Had a good week there last year with my daughter, stream, lake, woods, rope swings etc. on site for the kids to go wild. Plenty of space, OK toilets and showerblock. Every pitch has a firepit. Chickens wandering around.
^used to do similiar before walking to the club, I used to go for a warm bottle of cheap supermarket own brand whitwine and my mate would do half a bottle of Port. Every week like clockwork. Grim
Uni was all about the purple nasty, VK’s and reefs, and every wednesday night was midnight madness, everything £1 from 11.30 to 12.30 so used to get multiple red, blue and green aftershock in one glass, thought of it makes me queezy now
I can only go on what you say, but it doesn’t sound like he brought it up.
Instead of saying yes I earn a lot, several times he said, I wouldn’t say I am wealthy because of what I do with my money but I don’t want to discuss that, just seemed strange as he made a non-issue in to an issue that he does something with his money that he doesn’t want to discuss but means he isn’t wealthy. Was like a weird humble brag.
So what;s he spend his money on?
Anyone see him on the tv earlier and when asked if he is wealthy on £135k kept saying he is well paid but not wealthy due to what he does with his money but he doesn’t wish to discuss it.
One of those, why bring it up if you don’t want to mention in.
All the stuff I have seen on social media, Corbyn seems to be getting big crowds and going down well, just don’t think he has enough time for the word to truly spread and to overcome the media
Listened to any questions tonight on y42 and Labour and Corbyn were getting all the applause from the audience, they even seemed to be behind Diane Abbott, the whole tone of it was a welcome surprise
This section on the wikipedia page on compulsory voting is interesting:
Research[edit]
A study of a Swiss canton where compulsory voting was enforced found that compulsory voting significantly increased electoral support for leftist policy positions in referendums by up to 20 percentage points.[29] Another study found that the effects of universal turnout in the United States would likely be small in national elections, but that universal turnout could matter in close elections, such as the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004.[30] In the United States, Democrats would most likely fare better under universal voting (as nonvoters are generally more Democratic) but due to the dearth of close races in the United States, universal voting would change “very few election outcomes.”[31] Research on compulsory voting in Australia found that it increased the vote shares and seat shares of the Australian Labor Party by 7 to 10 percentage points and led to greater pension spending at the national level.[32] While [weakly enforced] compulsory voting in Austria increased overall turnout by roughly 10 percentage points, there is “no evidence that this change in turnout affected government spending patterns (in levels or composition) or electoral outcomes.”[33] A 2016 study finds that compulsory voting reduces the gender gap in electoral engagement in several ways.[34] A 2016 study of the Netherlands found that the abolition of compulsory voting increased the vote share of Dutch social democratic parties while reducing the vote share of “minor and extreme parties”.[35]
Research suggests that higher rates of voter turnout lead to higher top tax rates.[36]
So the IFS came out today and said the Labour budget balances and all pledges can be paid for based on thier proposed tax changes.I wonder if the media and Tories will stop reporting thier lies that thier is a 45bn gap
Been one of a double best man combo and it wasn’t the best from my point of view. I was the uni mate and the other his brother who didn’t really know him so well….and I felt obliged to defer to him so everything landed up being a bit dull and very middle of the road.
Labour haven’t said this is the only tax change they are making though, they are also changing capital gains, corporation and inheritance to help fund their policies
I earn over £80k and probably average 35 hours a week and have a very cushy work life balance (the higher you go, the easier it gets as you have much more autonomy and can manage your own time).
Wtf are you doing? You must never admit this and are supposed to say you work hard and deserve all you get and the low earners should just work harder.
I find Happn better than Tinder but think it helps I live in a city, so high volume of passing people, imagine in a more rural area it would be useless
I generally get a nod back but find those riding in club size groups less likely so say hi back and understand if someone burying themselves in a training effort don’t acknowledge me
The £80k tax bracket sounds reasonable but no doubt loads of people who will never come close to earning that will still moan about it as they have aspirations
When at uni, drunk housemate came home and decided to boil and egg and then passed out, woke up to the fire alarm and a lot of smoke from pan boiled dry and an egg like a fossil
