The original ones had a mech hanger

I’ve got a spare medium frame in orange (with the hanger) if anyone’s after one

where do you stick your tube, pump, multitool, phone, tyre levers?

    Jersey pockets

Still plenty of people using them

My only gripe with my new frame is that it only has one set – and I wouldn’t buy a frame that didn’t have at least one pair

As for progression – certainly in IT if you only ever want to work your contracted hours, have no interest in the subject and no desire to learn anything new then you’re probably doomed to a life of 1st line helpdesk work. If you’re happy with that, then great – plenty of people seem happy to spend their entire career behind a till in a supermarket.

Why do people keep assuming working your contacted hours = no interest in job

I stick to my hours (frequently work late, but take time on lieu) and have advanced just fine because I’m good at my job

IMO if you are on a salary there is really on such concept as contracted hours

Of course there is – I’m on a salary and am contracted to work 35 hours a week

    Only mugs do extra.

    “Invitations” to buy one

I was interested until I read that, now I just feel grumpy

Warning – my Cambridge amp has an input / switch marked as phono

    It doesn’t actually have a phono stage though – I still need a pre-amp

The manual confirmed it – but of course I didn’t check that until after I got my turntable

I wouldn’t consider the Mach trails – as mentioned above no fun for an 8 year old

Climachx is not suitable either – long climbs for a little one – and the final descent has switchbacks with consequences if messed up. Unless your kid is already used to riding such things it would be intimidating I think. My kids are older and I wouldn’t take them to it personally.

I would recommend Coed Y Brenin – the new new Blue trails (Minotaur?) and Skills area are great for kids – the blue trails have multiple options to turn back to the centre so you can never get too far away really.

Elastica, Kenickie, Lush, Echobelly, which, to use your point, aren’t really Britpop, rarely get played even on 6Music, sadly.

Of course all those were bands were Britpop. It wasn’t a “sound” – it was a period when lots of British guitar bands suddenly got signed, got in the top 40 and got featured on the cover of magazines.

I did something similar the other day

Anchovie got me home, repaired with a puncture patch on the inside and some super glue on the outside

Compliance and Capt Phillips are both excellent

Only God Forgives is the very definition of a marmite film – I quite liked it, but I can’t see myself watching it again, whilst I’ve watched Drive several times

It’s interesting when you ride with someone slower than you (and you are consciously trying to match their speed)

Climbing becomes much much “easier” – obvious maybe but I think that proves how much more inclined you are to push the effort when you are climbing

The threads should be in your adaptor, not in the frame

It’s a standard mount – nothing odd about it

I have 160 mm slx brakes on mine – and just use the standard adaptor that came with the brakes

I don’t think Hugh Grant has ever hidden anything either – just because you aren’t broadcasting the details of your lifestyle doesn’t mean you are hiding it either

And if you meant the call girl – he didn’t have a chance to hide anything, he got caught straight away!

Only justification for that kind of intrusion is hypocrisy – e.g. John Major speaking about family values whilst sleeping with the egg lady

Not the worst journey ever but I got stuck on a massive jam on a hot day travelling south on the m23

There was an ice cream van stuck in the same queue which opened up for business

The Spanish girl at work thinks combining chicken and chorizo is weird

The spanish stew I’m cooking today only contains chorizo, red onion, butter beans, tin of toms, garlic and smoked paprika

    Keep it simple

There is something about those spacious, big budget 80s productions that sounds good right now -bit of an antidote to the heavily compressed, recorded on a computer music of today

I’m in Brighton and have a large heckler frame for sale (plus some other bits)

Haven’t got round to putting it on the classifieds yet – looking for £250

The War on drugs song is produced like an early 80s Springsteen song – specifically the reverb on the “whoops” sounds like the Badlands album

It’s a good album if you like that sort of thing

Also had a delicious smoked porter recently , can’t remember the brewer though, oh well.

sodding man bags and tips for washing your hipster jeans
I didn’t see a single mention of man-bags or hipster jeans in his spiel… are you sure you actually read what he had to say?

I suppose he’s on the right track

Magazines need advertising – and need a readership who like buying things

Men like buying things – but maybe not quite the same things GQ is selling

I would say the target market is very much IT desk jockies – just slightly older ones with kids

Real beard and axe men don’t buy magazines or £200 jeans

    Yes

As long as you have the syringe to get the sealant in, no need to unseat the tyre

At some point you might want to remove the tyres and get rid of excess dried up sealant , but I usually wait until I’m changing tyres anyway

Just come from 1×9 with a superstar chain device on my soul to 1×10 with clutch mech and thick/ thin on my new Solaris

The cheaper 1×9 option works fine – harder to set up the guide in the right place and if the chain does come off things can get jammed up

Thick thin and clutch is a lot better – but your cheaper option will be fine too

Evening Star is gopping unless you want to die from overhopped beer , go to the next one South that I’m always too drunk to remember the name of. This is a GOOD THING.

Or if you prefer a less hoppy beer you could ask one of the bar staff to recommend one from the many they have

    grievoustim
    Free Member

Well if you like real ale/ craft beer then both the Evening Star and the Craft Beer Co are fantastic- both have a huge array of draft cask and keg beer to choose from

    For food

    Giggling Squid for Thai
    The Coal Shed for steak
    The Chilli Pickle for Indian
For burgers and stuff the New Club

I’ve yet to go, but 64 Degrees is meant to be proper amazing

For fish – riddle and Finns or fishy fishy

All of those restaurants will probably need to be booked in advance (except for riddle and Finns who don’t take bookings)
