Where is your hotel – east of the pier/ west of the pier?

If you are east/ kemptown side then plenty of parking options not too far away, just head inland around the Hanover area

What kind of food do you want to eat ? are you looking for a pub or a bar? I can help with a pub, with a bar not so much

I’m not really up on modern amps

If we are in dream amp world then a 60s blackface fender deleuxe reverb

My understanding is that the official word is to avoid using clingfilm where it’ll be in direct contact with the food.

back in the day maybe – pretty sure modern clingfilm is fine

a vintage 60s strat in sonic blue – as modelled here by John Lennon

I have a mexican classic player 60s strat in sonic blue – but if we are talking dream guitars I’d get the real thing

Yep – reckon the last 2 episodes are going to be huge

Definitely going to rewatch the whole thing after the season is done

I love the fact that subsequent seasons will feature different plot, setting and characters – it means anything could happen to any of the characters in this season

    As andylc says

I can do the levitation too – Blaine uses camera tricks on tv as the illusion would look rubbish on tv

    Derren Brown[/url]

I know it’s all a trick, I have no problem with that

My beef is with TV magic that claims to be done “in camera” but actually uses special effects / editing etc

Both Derren Brown and David Blaine are guilty of this

    grievoustim

I’m only really familiar with David Blaine, but I’m afraid even the slightest digging reveales that there isn’t a huge amount to his tricks

Many of his street illusions can be bought online. They are just simple props

When he levitates in his tv special (the one that made him famous) – he was hoisted up by a crane, and the hoist thing was removed in the editing suite

Magic is disappointed if you start digging

And don’t get me started on derren brown (gets v cross just thinking about the lottery numbers thing)

I have just gone from 3 mountain bikes (soul, heckler fs and love/ hate ss)to 2

    A Solaris and a soul

Solaris will be riden through the winter (no more ss), and get used for weekends away etc (no more heckler)

Depending on which bike I end up preferring day to day there is a good chance the soul will be relegated to “spare” bike, but we’ll see. I like the idea of having just one MTB I ride all the time

It’s early days but with 120mm x fusion slides the Solaris has a similar unstoppable feel as the heckler when rolling fast – only without the weight

I don’t particularly like football – but the phrase “wendy ball” makes my tummy hurt

seriously – are people still riding Stanmer right now? I rode through this morninig, and opted to stay off the singletrack

Surely it needs a bit of a rest to recover and dry out after the winter we’ve had?

smoked BBQ beef short rib burnt ends roll with green hot sauce, slaw and pickled beetroot

    Oreo brownie

All from Street Diner in Brighton – I love friday lunchtimes.

May not go down so well with the pulled pork haters

I’d love to hear a few examples from the dreamy rule breakers (beyond minor traffic infractions and riding on footpaths)

I don’t mean saddle height, more as in one bike has a slacker seat tube than the other so I am in a position further behind the cranks where as the other I am more directly over the top of them.

push the saddle forward? switch to an inline seatpost if you don’t already have one?

Thanks everyone – I feel better now

Levers are always run as loose as possible anyway

Hilldodger – the bike fits perfectly. I’m just playing with bar height to see what works best for me. I’ve not ridden the bike at this height yet so the bars could go back up. I just want to keep my options open

I always go to the Brighton Street Diner on friday lunchtimes – it’s an open air street food market thing

which usually means a huge burger or a bun full of BBQ meat, slaw and a giant pickle, followed by a chocolate brownie

Not this week though as I’m working from home awaiting a delivery – and it’s been called off anyway cos of the wind

…. As I have a new frame due for delivery

This evening the GF and I shall be consuming the last bottle of Prosecco left over from Christmas and going to see the Parquet Courts (booked ages ago with no realisation it was on valentines day)

I’m also watching True Detective (its going to be on Sky Atlantic in the UK, so … you know what to do) – it is looking to be great stuff

apparently each season will be a new story with a different cast

McConaghy is so good – if you want to see other recent stuff he’s great in then try Killer Joe and Mud.

Mcvities choc digestives when they are on special for £1 (which seems to be quite a lot)

God knows how many calories per pack – but I can’t resist the thrifty goodness and always polish off the whole pack in an evening

On Sunday I had what was basically a hipster sausage and egg mcmuffin for breakfast.

High quality sausage patty, perfect poached egg and mustardy sauce in a brioche bun. With a perfect flat white

Reckon I could eat one of them daily for a very long time

I also now ensure that I’m never included in organising family events between my wife, my sister and my mum because if something ever goes wrong (and invariably it does), they all blame me.
But, by your own logic, will it not still be your fault anyway even if you are not involved in organising it?

yep – it will be your fault because you didn’t do anything to help

some great choices – but for me this is the greatest 3 minutes ever committed to a 7 inch piece of vinyl. Music, Lyric – incredible incredible arrangement/ production (that tambourine shake during the intro)

Marvin Gaye – heard it through the grapevine

thanks to buying 1st house in 98 (baby on the way, wouldn’t have considered it otherwise as was still in early 20s), and inheriting money from grandparents I was close, so very close to being mortgage free

Then I got divorced – now I have a big mortgage all to myself

still get grumpy thinking about it
