It’s usually a fungal infection if they snap at the base. Have a look round the base and see if there is anything under the bark.
Could be Honey fungus or Chicken of the woods

The Rescue of Bat 21 by Darrel D.Whitcomb, far far better than the film
and Beyond Endurance by Nick Barker the captain of the Endurance and it’s adventures during the Falklands campaign, a very interesting read.

I’ll be there in some capacity, either riding or helping.

Honestly if you’re going to live in Scotland and MTB , you’re going to have to drive, so much of the good riding is inaccessible using public transport, or public transport is just impractical.
There are great rides from a lot of the cities above, but you will be quite limited.
My choice would be Perth, good riding from city centre, easy rail link to Dunkeld, Aviemore and down to Stirling.
You will love it up here though.

My boss actually lives on site and drives to work quite often a journey of about ½ mile as you have to go in a roundabout way, the walk is about 300m

Just keep on to the police it does work, if they get enough complaints they can even seize the car.
We had a problem round ours with a couple of lowered Civics with straight thru exhausts and a BMW that drove exactly how you describe.
You don’t see the cars about anymore.
We do have some good neighbourhood police officers though.
Might be worth suggesting to the police as well that when you have brought it up with him and he’s said it was mates driving, you could bring up whether or not they are insured.

I’ve had them for a couple of years and love them.
Tevas weren’t the best with them, I’ve never had a problem with my 5:10s.
Never been serviced either and still like new, despite many ground strikes and hard landings.

I use White Lightning Crystal. It’s a clear waterproof grease.
454gm tub lasts for ages as you don’t have to use a huge amount of it.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been to I never stayed it was that bad.
It was a place called the Rat Trap in South Wales, the name should have been a clue.
The rooms were so bad when we saw them we walked out and found a Holiday Inn further up the road.
I’ve seen cleaner skips, thing is the locals all said it was great for food and really popular, I just hope the kitchens were cleaner than the rooms.

Absolutely amazing, thanks for the flypast at the police college, you could only have been 200ft from us. It was awesome :D , far better than you promised, thank you.

You have done us a sterling service over the years.
I am glad to never have used you, but happy to know you were there.

I’d go with nobeer, base yourself in Stirling.
    Everything is quite central.
Easy to get to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth using the Motorway.
Not far to Loch Lomondside and the Trossachs for some nice scenery.

Have a look at Craig Robertson as well. Similar style of writing and his stories are set in Glasgow.

I have a Madison Flux superlight and it’s standing up well to Scottish rain and seems quite breathable.
The Madison rep told me they don’t stand up well to crashes, but I’ve crashed four times in it so far and it’s fine :D

I’ve a Fatspanner socket type one and really like it, it also has flats on it for a normal spanner as well and in the centre of the bb part it has a part for removing the plastic crank ring on HollowTech cranks.

I used to be a decorator.
I just use any old sleeve, but i like to change pile length to suit the surface.
Only thing I do before using cheaper sleeves is give them a good wash first to get rid of loose fluff.
I’ve got sleeves that are 10 or more years old and probably used to paint a couple of houses a year.
Like others have said stick them in bags overnight for using the next day.
I find getting a decent pole and roller cage more important.
Cleaning sleeves is easy when you know how .

Madison dealers can price match Shimano stuff if you ask and take in proof of the lower price.
They will even match the Germans and the likes of CRC.
They just don’t advertise the fact they can do it.
