 hour race at the Thetford Winter Series tomorrow.
Post race I might change my tune, but right now I think it’s an amazingly great value and an excellent ride to boot.

Running Exotic 465mm on an Inbred.
Previously had a set of 26″ On One rigids, and much prefer the more laid back riding position the bigger forks have given me.

Unloaded my car this morning, seem to have brought back a few tons of Catton mud with me.

The course, atmosphere and fellow riders were all awesome.
Amazed me how much the course changed when the rain came. The event then became a challenge of the mind for me.

Big thanks to the kind rider who gave me a magic link out on course. Without your help I’d still be out there sobbing in the woods.

    Condition reports sound promising.
I’ve just wrestled a set of Aspens off my rims and slapped on some knobbly Beavers (phnaar).

I had a 1:1 in May and found I learnt a serious amount from it. Steve is a very patient and chilled instructor and will happily go over and over something with you until you’re 100% happy.

I came away a lot more confident in my riding from that course. Still cant manual for toffee though!

No, the Hope tape isn’t tubeless.

Peel it off and stick some Stan’s yellow tape in there.

Got a couple of glueless patches on mine, they’ve done the trick.
Just a matter of making sure the area is clean and dry before sticking it on.
