Take the points, then what? Find out later the car was in a hit and run 10mins earlier. What’s that Mr skiprat? You never mowed down a pedestrian? But we have this document on file that you admitted to driving the car?

mmmm good starting point for a modern noir crime thriller there

Ive eaten in the Italian one in brighton a couple of times (paid for by work both times)

It’s fine – but if it’s my money there are other places I would rather go to

My battery cut out on the 2nd ride with no warning

I got a replacement from MTBbatteries and all good so far – main thing for me is knowing if there is a problem that it will be sorted by a UK based company

Still using the original charger – seems slow but OK apart from that

I never realised this was such a huge bone of contention on here, admittedly I should have realised that everything is.

    It’s not about pro/ anti/ helmet opinions

It’s about the way stories are reported and commented on by the mainstream media (and people on here it seems who should know better)

The narrative we get is “person knocked off bike in an accident, killed due to failure to wear a helmet”

    when it should be

“person knocked off bike by a another person driving a car and killed”

the helmet debate is an unhelpful distraction from the real issues

You’ll be fine – there is nothing at Afan that can’t be rolled/ ridden round. And nothing very big or scary in the first place

And yes the black is optional and easily avoided

I liked the new trail at cwmcarn too!

Maybe I’m easily pleased. It was on a lovely hot day and the whole trail was bone dry – I can imagine some sections being a slog in the wet

I enjoyed it. Made a nice change to the other stuff at Afan. Final rocky descent is great

Ewan – you only need one lawyer, don’t remember if it was in one name or join names but as long as you have both agreed to the settlement it doesn’t matter

Muzz – we also had a separation agreement, and used it as the basis for the consent order. But you still need to get a solicitor to draw you one up as it’s a different document

You don’t actually have to get a consent order to get divorced – but if you don’t you are open to future money hassles

    grievoustim

    As mentioned above

Wikivorce/ govt website. – follow the steps

Hire a solicitor to draw up the consent order (I got one via wikivorce)

It takes way longer than you might think – and can be a ballache – but definatelty worth it of you can come to an agreement and avoid having a solicitor each

It’s definitely a change. No tears when primary school finished for me and my peers – just excitement

But for both my daughters there seemed to be an expectation that there would be tears at the end of primary

I don’t see anything wrong with genuine emotion – but it did all feel a little forced to me

    Ah can I join in.

Felt like death yesterday. Same today

Got work to finish today, and off to latitude festival tomorrow. I need to get better right now!

Tad biased as my mk1 frame is on the classifieds now

But it is a lovely frame – I had 120mm SIDS on mine and it handled great with them

Only selling as I’ve switched to a Solaris

just rewatched the whole lot with my kids (1st viewing for them)

They love it too – always a mark of a classic comedy IMO

IME it’s more a case of seeing what comes up – as you say choice is limited

I have 3 kids – first 26″ wheeled MTB was a 14″ inbred from the classifieds. That frame has just transitionded from daughter no 1 to daughter no2 (no1 is now on a 16″ frame)

My 10 year old boy is now nearly as tall as 13 yo daughter number 2 – so I was again on the look out for an XS frame

I managed to get a 14″ Cotic BFE from the garage sale (simple fix of a bent mech hanger) – very good timing as he is very excited to have a bike like mine (I ride a solaris)

I avoided jump frames – I always assumed they would be very heavy and harsh(although I suppose a BFe and an inbred are hardly light and compliant – they both built up lighter than the hotrocks they replaced though)

You don’t say how old your daughter is – mine moved from 24″ wheeled bikes to 14″ frames.

I expect it’s the poo on the floor they don’t like

I like dogs by the way, and I’m sure yours wouldn’t have done – but I understand why employees on minimum wage don’t want to add “cleaning up after dogs” to their to do list

    just to add

as mentioned above – I wouldn’t get any teflon coated ones. The teflon will die before the pan does

    OP (or anyone else)

I have a medium mk 2 cotic soul in custard for sale (I’ve not put it on the classifieds yet)

assuming it’s your size (and you have a straight steerer fork) it fits the bill (I ran it with 120mm SIDS and it was great)

I think Malvo is just motivated by chaos, and not money.

This, completely. It was clear from the first episode when he killed Lester’s bully. He had no financial motive for doing this, he just did it because it amused him.

I quite enjoyed the series – it suffered a bit through being compared to

    a) the original movie which is an all time classic (I’ve seen it loads of times and no doubt will watch it many more)

    b) the incredibly high standard of current US drama. Compared to Breaking Bad, True Detective, Mad Men, GoTs etc it felt a bit 2nd division.

Still it was nice to have something decent to watch on a sunday night on free TV

“we’re not so different you and I” – Villain to Hero

drunk tramp sees something amazing – looks at the bottle of cheap booze in his hand and throws it away

Last day on the job = dead by the end of act 1 “Mendozaaaaaa!”

Car chase through an “ethnic” location – a fruit cart will be overturned

A car containing our heros crashes and comes to a halt.

If our heros leap from the car and start runnning >>>>> the car will explode
If our heros remain seated >>>>>> the car will not explode

Yes you need to get the chain proper clean. There are instructions on the squirt website I think

    grievoustim
    Free Member

    I’m aware of sheldon’s advice

Squirt doesn;t work if you apply it over existing lube – it needs to go onto a clean, degreased chain for first application

    grievoustim
    Free Member

when I buy a new chain it goes in a jam jar of white spirit to clean it of the gunk it comes coated in

then I lube it up with Squirt dry lube

from then on the chain just gets wiped down with a rag and more squirt added as needed

when i’m washing the bike the chain gets removed – the dirt on the chain just dries and falls off really – no need to degrease. and the rest of the drivetrain doesn’t build up layers of black goop like you get with wet lubes

The only downside is you need to remember to lube your chain several hours before you ride – if you apply it then ride straightaway it just gets lost

I thouroughly enjoyed the Evil Dead remake – different vibe whilst still being scary and funny

The Thing remake/ prequal was ok ish

I’ll state all the obvious ones shall I?

    Magnificent 7
    A Fistful of Dollars
    the Departed

The US remake of Breathless with Richard Gear is pretty good fun (or was when I saw it on Moviedrome many years ago)

I can’t get Rust & Bone on Netflix do you have to upgrade?

Rust and Bone is the film that had the biggest impact on me recently – really quite emotional by the end

It’s on Netflix if you fancy a French film about killer whales, life changing accidents, love, fatherhood and bare knuckle fighting

6 music also seems to have some sort of system in place which prevents artists being repeated in a certain time period – on several occasions I’ve heard a dj saying they were going to play “artist x” but “dj y” played them in their show already
