I've often fantasised about somehow getting the keys off them and throwing them away but the logistics are problematic to say the least.

My mate did this a few years ago to some yob who was looking for a fight after cutting us up. After he got out of the car and started threatening me my mate calmy rode over to his car took his keys out of the ignition and then waved them at him before riding off. He went about 50m with the yob chasing him down before hurling them into a field of wheat and shouted good luck finding them ya @@@@!!

I was cut up in Ambleside a few months ago by a car pulling out of a side street. We fully stared each other in the eyes before he pulled out so I knew he saw me but still pulled out and forced me on to the other side of the road in to the incoming traffic. Luckily they're was nothing coming the other way at the time but I struggled to keep up right.
Oh yeah and I had my 18month old son on the back of my bike!!!!
When I pulled up to his window as hestopped in traffic 20ft later he basically said you shouldn't be on the road!
How exactly do you responde to that??!!

Based on usual cinemas id say its one of the worst places. If you have to rake you head up and can't see the full screen without shaking your head you've gotta be too close

Thought that was the case with one shared folder but if you have a shared folder on each network which is synced would this be the same?

Just a thought, If i'm working on a document in office 1 and someone else opens and alters the same document on office 2 how does it sync the data if both copies have been altered?

Cheers for info guys, I'll get someone to come in and make some suggestions and get some costs. Cougars idea sounds like it would most suit us. A server at each office so both offices could work locally but having a main shared folder that could be synced. A VPN to one of the networks would provide off site access to all info.
Whats the most affective Backup procedure then. At the moment it is done automatically with the Externall HDD being taken off site to cover fires etc. I'm assuming some kind of off site automatic back up is the way forward

At the moment the offices are independant. The connection is what they want to establish. The offices work as independant businesses and at the moment what little files the Boss needs is shared via Live Sync (windows Live) as there is little shared at the moment. The Boss wants Full acces though and effectivly a centralised Files stoarge location with joint access

Sorry, a bit more info. We have two offices.
In 1st office only has one PC. Backups are done by person on this office daily on a removable HDD that is taken away.
In the 2nd office there are 5 PC's and 5 members of staff. All work files are held on a network storage drive so everyone can access. Backups are done from this daily and taken away as is done in the other office.
The Boss wants to access files from the two offices from both locations and also from home (we operate a 24 hours service so a member of staff being able to access these files from home would be beneficial).
Files are basically held in a clients folder and everyone uses these files if dealing with that client.

At the moment things seem tickety boo and runs well with speed, security (closed network) and backups. My concenrn is that if a client rings up and it takes an age to open a file then its just unprofessional expecting them to wait, especially as things work well at the mo.

we both built up a wall of resentment to the point (i think) where resentment was the default setting even before anything happened it was presumed the other party would do it wrong, badly, late etc

mmmm sounds like my other half. I'll dump her if you do!!
Although if yours is willing to talk it might work…

The descent point is an interesting one. If Schleck had got over the top on his own, it looks like the twins and Bertie would have caught him any way?

Maybe, but he'd still have a 31 second lead and the yellow jersey…

All in all it makes for a few more days of exciting riding. Schlecks got to attack and punish the spanish snake. Contador's gotta open up a big enough time gap now to prove that he didn't win the tour on a slipped chain. So for Jo public it'll make it a better tour.
That said he is a twonk for attacking and after days of them both matching each other Contador took the time by taking advantage, not by superior performance. I do believe Schleck would have waited, he come across as an honourable bloke who wouldn't have wanted his 1st tour victory on those terms.
For those of you that think Schleck couldn't have put anytime into Contador. Did you seem him after he got back on the bike? I know it was adrenalin fueled but come on. He dropped 36 second on the chain and only 39 second overall. Thats a 3 second drop to get yourself up a BIG climb and then down a descent with no help and a couple of hanger on's whilst Contador shared the work in a pack of strong GC contenders all trying to put time into Andy.

nickc….for the record, Contador did not wait for Schleck in stage two. He waited for a lot of riders after a lot of crashes, one of which happened to be Andy. Andy didn't wait for his Brother in stage 3 as he didn't get up and wasn't able to carry on racing. Thats the benefit of team radio's and knowing whats happening. If Frank had of been able to carry on then the team would have made a decison about getting him back but either way its not taking advantage of another opponent.

Yepa, although I meant on Friday!!! Peeded it down at about 5ish for a short time after being nice all day and me putting off a practise lap. I persisted and went out anyway and that 1st wooded section was pretty unrideable on my Nobby Nics. Mud was like poo glue and went down 3 times just tryng to walk it.
It nicely dried out though but that 1st wooded section stayed like an Acme glue spill for the rest of the weekend

Smart Phones are very handy if you utilze them. iPhones are great but this is just one phone in a market of smart phones.
I personally wouldn't be without my iPhone now, Not that I couldn't but they are just to damn handy.
Example from last weekend at Mayhem.
    – Used the Mapping software to help get be there.
    – After a down pour on Saturday I was ablt to then keep abreast of weather reports specific to the area
    – I was able to check my emails and surf online which meant I sold the Groupset i've been flogging whilst sat in the sun and picked up a couple of bargains off here
    – Using the Paypal app I then withdrew the money into my account so my the time I got home I actually had the money.
    – Sunday when I couldn't be arsed to cook I could google the location of a local Pizza place to get takeaway
    – Through email was able to check my training plan & work rota so I can arrange the next event with my mates whilst there
    – Was able to listen to a selcection of 200+ albums over the weekend through my sound dock and through the car stereo
    – Oh and also managed to ring & text a few people whilst there who couldn't find our tents

So could I have done without it? Yes, of course. Having it made the weekend a lot more enjoyable though and thats from someone that doesn't have loads of the available apps as well

Also, if you think about it, the bike constantly accelerates and decelerates throught the pedal stroke. If yours doesn't you'll be given a new gold necklace in 2012

Bingo. Out of the saddle on a big hill and roational inertia will make a difference.

I'm not sure if I would have shown as much restraint as the OP but to be honest at this stage I would be visiting the girls Father.
He played by the rules and kept calm and look what happended.

At this point I would be taking action into my own hands. I don't necassarily mean violence but something needs to be done.
If the Father is an account then I'd be finding out where he worked and showing up one day to cause a fuss in front of his employers. Let him know that your visits to his work will not stop until he controls his child.

Some drivers are just dumb. riding down a main road one day an ambulance came from the rear lights a blazin. So the twonk in the car in the lane next to me just pulls straight over without even looking. Problem was there was barriers for about 100 meters on the pavement so no where for me to go. Ended up hopping off my bike and on to his bonnet before I got squashed and even then he didn't notice me!!!
With him still looking in his wing mirror I ended up beating on his windscreen. The look on his face when he turned round to find me sat on hs bonnet beating his window was priceless. That sheer look of horror on his face was the only thing that saved him from getting a slap

    OK sorted cheers everyone.

God know's why t wasn't playing ball. I set the default gateway on the Devil PC to the router and then rebooted comp and router and this seems to have done the trick.

    Thanks again

OK This is weird. I've just looked in the LAN settings and on the client list is the Devils computor?!?!? I've just checked the comp, no connection, come back to here and refreshed the list and its now gone?
What the hell? It did have an IP address assigned before….

I've had a nosey around the settings an there is nothing obvious out of plave.
I tried changing the UPnP to active but this hasn;t made a difference

As previously said, i've never had an issue with this in the past and must have built 15+ new computers here at work and connected to the same network with no problems.
Does the networking of traffic happen on the motherboard at any point? Ie from the lan connection to the rest of the system? just wondering if it is a fault with the board or if that's impossible if I've had the same problem with a PCI lan connection

Cheers lads. I've just pinged 192.168.1.1 which is the default gateway for my internet connection on this comp. I think i'm rioght in saying this is the ip for the router….

anyways pinging from the devils comp and it send 4 packets and then promtly losses the lot! 4 out nothing in…

I'll have the last word, I'll even put a question mark on the end of it if thats ok?

    gravitysucks

Right, so a "bit" is ok. A "lot" is not. Farmer is at fault when theres a "lot" and he / she hasn't attempted to turn it into a "bit".

Shall we wait to see how much there actually was? OP bang a picture up of said road. As with anything there has to be a line somewhere, then you can all decide on which side on the line the road is….

    Or carry on arguing 😉

    gravitysucks

    yep read it. Isn't it just speculative to assume that may have been the case in this situation? Drivers are crap sometimes but you clearly held fault with the OP without commentating on the cyclists actions;
I can only assume this is because you would do the same… good luck with that…

So you overtook a cyclist at 20mph (ie. marginally quicker than him), to join a queue of traffic going slower than the cyclist. And then you consider the CYCLIST to be doing something wrong?
    F^&*ing typical that is.

    Crap Troll 1 / 10.

He was in moving traffic. The traffic slowed for a junction, the bike didn't. The OP was questioning the undertaking manoeuvre of the cyclist.
No mention of poor overtaking of cars. I suppose you've never safely overtaken a cyclist in fluctuating traffic 🙄

Truly commendable. It kind of encompasses what and who the Sherpas are. I have no doubt of their outstanding amount of experience with the mountain but even with 20 experienced sherpas accidents can and do happen.
I truly hope the expedition is a successful and safe one.
Most of all I hope that future climbers see this for what it is; Honourbale people doing what they can for something they hold dear. Not a bunch of muppets that will clean up after were home safe and sound.
