I've entered ,just need to get rather a lot of miles in now over the next few months .
I'm happy riding 110 miles in one day ,it's just the other 8 consective days that worries me !

If someone nicks my series 3 I’ll just jog alongside and catch them up . Err then I’ll assess the situation …

I’ve got a Series III ,1973 2 1/4 petrol engine .It’s great fun ,chuck dogs /bike in the back ,after off roading jet wash it outside AND inside !
Fully comp insurance is £88 this year ( yes £88 ) ,tax is £185 –I missed exemption by 10 months ,oh well .
There are loads of forums ,make sure chassis is ok ,but you can buy replacement ones /part chassis replacement .
Mine is pretty original and I paid £1100 18 months ago .
You won’t believe how much fun you can have off road at 15mph or less ,although on road the driving experience is akin to steering a boat !

Go to Justridingalong.com and have a look at the American Classic Hubs .
I had a pair of tubeless Olympic ZTR /AC hubs made for £500 and only 1400g .

I bought a ltd edition Motolite with Chris King headset and seatpost collar and Fox RP23 shock for £1400 from SShockwave ,Ruddington ,Notts last Christmas .
I love it ,4″or 5″ travel ,Talas rlc forks and xtr/xo bling !It certainly worked well at the Bike Radar enduro last weekend .It’s great to ride something that few other people have .I think Singletrack have one on test at the moment and that MBUK or WMTB will be testing a carbon one soon .
    You won’t regret it !

Don’t use Conti’s ,they’re very difficult to get sealed . Use Maxxis tyres instead .

I tend to ride XC west of Ashby out to Austrey ,basically flatish stuff ,nothing very technical I’m afraid , plenty of ruts and mud of course .
Ticknall /Robins wood is ok as per trail on above link .I’m up for joining you although I haven’t got any decent lights yet ,must get some soon as I’ve entered the Bikeradar enduro in May .
