Not sure if it will fit but I’d be inclined to fit 150mm thick Kingspan insulation on Visqueen with a 75mm screed on top.

And don’t forget the under-floor heating pipes 🙂

If the concrete is sound and not damp self leveling compound is good. Go for the slightly more expensive 2 part Stopgap latex based stuff rather than water based. Also very important to prime the old concrete first (stopgap p131 best i have found)

Can’t go wrong with an old Weiheauch. I bought a HW35 from new 30 years agoe and sill going strong, fitted a scope a couple of years back instead of the open sights and it is as good as any modern springer. In fact i think i prefer it to my modern 10 shot pre-charged air arms.

Be careful buying used air rifles off the internet as scamming seems to be an epidemic in that particular field. If you do best to do a face to face if poss rather than through the post. Also some used air rifles get tuned to over 12 ftlbs which classifies it as a firearm in the eyes of the law.

A lot of nice ones here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/forum/99-guns-and-rifles/

As far as fitting tools, if you’re a proper man and you own a load of sockets, they’re just as good as the Hope tools

Yep got a shed load of sockets, work well for frame bearing so had kind of planned to use them on the hub as well.

Also, using the proper installation bushings makes installation a doddle

Do you need a puller to get the old ones out or can they be pushed out with bushings?

What are you lot doing with all these lovely chemicals when you’ve enriched them with chain gunk?

Petrol in a pop bottle-use it over & over, grit & gunk settles on the bottom and if it gets too much pour the petrol off the top into another bottle….or ever needed something to light that bonfire…. 😉

Couple of inches of petrol in a 2Litre pop bottle. Drop chain in, put lid on, shake like billio for 30 seconds, fish chain out and re-fit, re-lube with chain lube of preference. Keep the dirty petrol in the bottle for next time.

If you have a fast link in your chain the whole thing can be done in a couple of minutes.

JB weld is about the best, but needs best part of 24hrs to fully cure so probably not worth the effort given you will need to replace it anyway.

Old guy near me lived in a shipping container for 15 years or more. Fitted windows & door. Not short of cash, just some kind of protest at being refused planning permission for a house or something like that. Refused all help from social services/ authority thinking he had been let down by them. A bit sad really.

I go to the local vet and they do a feed kit consisting of large syringe & rubber tubing basically the same as a bleed kit for hydrological brakes except it is less than £3! Works perfectly 🙂

Just leave appropriate negative feed back and move on. I assume he won’t have 100% rating anyway with an attitude like that but at least it will help warn other potential customers.

I don’t want to give the forks back as it was still a reasonably good deal. They must know this too so would presumably just ask for a return and refund if push came to shove. I can’t have it both ways I guess so they can just ignore the receipt issue knowing full well I want to keep the fork for the decent price…

Even if you raise a claim and it doesn’t have the desired effect of jolting them into action you can just close it at any point.

You only have limited time to raise a claim (45 days i think)so don’t think about it too long. Likewise you only have limited time to leave feedback and i think if you raise a claim you are blocked from leaving negative feedback so do it in the right order.

Needless to say if you tamper with the forks eg remove the damaged decals ebay will throw the case out.

Be aware of how much they extend the length of the car by. Makes it a pane to park in an ordinary parking space.

Also even if a tilt one make sure it still allows you to open the boot.

I had one on my espace and the boot wouldn’t quite clear to open and the additional length was not good on an already big car. Got rid of it and now have the one specifically made for the espace that bolts into the roof rail track and sits on the back bumper, bikes still at the back of the car but far higher up and closer to the car so not the same issue with all that extra length sticking out and bouncing around.

My oldest boy went straight into pedals at 5yrs and middle one at 3 1/2yrs with no balance bike. Although they kind of used the bike like a balance bike to start with, just pushing along with their legs and coasting.

Their younger sister had a balance bike from age 2 1/2yrs and straight into pedals at 3 yrs but that was likely down to just doing everything her older brothers did and also the ready access to small bikes with pedals.

She was the most fearless of the three and gave older brothers a run for their money. So would say the sooner they get onto pedals the more confidence and skill on a bike they build early in life.

Spend a week in April every year at Tommich Holidays. Just park the car there and it never shifts all week. There are fire tracks that cut from there across the the south side of loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin and loch Affric. You can cycle all week without your tires ever touching tarmac! The whole area is stunning and awsome for mountain biking at all levels. Find new single track every time we go, definitely best week of the year for me.

He should have opened a case and got a refund straight away

I now know that now and won’t get caught out a second time. Seemed a simple thing “try a set of brushes” not exactly rocket science and instructed by the seller so never thought twice. He even offered to supply me with a set.

I would agree with Junkyard he knew what he was doing!

Seems there is a number of canny sellers and buyers who know how to exploit ebay rulings

And on the subject of feedback, the really annoying thing is as i opened a case i am blocked from leaving negative for the guy who is sitting there with 100% rating and will likely con some other unsuspecting punter.

ebay will side with buyer even if i make it up that it was broken or that I did not get it

I recently bought a used makita belt sander, supposedly fully working order…is wasn’t. Contacted seller who said check the brushes, so i did and replaced them, still no good. Seller said would refund but could not do so with paypal…. give him my bank details and he would do so direct.

Sounded dodgy so i raised a case thinking customer support would come to my rescue and get my money back….what a joke! They decided in the sellers favor because of the new brushes i put in, the sander was no longer in the state i received it in and they decided against me and closed the case. Left Me £85 out of pocket.

Once sellers were unable to give negative feedback to buyers the whole thing has become pointless

Ebay used to be realy good but recently would agree it has gone way down hill. Fees/commission have gone up and service has gone way down.

Ever used or should i say tried to use customer service recently? It is a joke! Round and round in circles and still cant get through.

Problem with a carbon is oil/wd40/plusgass etc tends to expand the resin binder and makes it worse. I assume corrosion/oxidization of the aluminum frame has caused the two to stick. Ammonia dissolves aluminum oxide, used to be able to buy it from the chemist if not a drain cleaner with ammonia as a base should work. It won’t penetrate as well as oil so best to take the seat off and tun it upside down and soak it overnight or longer in a jar of it.

Another thing to try is to turn the seat post into a puller. Slacken off the seat cut a couple of bits of plate/bar to fit tight between the seat rails and the top edge of the frame seat tube then tighten up the seat, the rails will push down on the frame tube and may break the seal.

If red & black is for you then Wild Cat trails, Golspie are well worth a trip further north, would say it is my favorite of all time, a class above any other trail center i have ridden. Wolf Tracks at Laggan on the way back south. If you have an extra day then via the new uplift red track at Fort William.

Thanks guys, done the lower fork leg service now, and it is running nice and smooth.

Not sure the platform setting still may need attention. Hits the platform alright but seems to continue throug it all be it at a reduced rate.

Still would be keen on any PDF’S or info on the internal workings.

    Cheers
