How am I changing the mass in the system by having a mesh floor lorry?

for a start air could get out of "the system", displaced by wing flappage etc

    I said mass, not weight

I think some people don't comprehend the difference – physics 101 lads

a bit tongue in cheek though I'll admit 😉

    just keeping it going really

well, if you're going to bring in mesh lorries etc, then you are changing the mass in the system – stop changing the rules !

there are many Fs in this problem

    no there aren't

mass (M) is constant, gravity (a) is constant, so therefore is the "weight" (F)

    F=Ma innit
unless you change M or a you ain't affecting F

    BS reigns supreme though …

    can't leave it on 99

assuming it's an airtight lorry, it still contains the same amount of air, the same amount of perches, and the same amount of pigeons. They can fly about if they want, makes no difference.

I think the BS of the week thread should run forever !

I'm a motorcyclist, weekend warrior if you like

It makes you a better car driver, just like being a cyclist does.

The training received nowadays(and the current test) drill this into you

(sorry MF & Grips, 's true)

However, when I was 17 you just rode round the block twice without falling off to get your licence. Maybe this is where the "born agains" are lacking, as when they come back to the scene they either go HD-type pipe and slippers, or the sportsbike route. It's tempting to push the things beyond your skill level, and in support of that side of the argument I would agree that the modern machine is much more capable than 99% of riders.

But there's an element of truth in what TJ and PP say – some things may look scary to the uninitiated, but that 1% know what they are doing. In the same way that some of the MTB stunts you see look terrifying, but you know obviously that the guys concerned can pull it off – and on your bike too.

The public roads however are no place for scaring people, even if you know what you're doing.

    great thread though

which are actually baby spiders growing inside them. The spiders lay the eggs under the skin and then they all come running out. It could be that.

Edit: Well, I'm disappointed to learn that spiders don't do this but flies and other crawlies do. What a let down real life is.
