Trailrat, I have a 1.9 td Kangoo Trekka, it’s a fantastic vehicle. It’s been lying in the garden for six months, I really should get it mot’d.

Car based van is the way to go.
I replaced the Trekka with a Yeti and as good as the Yeti is the Trekka is a far better bike wagon.

I know pretty much all the trails that are on this years K&Q , lets just say it’s going to be an epic and if it’s wet, a slippy slidey fun mudfest for most of it.

I’m going up to watch tomorrow. I was entered but sacked it as I wasn’t feeling up to it.
I’ll cheer on some of my friends instead.

I have a Orange Alpine 29er and also a Orange ST4 and ride basically everything in Scotland and some Enduro events.
Recently the 29er was getting fixed and I was riding the 26″ bike.
It was still great riding the ST4 just different from the 29er.
The 29er for me is a far better bike and I don’t ever see me going back to a smaller wheel size.
Probably end up selling the ST4, already sold my 26″ Five.

I did a deer society shoot once, like that first video.
We started with loaded rifle’s slung on our shoulders, then we had to drop to prone and shoot. I think it was about five polystyrene cups at 100m.

I’m in the process of converting my Five Alpine 29er from 1×10 to 2×11 but I’m still short the front shifter and mech so I’ll be riding it 1×11 and just use the granny ring manually when needed.

Wrecked my front XC 29″ rim on one uplift day at Innerleithen so changed to Enduro rims and no problems in eight months.
I may just have been unlucky with the front one.
I still have my damaged XC wheelset and will probably rebuild the front and use them for general trail use.
I also have a set of XC’s in 26″ flavour and they have been faultless.

They look better in real life usually and for the new season they have lengthened the top tubes to keep them Enduro.

I have a Emco Compact 8, great little lathe. I use it mostly for making bits for airguns.
I would like something a bit bigger now though Compact 8

Rickon is spot on. I have a Alpine Five as well, coming from a 26″ Five I found you can’t be lazy, you actually have to ride properly, look around the corners and actually turn the bars and lean the bike.
It took a bit of getting used to, but I never have any trouble in tight stuff.

On my Alpine Five, 22front and 30 rear or for a big day out 30 front and 40 on the rear, running with tubes and I weigh about 105kg all kitted up, not had a puncture for about two years now, touch wood.
    I’ve put a curse on myself now haven’t I 8O  .

I ride with a couple of meetup groups and like the informality of them, like a club but not and the rest of the time with a small group of friends.

My last bike was a 2011 26″ Five and I loved it, but it was time for a change.
I had only a short ride on a 29er in the past and didn’t see the point of them, then on a whim i bought one of the small framed refurbished Alpine Fives from Orange.
I am now a total convert and I don’t see myself going back to small wheels again. In the last eight months I’ve had mine I haven’t touched my 26″ wheeled Orange ST4 and I sold my 26″ Five.
My A5 is just so capable and suits my riding style perfectly.

Contact your supplier, it may be the internal valve is the only one. If it is the supplier will change it.
I’ve worked in a lot of houses in the past with no external stopcock.

I use Geo-fix at work, great stuff. Has to be put in as thick as the slab is and a decent width of gap, it really doesn’t like narrow gaps. It’s very permeable as well, amazing to watch water disappear through it.

I belive the official opening is in August sometime, but a soft opening will happen before then.
They are waiting for signage at the moment, but it’s a six week lead time for it.
So you’re looking at July for the soft opening.

I rode stage 8 at GT yesterday, absolutely knackering. I wouldn’t like to do it after a full enduro at race pace.
I’m doing the EWS extra at GT on Monday with a bunch of friends.

A friend of mine was running a gun crew on a naval gunnery range and they were tasked with firing rounds over a Wasp helicopter, to see how it stood up to the shock waves when rounds went over it.

    You can guess what happened.

The officer in charge laid the gun in wrongly and they blasted a perfectly good Wasp helicopter to pieces

From a reliable source. In the Scottish borders area from the M74 across to Berwick upon Tweed and up to the Edinburgh Regional boundary, there is only one traffic unit on patrol at any one time.
There are still Mobile speed cameras though.
