I had the update done to my Skoda Yeti and a short time later the EGR valve and EGR coolant pump went. Cost me £1700 to fix.
Just this week though I had a letter from Skoda basically telling me to put a complaint in and I’ll get my money back.
Work was carried out by Skoda.

That one with the woman is only a couple of miles from me.
On the last day of high school my friends went for a swim in a small reservoir at the end of my road.
My best friend never came out  .
He wasn’t the strongest of swimmers and became entangled in the weeds and couldn’t break free. Quite tragic.

Thanks for this, I just used the MSE Resolva pages to apply for PPI back, didn’t take any time at all.
Just have to wait a while he see what happens.

I once came home from a night out with my parents and my car was parked on the road as they put their car in the driveway first.
I waited till we were in the house and told my parents there were two folk in my car trying to nick it.
Whilst my mum phoned the police my dad and me went out.
When they exited the car my dad managed to grab one of them and the other one ran off.
The other one then came back to help his friend, so I tackled him to the ground and sat on him, I was about 110kg at the time  , he wasn’t going anywhere.
Unfortunately the other one got away shortly before the police arrived.
The police were over the moon as they had broken in to about another 12 cars the same night.
No investigation in to me as I just used a judo throw to get him on the ground, so reasonable force. I could have used more force as the one I tackled had a breaker bar.
If I had been on my own I don’t think I would have tackled them, maybe just tried to scare them off.
As for the house it probably has a few more Maglite torches than others  .

I got given a Dawes roadbike a few weeks back.
It’s been lying outside for about 30yrs .
The seat is pretty much dissolved and the bar tape is shot and apart from the rusty chain, everything else still works.
The wheel bearings run smoothly and the BB is smooth as butter, the thumb shifters and mechs still work as well.
My modern bike would never be like that after sitting out so long.

It’s a battery, if you break open a car battery it looks like that.

@ninfan, I used to work for the FC as well as a wildlife ranger.
I wasn’t to popular when the boss asked about Sika deer and eradicating them and i told him it was to late the horse has bolted and they were wasting their time. Went down well
I covered a lot of the Central Scotland woodland and in the time i was there never shot a deer in them, they were only interested in controlling the numbers in the Trossachs at the time.

There is a large increase in what you would call urban deer.
This is because of the large increase in habitat.
New tree planting everywhere around towns, tree planting along roadsides all these new areas on new housing estates to catch and hold surface water runoff usually lots of long grass, shrubs and trees planted.
You also have lots of small urban parks popping up everywhere as well.
Planners have unintentionally created a fantastic place for them.
Unfortunately not many people realised the problem these deer would cause.
Because they are urban and mostly on local authority ground or a large amount of developers land there is no plan in place for control and because of the urban nature of controling them you start to clash with the public who just see the fact that Bambi is being slaughtered and not the problems they cause.
In the countryside there has not been a huge increase in Roe and Red/Sika numbers but Muntjac are an increasing problem as they extend their range. Wild Boar are also becoming a problem as well.
I can’t comment on Fallow as i don’t know a lot about them, there’s not a lot of them in Scotland. Although they had to have a cull in the Dunkeld area as they were coming down to the side of the A9 to feed at the roadside.

    The Equalizer.
I loved the TV series and put off seeing the movie.
I actually really enjoyed it, so much so I’m watching it again just now 8)

    What ^^^ says.
I’ve had it happen to two Landrover Defenders, it all depends on how much oil it consumed when it blew.
Mine were fine and just needed new turbos.

I had one of the last of the 26″ Fives as well. It was a really fun ride and i do regret selling it a couple of years ago.
I did replace it with an Alpine 29er which is just amazing but not as poppy.
I did hang on to my Orange ST4 though, now that really is a fun bike :D .

Airguns for me, mostly rifles. Most could be described as projects.
I’ll get round to sorting them all at some point.
I’m in the middle of a nice Air-Arms TX200 project, just need to decide on finish. Traditional bluing or a coloured Cerakote finish.

Not confirmed yet but it seems that they removed the armed cover from most of the external entry points in favour of roving patrols as it was seen as more cost effective.
They also don’t have the gates shut due to the volume of traffic using the entrance, which reads as the MPs don’t want to be inconvenienced by having to wait for the gates to open .

Of course this never happened at work ;-) .

What Sanny says. It doesn’t flow very well and in summer it’s a very hard ride once all the grass starts growing and the trail is difficult to see.
The beach is better for riding on in a lot of parts.

Go for the Five, you’ll not regret it in any way.
They ride a bit different, but you soon get used to it and they are an absolute hooligan downhill.
Oh !! Leave it pink, it’s a great colour.

    I have.
I smashed the front of my Landy up and they wanted to write it off.
I told the insurance company I was happy for the coach builder to use OEM or used parts to fix it and they were happy with that.
They used Landy original parts and labour to price it originally, it would have cost three times as much 8O .

I have two D cell Maglites.
The four cell has a cheap Chinese LED and it’s pretty good, my two cell has the genuine Maglite LED in it and it’s in a different league, so much brighter.
They are worth the money as the batteries last for ages.

I had my Skoda Yeti 2.0l done in October.
The engine didn’t feel as free revving after the tune, now I don’t even notice the difference.
As for mpg I’ve no idea, I don’t keep a close eye on it as after 20years of Land Rover ownership anything more than 25mpg is a win  .
Maybe a coincidence but four days after it was modded the engine went in to limp home mode on the M90 on the way back from the Fair City Enduro.
It cleared it’s self the next day, then a couple of days later the engine management light come on for a couple of days then cleared it’s self.
It’s now been fine ever since, fingers crossed.
As for gifts I got a umbrella to stay dry when it breaks down and a thermal might to keep me warm under the brolly.
Oh and my rear heated window has now stopped working, so my hands won’t even be warm when I’m pushing it  .
The 4×4 didn’t even get me unstuck at the Falkirk Funduro last week, i was one of only two cars to be towed out .

We have an overtime ban at work but sometimes something urgent will need done or a job finishing.
It is usually only ½hr or an hour, so our manager just lets us have it as TOIL whenever we want.
Today was actually a public holiday (St Andrews day) but I ended up working it as there are only two of us doing the work of five.
I’ll just have a Friday or Monday off at some point and have a long riding weekend :D .

That weight limit is about right, I used to be about that weight when I had my XC’s, the front wheel lasted one uplift day at Innerleithen and the rim had to be replaced.
They really are just an XC rim.
I then bought a set of enduros and I’ve had them about 18months, they really are tough. I’ve really abused them and I’ve not even had to true them yet.
I badly cased a gap jump yesterday, dropping the rear wheel into the gap and it’s still fine.
    Go for the enduros.

My Kangoo did this, it was the electric fuel pump running on.
I think it does it to keep the diesel fuel parts cool after you switch off.
