About an hour and a half at CP8 according to adventurepedlars on IG. Some nice pictures there too.

Ahh, cheers scotroutes, I didn’t realize that. If they’re not manned, what makes a checkpoint different from any other point on the map? Is there a stamp at that point where each rider must stamp their card or something?

You’d have thought he would’ve got to cp6 by now though, it’s only 20 miles from his last position. Unless it’s a really tough 20 miles.

Sad to hear this news. Condolences to his family. I was an avid follower of his posts on MTBR. I was fascinated to see his projects develop.

If you have any water tanks in your loft make sure they’re covered up. I’ve heard the poison makes them very thirsty.

This looks like a good route HT550. I think the race is full for 2017, but the route could be done earlier. Plenty of bothies, and there are write ups of other people’s attempts.
“Bikepacker.com” and “bikepacking.com” are both full of interesting info.

Could you see whether any of the older rides coincide with someone on Strava?

He might not have switched his tracker on yet, his name is on the start list though.

Is it possible to follow you on strava, or some tracking website like on the tour divide?

Can’t you buy both sizes, then send one back? Some company’s do free returns.

If he disappears with the money, and then the company goes under, what position will you be in bearing in mind that you knew that this was going on?

“he swerved violently and a laptop and some lights fell into his lap”?
Where would a laptop have been to have fallen into his lap?

This one looks like something from the star wars movie.
Hope he has them ready before Christmas….

Thanks PMK. Might go for the Boardman FS Team. Should end up about £785 if you include the £20 to join BC.

Ay up, I’m thinking of getting this phone but the asda website says it’s CDMA. No I didn’t know what it meant either, but I think all UK networks are GSM and need a SIM card. Does anyone know if the ASDA Moto G works in the UK with Sim cards?
    Apologies for the techno-geek question.

How is the bike? I’m interested in this one myself. I’ll probably go the British Cycling route though to get the discount.

You don’t know how bad it’s going to be until after you’ve watched it.
In the past, the first episode of a new series has had some good stuff in it. That upcoming Caterham looks good.

Well that’s an hour I won’t get back.
    Worst episode I’ve seen.

I’ve read that the Huawei G300 is a good phone, and less than £100 to buy from tesco direct. You can get it for £70ish if you open an account with a couple of other sites. details are on hotukdeals.
