Why are they worth so much? there must be tens of thousands of copies of them around.

because they aren’t making them anymore – it’s blu ray SE or nothing now

actually – thinking about it some dickering about with “zoom” type settings might be required on a widescreen TV to avoid a squashed image, it’s been a while since I’ve watched them

it is correct – I have seen some people complaining that its 4:3 letterbox, but playing them on my PS3 into a widescreen TV via HDMI it all comes out in the correct ratio

Argh – if se, why not blu-ray – has he changed even more?!!

yes he has – and the SE DVD comes with the original films as extras (sourced from laserdisc, stereo sound – but that’s as good as it gets these days)

wow – I paid about £15 for mine, seems to has gone up in value rather!

The original versions of the trilogy on DVD are sourced from the laserdiscs

I have a DVD set which has both the SEs and the original cinema versions (although I think gredo still shoots first). I have never watched the SE ones

Lovefilm is great for BluRays – don’t cost any more than DVDs to borrow, great service

I also use them to stream films via the PS3 – this has improved a lot since it first started (picture quality and choice of films) and is a good last resort option if you really want something to watch right now – hang back for the Blu Ray though if its something your looking forward to as the quality is much better

I’ve been trying Netflix on the free trial – not bad for US comedy (TV shows and stand-up), movie selection is pretty dire to be honest. Not enough on there to justify 5.99 a month in my opinion (although the picture quality seems a bit better than lovefilm, and some stuff is HD/ 5.1)

I expect it’s standard practice in Hollywood, where actors need to bulk up quickly for a film.

Not sure there is anything wrong with it when the role demands it, bit daft when they are playing a “normal” person, but look like someone who spends their life in the gym

The film of Jaws is far better than the book

The film of “the Road” is good but not better than the book.

try letting all the air out of the -ve chamber

then pumping the +ve to the correct pressure

then pumping the negative to your pressure of choice

that might sort it – if you keep tweaking the -ve and +ve without following the above process things can get out of whack

I use the iPhone app – I’ve been stuck on week 3 level 3 forever (I can complete day 3 on a good day only) but TBH I’m ok with this – doing the routine has done wonders for my upper body strength and I don’t want to get any bigger as I’m happy being a skinny git

I had the same issue with my formula oros. Bleeding them sorted it.

Can’t find it now – but a decent article in the guardian suggested that one of the accused father’s was something of a gangster – who may have had influence on officers / wittnesses etc – leading to the initial mishandling of the case

don’t forget that a banjo is for life, not just for christmas

Last year I found a litter of ukuleles stuffed in a bag by the canal on boxing day, still makes me shiver to think about it

I’ve never played one – but £200 seems too cheap for a hollow body/ glued neck guitar. Its like buying a full suspension bike with your £200 budget, when you’d be better off with a basic, rigid , hard tail (ie a telecaster)

Anyway , get a tele – teles rule

i’ve recently ditched the camelback – only get it out for long rides where extra water is needed

I carry in my jersey pockets

    small drawstring bag containing –
    patches
    tyre boots
    spare chain links
    CO2
    mini pump
    tyre lever
    multi tool
    couple of zip ties
    cash or debit card

food/ jacket or gillet/ phone / keys in other pockets

a spare tube is strapped under my saddle (for a long ride where I’m using a camelback I might include an extra tube) – I run tubeless

    bottle on the bike

I love it, feels so much cooler, lighter and simpler

It works very easily with my iPhone 4 and MacBook

Not an option for me to drop my broadband though – as 3G reception at home is patchy at best for me

Why not keep your current dock if you like it- and get an iPod touch. Then you can use a radio app over wifi. That’s what I do

Seriously 4 miles is nothing – just do it in “normal” clothes and keep spare shoes/ trousers in work for the odd occasion you get wet – getting changed at each end into proper cycling gear would take as long as the ride and be the biggest demotivater IMO.

I recall Jeremy Clarkeson made the same point in a newspaper column and posted hid details online to prove a point

I’ve been using lovefilm for years for DVDs and now blurays. For me the steaming is fine on a laptop
    – but on a decent sized tv (mines a 37″ I think) the definition is just not high enough via the ps3. Until that’s improved I’ll stick to discs in the post

The bedroom in my flat is prone to similar issues – only one exterior wall but was getting mould forming in the built in wardrobe, on the exterior wall and behind the chest of drawers. Pretty sure it’s an issue with airflow.

    Things I’ve done

.- cleaned away all mouldy bits with bleach. / water mixture
    – got a dehumidifier
    – crack open the window when I sleep
    – regularly open windows in the flat to air it out
    – open bathroom windows when I shower

Kill List will be out on DVD soon – the definition of a “non-mainstream thriller/ horror”

Bit marmite – but I loved “Antichrist”, looks incredible on Blu Ray

i watch loads of films (on DVD/ Blu ray or on cable) – cos I’m a total film geek

I watch a few decent dramas, comedies and documentaries

What I pretty much never do is just turn on the TV and watch whatever’s on – everything is either recorded or iPlayer, so no ads (which I like)

    I love tele’s

I don’t play loads of rock these days – but mine makes lots of the right noises if I crank uo the distortion

if you are worrying about loosing the 22nd fret though, maybe it;s not for you (I can’t remember the last time I ventured past fret 16 or so)

Irig/ amplitude on the iPhone is superb – my line 6 pod has not been touched since I got it. And a fraction of the cost of a new piece of hardware if you already own an iPhone/ pod/ pad

    She only has stock ringtones

its easy to add your own non-stock ringtones to an iPhone, google it – and with IOS5 you can use non-stock tones for texts etc as well

+1 for gmail integration on the iphone – I use google mail, calendar etc and it all integrates perfectly
