From what your saying this come across more as bad habits than dependancy.

Why not try tackling things proactivly. You say you ride a lot to punish yourself and that get up around 11a.m.
As of next week start geting up early and riding in the morning instead. It won’t be a massive change of lifestyle, more your sleep pattern. If your getting up at say 6:00a.m. and going out for a two hour spin then coming back to breakfast / shower being fit to tackle the world by 9:00a.m.
It sounds stupid but if you can get yourself into this routine you’ll be feeling healthy, you’ll be more tired at night and going to bed earlier and sleeping better.
You won’t have time to drink into the early hours or the inclination if you know your up early riding.

I use to be up 4 times a week at 5.30a.m. last year. I loved it, you really do have the world to yourself at that time. As the mornings get lighter it’ll get easier and easier. I loved it last year, I use to ride through Lyme park everytime at 5:45a.m. and literally ride through a pack of 40 deer / stags thats always use to congrigate at the same spot. I really miss the early mornings, unfortunately the OH has changed her shift pattern so I don;t get the oppurtunity anymore 🙁

Gone for a large top which is spot on but they’d sold out or large tights so in true yeti fashion I went for the medium. struggled to get them on but now feel super snug. Will have to see if I pass out within the hour.

Yep but that’ll be the parents who have no real interst in their childs education.

My first step would always be to talk to his teacher and make sure he’s up to scratch not struggling with anything etc. It could be quite a bargaining tool as well to encourage them to get stuck in and improve in the months running up to it.

Funny that. When making desicions about my children I tend to think about whats best for them.

It not all black and white is it. There’s a big difference between taking a struggling student away during exams for two weeks and taking an above average 7 year old away for a few days.

TJ’s immovable standpoint on this matter I think might change if he had kids.

Yes my children’s education is important, thats why its such a big part of our home life as well. That said I wouldn’t think twice about pulling my child out of school for a day or two for something I or he determined important.

I also want to install some values in my children like determination, desire and god forbid maybe some dreams and aspirations.
I’ll encourage them to do well and support their hobbies and interests.
If my boy is as keen on cycling when he’s seven as he is now (4) then I would def pull him from school for a day to watch his heroes ride past him whilst he cheers them on.

You can find that kind of inspiration and awe in a book or classroom.

Go for it Stoner. Your child. You know how he’s doing and how it will affect him. Its not like they’ll be teaching some brand new skills and lessons in the last week of the school year is it!

Trying to tighten a zip tie up with a pair of long pliers because the zip tie was to small for the job.
Pliers lost grip and I stabbed myself in the face with said pliers wiuth some force.
Panic and blood flowed until I got to a mirror and reaslised i’d just caugt the very edge of my eye socket.
About 2mm lower and i’d be a pirate now. Still makes me cringe when I think about it.

Just listened to SNL and now want to hit her in the face with a frying pan.
