They were attending a routine incident Loddrick. Would you prefer it if there were no female officers and every parking violation and such was attended my an armed officer?

Just another reminder of how people can take for granted what situations these officers can walk into at anytime.

I’ve just finished my training as a special so wil be operational and on the streets in a weeks time. Something like this is a real eye opener.

Spent the day chasing pros at Stoke so thought I might as well give you an update.

As last year every pro we met was thoroughly nice and friendly.
Hung round the sky bus waiting for the team to come out and as the crowds were massive they had barriers up, My 3 year old boy, who was waiting patiently to meet his heroes was at the front and they just let him jump the barriers and mooch round in front of the bus. We waited for about 40 mins and in this time he played with his toy car at the feet of all the sky staff and wandered about Ned Boulting and David Brailsfords legs.
When the riders came out one by one they all gave time to the fans signed autographs and had pics taken.
My lad ended up with his tour cap signed by all six riders (Wiggo, Cav, Knees, Hunt, Eisle and Rowe) as well as Brailsford and Boulting. They even gave him one of there water bottles (had to throw the contents away so he didn’t have the squits all day, god knows what it was, minging).
My lad even went and asked Cav where Dowsey was (Alex Dowsett) as he was his favourite lol

My 5 year old daughter was shouting Cav at the start line and when he looked over she shouted “I love you” he gave her a little wave and blew her a kiss. Proper made her day!!

So nothing has been changed in my mind, the Sky team are nothing but down to earth gents and a true inspiration to youngsters. I’d rather my kids have these as heroes than some stuck up celebrity that’s famous for being famous.

A lot of speculation on here. Maybe there was a delay in the schedule, maybe things come up in the team meeting that had to be addressed.
I’d like to add that every time I’ve met a pro rider from sky it’s been a great experience and they’ve had time for the fans.
I’d add that there departure from the bus would have been scheduled as well. It’s not like they just wander off whenever they feel like it.

Try something like an 80 and you’ll notice a big difference without hitting the other extreme of 50mm.

Buy a second hand Thomson one of here for £35 ish and you’ll be able to sell on for the same price nay bother so you can try it and go shorter or longer until you find your match.

Bigsi, if your saying that the 5k matters because of the loan then you might want to point out that the loan is the same as the mortgage and needs to be paid of in full before any equity is taken out. After all the home improvements will have increased the house value.

On the 5k front just think how much you paid extra in those first 8 or 9 years. It’s not hard to work out if you put in just £500 more than her a month this equates to £48k over 8 years. That’s a hell of a lot more than the £15k she put in.

IMO pay the mortgage, any outstanding bills, loans etc. give her 15k then split the rest 50/50. That is more than reasonable.

– its not a hearse, sorry to disappoint. It’s a black estate car. I do have tinted windows and a stretcher in the boot though
– Others are allowed to drive it (friends / partner etc) as long as they are over 21.
– I pay record and pay the company for personal mileage petrol.

Mk1fan – I think you have it. I think it’s a BIK tax but it’s not optional. I’m forced to have it and take home etc.

If they have a right to use it whilst I’m recuperating then where do I stand and who’s responsible for collecting dropping it off etc.
If they have it for a few days then I don’t have use of it evenings / weekends.

I’m not arsed about not having it when I’m laid up anyway but it does take the mick when I need it for dropping kids off etc. As said they don’t seem to appreciate that they’ve forced me into a position of having a car then expect me to be without a car when it suits them.

No not all. He didn’t pretend to fall, he lost control through a wheel slip and managed to gain enough control to fall in a safe and controlled manner. Totally different to just crashing on purpose.

Track sprint rules are there to the benefit of compitition not to the detriment of it.
No sprinter wants to win a compition by a mishap that is common place within the sport and they have prob done themselves a thousand times.

This rule was created to stop racing being a farce and compitions being decided by mishaps instead of the sporting prowess the athletes train for and want to compete against.

Again a non issue fro track sprinters and those in the know.

Non cyclists prob won’t understand why GC contenders won’t attack when there close rival gets a puncture.

It’s all about winning for the right reasons because your the best athlete not because you gained an advantage because of a common mishap from your competitor. I think this says more about the Olympic spirit than anything else, would the rivals really want to win an olympic gold because of a tyre slip out the gates? I don’t think so and they’d be the first to agree to a restart.

Do you mean to do the best performance they possibly can within the rules. To not cheat, cross any lines or take any unfair advantage.

If the rules permitted a restart for Sanchez in the time trial would everyone have branded him a cheat because he took the opportunity??

Team gb stated ‘mechanical failure’ but he bailed on the bike to seek a better start. We cheated and we don’t deserve the medal. We cheated plain as simple. Forget the interview, just watch the evidence and listen to the commentators suspicions

Biggest load of codswallop I’ve ever heard. Would you like to point out which rule was broken?

Anyone who knows track sprinting knows this is a non issue. People want to see a competition between the best in the world. They want to see peak sporting performance.
No one wants to see gold medals being won because of slippage or mechanicals that are common place in the sport.

Ok maybe he’s not media savvy and a little naive but come on he’s 19 yrs old. Should he really have to second guess people who dont understand the sport and might jump on him.

This just reminds me of the lazy reporting of GB road race members not being able to keep up with the peloton at the end of the race because they don’t understand they turned themselves inside out fr 5 hours because no other teams would help pull a breakaway back.

I think a key point here is escalation.
If he wasn’t arrested and shown the consequences of his behaviour do you think he would have stopped or gained momentum and continued threatening, abusing and bullying people?

Was looking mainly at CBR600F or SV650’s mainly because I’m 6’2″ and I’m not a daft racer so will keep myself reigned in.
