No not ever, none. Twitter and Facebook are social networking sites for people that never meet socially! What the Hell

There is a certain irony in posting such an unreserved rejection of internet social networking sites on an internet forum

We went through a loaf a day, sometimes more; average about £400 a year, making your own costs a quarter of that (ish) so I now have £300 extra a year to spend on shiney bike bits, and it’s nicer
    Rules are for fools…..

People who eat nothing but homemade – do you bake everyday? Or do multiple loaves and then freeze some or something? I like the idea and do bake bread from time to time – but think I would struggle if I had to do it every day

I just can’t be bothered anymore TBH. For home viewing it’s far simpler just to play the DVD. If I was away and wanted to watch something on an iPad or my phone, I would probably just rent something direct from iTunes.

    i think it’s great – and I’ve read/ like the comic too – although I’m not a major geek

I do seem to have a “thing” for ladies in tight stretchy costumes though

However its still just catchy pop. Its not a work of genius. Its just 70s MOR pop

This implies it is easy to do. If it was people would be releasing catchy, multiple platinum pop albums every week. It’s much easier to make an album of “authentic” blues then it is to make “Rumours”

Blues. Although there was another band that masqueraded as Fleetwood Mac after Peter Green left. They were MOR pap though.

I would rather have my head slammed in a car door then listen to boring old, lumpy Peter green’s fleetwood mac.

“Rumours” is a work of genius – it’s not country but there is a country influence in that 70s, LA sound.

The craft string vest style base layer is very good when it’s hot – stops me getting that “cold sweat” feeling when the sun goes in. I’m going to get another

I got a huge bag of polenta/ cornmeal from the local Caribbean grocers shop

My mate had to go and watch Bridesmaids with his wife… “It’s like the hangover, except not actually funny” was his review.

then your mate’s opinion is not to be trusted. Bridesmaids is about 1000x funnier than the hangover, but that is not incredibly difficult to achieve

Not sure if ^ would work but if you’ve got Dropbox you could save the file to there and then op/print it from your MBP

depends what you are trying to print surely – I can read files on my phone i have created on my mac via dropbox – but it doesn’t work for everything the other way round. You could get what you need to print on the screen of the ipad, take a photo of it (by pressing the screen off and home button together) and then transfer it to your mac (via dropbox, e-mail, or just via itunes/ iphoto sync) – then just print it from your mac.

    not particularly slick though!

I use a google mail calendar to do this – means I can sync across my phone, mac and any pc (via the web). There are instructions on the google site as to how to set this up with iCal. Also means you can share calendars with friends colleagues etc

Don’t stop till you get enough is the ultimate Jackson floorfilla IMO

Motown. Can never go wrong with Motown at a wedding. “it’s your thing” by the Isley brothers is an absolute 100% sure thing

Early beatles medly (twist and shout, saw her standing there etc)

“you can go your own way” by the mac is a bit of a stormer (but lyrical content may he a bit off for a wedding)

I have iphone 4 on 3 – and have used it as a hotspot for my laptop (and a friends ipad, and an ipod touch) – it works really well

The 3 data allowance in generous compared to some of the other though (1 gig a month) and does not have any extra charges for tethering

Completely normal – I don’t want to be with my ex anymore, but the feelings I felt at the end (and still do feel) are exactly like grief – grief for life I used to have, the life I thought I was going to have etc.

It will get better, it will take time.

Lifting the rear wheel during a proper bunnyhop is NOT done by scooping the rear wheel using the pedals. Certainly not for your normal height bunnyhop anyway. It’s nearly all done by pushing forward with the bars whilst unweighting the pedals to allow room for the rear to come up.

You can make a bike do a bunnyhop when stood next to the bike and not even touching the pedals.

    +1 .

I’m pretty rubbish at them – but I got a lot better when I realised this. Watch a trials rider doing massive hops from virtual standstill. They get the front up first, then use their arms to push the rest of the bike up in the air. You are just unweighting your legs – not scooping or pulling up the back with them

I find them much easier when I am riding fast at a big log or fallen tree – I can’t seem to practice them without an actual obstacle in the way

I think Snow Leopard was £50, and that wasn’t a major OS upgrade.

snow leopard was more like £20 – but the fact that a major OS upgrade like lion will only be £30 can only be a good thing

I have one – but I only use it when on the MTB. Its good to know its well protected, and the screen is protected from muddy fingers etc.

i don’t bother to use the thick plastic bit that slides on over the screen and has some kind of belt clip on it though – that makes it stupidly bulky

day to day I just use a bumper

I am resurrecting this thread because I’ve made a pretty good job of recreating the recipe for this stuff to make a large batch at home – about 5 servings worth.

Here’s the recipe if anyone wants a nice oaty, yogurty, fruity alternative to hot porridge for breakfast

500g pot of natural/ low fat type yogurt – the “value” stuff works fine
    300g of oats
350g of apple juice (is that 350ml? dunno)
2 tablespoons of agave nectar – they sell it in sainsburys, honey, syrup or sugar would work too
fruit – you can have what you want here, tinned peaches drained and chopped up, chopped apple and blueberries have all worked for me so far
    juice of half a lemon

mix it all up in a big bowel and keep in the fridge – its best to let the oats soften up over night before you eat it

there was no 1st series – the whole point is that what happened to him prior to getting shot is a mystery as he does not know himself

Ep 2 really steps things up IMO – Stephen Rea’s character is introduced and he is the best thing in it by a mile

Don’t forget Halloween if we are talking Carpenter classics. The Duke of Yorks cinema in Brighton is doing a John Carpenter all nighter soon. They haven’t announced the films yet, but I’m hoping for The Thing, Halloween and P13 or Escape from NY

    Machynlleth area of wales

lovely beaches in Aberdyfi and Borth (although stick to the beach just North of Borth – don’t bother going to Borth itself).

Loads of riding – Coed y Brenin and Nant Y Arin are close by

can’t you just stick a tube in for the remainder of the ride – then fix the tyre when you get back?

I’ve just patched up holes with a regular puncture repair kit. Sorry if I’m teaching you to suck eggs here.
