    I had a Frankie Howerd t-shirt.

On the front the usual “Frankie Says” with a picture of Frankie Howerd. On the back “Get Your Titters Out!”.

I have shown absolutely no self control over Easter. I have also been away from home, not riding and don’t believe the scales here, they must be broken, it’s not possible to put that much weight on in 5 days!!!!

Start a cmd (DOS) windows and enter the following to see if DNS is functioning:

    nslookup http://www.google.co.uk

If this doesn’t return a bunch of IP addresses and possible alias names for http://www.google.co.uk then your ISP’s DNS server could be down. Some entries were possibly in your DNS cache which is why they worked previously.

    Also, what retro83 said.

I had something like this and the DNS Client (it turns URLs like http://www.google.co.uk into an IP address) was not running for some reason.

If the FlushDNS thing doesn’t work

Try checking that the DNS Client is running:

    Start->Administrative Tools->Services

Find DNS Client. If the status column doesn’t say Started this could be your problem. To fix:

Right Click on DNS Client and select properties.
    Change Startup Type to Automatic.
    Click Ok
Right Click on DNS Client again and select Start

Now try the browser. You may need to restart the browser first.

Last time we went we had two bikes (my Rockhopper and my son’s Hardrock) and a trailer-bike stolen. Good locks too! They were in one of the bike parks under lights.

They found the trailer-bike in one of the lakes a week later. It was a little bit rusty!

I have Defrosters too. I agree with most of the comments above. They are waterproof up to a point but like lots of boots suffer from water getting in at the top of the ankle when it’s very wet. The design is good at dealing with general splash. They aren’t a very warm boot especially when it’s really cold but two pairs of thinnish socks works for me. As they aren’t a very warm boot they are excellent for wet spring/autumn days too. Had mine two winters and they are still going strong.

Can’t comment on any other brands as these were my first winter/wet specific boots.

Friday the 13th was when Philip of France had the Templars burnt at the stake. Supposedly that’s why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky.

I’m 2 months younger. It’s not much but does it make me an honourary toy-boy? Been together since Live Aid day 1985!

[Edit]: Bloody hell, just realised that’ll be 25 years next year!

Sit on the bike. If the tyres don’t look too squishy all is fine!

If you want cheap you could try Kings YHA. Again about 5 minutes from Dolgellau.

I have three but of the locking type in the small picture at the bottom right. This allows you to lock the bike securely to the rack via the big metal loop thing.

They bolt to the wall and my kids swing on them for fun so I reckon they are pretty secure too.

You may need to hit/bend the wheel hanger to fit you wheel/tyre combo. If you do make sure you don’t mash the plastic sleeve on the wheel hanger.

The plastic sleeve on the wheel hanger has split on one of mine but this was due to ham-fisted use.

Overall a sturdy and useable bike rack.

Thanks everyone. Just organised a trip there for a bit later in the year. Plan is Summit on Friday and Syfydrin on Saturday with a group of six others. I can’t wait now, after you’ve all praised it so highly.

Bonty strips are great. I paid £2.99 for each strip and each valve.

    http://www.bontrager.com/model/02566/en

Take care as there are several types but unless you have asymmetric rims the “standard or wide” ones should do the job. Remove existing rim strip/tape. Fit Bonty strip. The valve is separate and just needs lining up with the rim strip and tightening up slightly beyond finger tight (in my experience).

Like all tubeless stuff they seal much better/faster with a tubless ready or UST tyre.

I have an ATC3K. I use a USE Joystick MaXx helmet mount. There is a tripod screw hole in the bottom of the ATC3K that happens to fit the nylon bolt used in the Joystick MaXx helmet mount. I don’t know if there is one on the ATC5K. I did have to trim the bolt length to suit my Giro Xen.

This is it Exposure MaXx Helmet Mount.

The only issue I have now is how to stop the clacking noise that I think is caused by the helmet itself.
