Contact your local authority as they probably have an Empty Homes Officer whose role is to get property such as these back on the market.

Some interesting comparisons here. Torchy also has some all in one units like the Xeccon Striver 600.

You might want to point your mate towards the Public Service Digital Exchange (PSDeXchange) as one of the categories is ‘care apps’: http://exchange.publicservicedigital.com/. Your mate could upload details of the app or search for others doing similar things. There’s also a conference/showcase early next year – http://www.adasscareappsshowcase.co.uk/

When my sister and family visited HPW, we met them in Kings Langley and had a pizza at Oscars Pizza. Nice place, iirc. There are other places to eat in Kings Langley and it’s a much nicer place than Watford, which I detest (the other half comes from Watford!).

Was it the BZ Optic ones from a recent Fresh Goods Friday? I’m in the same situation and they seemed cheap but not followed it up. More info here.

Yeah, me too. Most of the trails I ride are the same as I’ve done the last 16 years. I’m considerably older than you, though!!

Have you spoken with your local authority Environmental Health department? I believe they are responsible for investigating fly-tipping, unless it’s large scale or hazardous. More details https://www.gov.uk/report-flytipping

Jackie mentioned that you’d had puppies…well done Daphne and Colin! ! Got your hands full there; can’t imagine keeping an eye on 7 of the little buggers once their eyes open and they start exploring!

Presume you’ve got the PostGIS extender for Postgres to handle spatial data?

As above, FME will help and you can get a handy 30 day trial version.

Had an issue at work with Google not returning search results and the fix (IE browser) was to add the web address under compatibility view. Not sure if this will help.

Have a look at Map Sculpture. They do raised relief maps in various materials (wood, bronze, aluminium) and sizes.

that 1m and 2m lidar dtm data is just insane would take for ever to stitch together the malverns and would be about a billion(for the 2m) faces

Yep, have a look at this blog on how to reduce the size of the data to something more manageable:

My nephew was running today and managed it in 1:34. He was running in aid of CRY as he had a good friend from university die suddenly. Well done to everyone who took part today.

Wot’s wrong with OS British Grid? I don’t understand why the Council have used two different formats on the same route.

The OS are thinking of including lat/long coordinates on their paper maps to bring them in-line with GPS devices.

GIS Analyst/Cartographer. Re-trained in my mid 30s and the best thing I ever did! For the last 3 years I’ve worked at a Local Authority, but my job is more IT focused, so I don’t get to do much cartography or actual spatial analysis and I don’t enjoy it as much. Currently looking around and I’ve seen an interesting job in a great location, but the salary is a lot less (~£6k)….

I was hoping you’d post pictures of your 2 Wheatens, ChesseybeanZ. We lost Dewey 3 weeks ago and still getting used to not having him around :(. Loving the other pictures, as well.

There’s some stuff on the top, but most of the other bits are down, or a climb back-up! If I head that way, I normally do a loop that includes Marley Common & Stanley Common.

The work is near to the start and around the first big bombhole. Still work in progress at the moment and not fully integrated into the main trail and a bit more than jumps!

Scott – just about still riding, but it’s been intermittent over the last couple of years. Might try and join you one Wednesday, once I’m a little fitter! Cheers Greg
