Just looked in the December copy of cycling Plus which gave it a rave review and they claim in the review it has 32mm marathon tyres fitted and in the photos it has mud guards, so looks like good clearance

Also had what ever is doing the rounds and am on week two, which is just annoying cough and feeling utterly drained and falling asleep by mid afternoon. Last week was horrible though, cough, breathless and fever, was changing sheets daily as was waking up soaked

Used to have some and they were OK, were the planet x ones with resistance which are rebranded sportcrafter ones. Sold them to pay for a tubro to use with zwift which is way more fun

Enjoyed it a lot as work at an industrial facility filled with PLC’s, think the major thing I took away was an off hand comment made that they have never found an air gap they can’t breach if they are so inclined

Porlock Toll road for a southern option but if you really want to do up to 600km then why not do the Pendle 600 from Clitheroe, gives you 10,000m of climbing in 600km

Did a group ride today but was a complete shambles due to the server issues, ride leader was 5mins behind the group as wouldnt let them in, so all just fell to pieces

Just a point of order. If you use the term “snowflake” I strongly suggest you look up where it comes from and have a think about whether it’s a term you want to be associated with and use.

Volunteering still gets you in for next time.the Facebook group is full of disgruntled people, its definitely tough that a lot of people have a ticket in the basket and it crashes on order and then refresh and sold out, massively flakey site.they just posted a screen shot of then getting a million hits in the last twenty four hours but think lots of that is people with multiple tabs and devices smashing refresh

yeh I found the weeks leave bit the hardest to justify, not sure why they can’t run it over a weekend to shorten the amount of leave needed but am sure there is a good reason

They just commented on FB it sold out in two minutes and lots of disgruntled people who couldnt get on or had it crash in basket

Yeh the YACF lot will be able to confirm but I think there is a camp site near by that does a discount that a lot them use and you can leave your car there all week.

Think they are looking at about 150 places in each ballot for Friday from the last update I’ve seen

On the zwift facebook group it comes up every other day on the tacx turbos, some glue it them selves to fix it, others get a tacx replacement. They seem good at sending out new units if under warrantee.

I got the Alloy 105 Grade and love it but don’t buy it in the hope of running big tyres, I think 35 is max, currently running 32s with full guards though. Might upgrade to some Hunt wheels at some point.

Another bike worth looking at is the Spa Elan, gets great reviews and seems well liked on Audax forums along with the Condor mentioned above. The Spa got a great right up in one of the cycling mags last month as well, but can’t remember which (got given it at xmas as something to read).

I don’t think it ever required an SR for qualification like PBP did it?

    greentricky

me too but doesn’t drive me nuts.

bike stays on turbo, so roller tightness doesn’t change, check the pressure every now and again. I settled on between the white lines would do.

Bike comes off turbo constantly, so having to spend extra minutes calibrating is annoying, plus I like it when things work as they should not having to accept a fault the manufacture isn’t bothered about

Crosshair, hard to say really as so many variables. Tonights z2 ride was 100k with 1100m elevation gain in 2:55 off 240 watts (@ 71kg), probably not too far off given reasonable conditions.

You zone 2 at 240W? Blimey

glitch I’ve found is trying to calibrate. First few spin downs were ‘too loose’ so I turned it up a fair way to see if I could get it too tight and then kept getting error in calibration messages. S

I get exactly this every time on my flow, drives me nuts

Did the firmware definitely complete? Because I think I read if it loses connection or power mid update it can brick the unit

Cut the intensity of the cycle and just try and stay in zone 1?Hard with the hills but keep it no higher than zone 2. Should help build your engine while not taking it out of you for running hopefully.
