I had planned to cycle up one of the local hills with a great view over the south downs to release my balloons, but going to the park with my wife and son and releasing them there seemed more appropriate…that’s his finger pointing and asking where the balloons are going :-)

It’s worth buying this online – White Peak Guide There is a free sample route at the foot of the page if that just happens to be in the area you want to go.

I used this book whilst up there last summer, there were a couple of routes which went through Eyam

    This One ?

According to the article the button works slightly differently, push and hold to turn on –

“The system is easy to use, with a single push-button on top. Push and hold to turn on, push once to switch between high and low power modes, hold for two seconds to go into flashing mode, push and hold to turn off. Simple”

As already said it gives you a breadcrumb to follow, you can add “track points” for junctions and turns if you save your route as a tcs file. The device will then give you a countdown in time/distance to track point and the action to tack (Left, right, straight on) it also gives you an visual and audio cue when you get to that point.

The 500 also gives you a audio and visual warning when you go off route.

One thing to note, track points can not be added through the Garmin Connect software available online, You can add them easily via bikeroute toaster for road rides, but I’ve not found a good solution for offroad rides…although to be honest I haven’t looked that hard.

My Baa-Baa isn’t as form fitting as my Icebreaker, more like a t-shirt fit I guess. I find it itchier than the Icebreaker too, but in use I have no problem with it.

I have to say the Icebreaker gets the most use, but they are a bit more expensive.

Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 aims to bring together creation and consumption on one device.

Windows 8 RT will ship with Office home and student RT, which should provide you with all you need.

So if you can hang on until the end of the month it could be an option?

Here’s a map that shows the recommended cycle access –

    Box Hill PDF

The race route is going to be closed from 4am, but I believe you can still cycle alomg the London Rd just north of Dorking.

I thought windows live essentails allowed you to set time limits –

    Windows Live Essentials

Edit: Actually having looked at it, i think it only allows you to limit what time of day they can use it i.e. only between 4pm and 6pm, not “maximum of 30 minutes”.

I had a 1:1 with Jedi about two years ago, and a group session with someone else about a year before that.

1:1 with Jedi was more expensive, but deffinately worth it, the guy has great coaching skills. Got me riding faster through corners, landing drops more consistently and jumping doubles.

I guess everyone is different, but I’ve read mags and watched dvds before, but never picked anything up as well.

My understanding was UST Tyres and Rims don’t need the goo (UST Tyres being thicker to prevent reduce the number of punctures, and UST rims having a better seal).

As others have said, might as well put some goo in there to seal any punctures you might get, or you could try without and see how you get on?

Its all down to the order you put the air in, I had the same issue with mine. I can’t remember which way round is right, but try emptying both and doing the opposite way to what you did before.

That kit looks like the right one, but it only contains the internal o-rings, you might want to also get a seal kit as well –

Or, depending on what fork oil etc you already have –

Forgot to mention, all the times we have been we have been able to ski down to the Vanoise, then it’s just jump in a lift, down a flight of steps and onto the yoghurt pots.

One year we even managed to ski all the way down to Nancroix…I dont think that is possible very often though, so dont get your hopes up.

We’ve stayed in Nancroix a few times, getting to and from the slopes is no problem, as others have said the yoghurt pots run from the center of the village up. Nightlife in the village is limited, there are a couple of bars, depends on what you are after. The yoghurt pots stop running in the evening, so you would need to use the bus service to get up to/down from Vallandry, I think it is free (I don’t remember paying).

You can walk down from Vallandry, which is an entertaining experience after a night out with only the light from a mobile phone to guide you.

As many have said there is loads you can do to the outside of the property to improve it, these guys are local to us, and although I’ve never used them some of the improvements they have made are pretty impressive –

After a bit of research and visiting a store that had a large display of tents we went for a Kampa Frinton 4

Seemed to be the same quality as the Outwells, but a bit cheaper, perhaps because they are not as well known over here. It has two beadrooms, that can be opened up into one large bedroom, or one can be removed for a bigger living area.

Only complaint is the guylines, the outer sheath wrinkles up around the core, still works, but I’ll probably get around to replacing them one day.

You could do a pretty decent ride from Cowdray golf course, pick up the Byway by Budgenor lodge A286, and then go explore Northheath, Beaxly hill and Verdley woods. Further afield (15minutes drive), give Roegate a try for some downhill, their facebook page will tell you how to get a permit (£4). Other than that head down to cocking and pick up the southowns way.

We have the MacPac Vamoose, fits both me and the wife really well (Adjustable back length) and is comfortable to carry for at least as long as it takes the boy in it to get bored, and want to start walking himself

Isn’t the Aspira range aimed at mountaineers, hence the crampon patches, reinforced knees, drop seat etc.? I tried on a pair in pegglars last winter and they seemed good, just overkill for what I wanted.

I do have a torres smock from Paramo, which is great for pulling on whilst belaying or at food stops, pretty bulky compared to a down jacket, but being able to put it over a wet shell means it’s ideal for UK mountains.

“all they said was to use normal detergent (with NO softener) and tumble dry, alternatevly if its still not beading to spray on a tx direct spray onto the jacket itself, but NOT wash it in the liquid stuff….”

Just to be clear, the liquid stuff (TX Direct wash in) isn’t actually a cleaner, it’s just a proofer, nikwax recommend you wash the garment first in their techwash (but normal soap flakes are cheaper) before applying.

I’ve always thought you should use the spray-on tx for shell jackets, the wash in one is only for clothing with a lining.

I’ve got an 08 plate golf estate 2.0 TDI, I really like it. Drives well, and I can fit the bike, with wheels off, in the boot and have the seats up so no-one knows it’s there. With the seats down the bike fits in complete, no problem.

I would have got another one as my next car, but a Passat works out cheaper on the company car scheme.

It’s as hard as you want to make it.

I know what you mean Yeti, but saying you dont need to train might be a bit missleading, if all you currently do is a 1 hour spin once a week it wont be much fun.

Hi Flatfish, I think it was you I tagged along with for some of the ride, were you paired up with a girl who wanted a riding partner? I was the first timer on the yellow cotic..

I did it this year, it was hard, but good fun. Deffinately not a race, more of an adventure.

As for type of riding, expect a bit of everything, including pushing :D

The Golf Estate is worth considering, it’s got a bigger boot than an A4 and a 3 Series. I can fit Family camping kit inside with the bikes on the roof.

Economy wise I get on average 56 MPG from a 2ltr TDI.

    5.Click OK.

    Word 2007 or Word 2010
    1.Start Word.
2.In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word Options.

In Word 2010, select Options from the File tab.
