We got one of these and he loves it
http://m.gooutdoors.co.uk/hi-gear-boom-kids-sleeping-pod-p286222Sleeping bag is a false description though. We just call it a bag, since not much sleeping goes on in it. Bouncing bag might be a better description.
gravity-slaveFree MemberWhat do you use it for?
Just got a 520 and it’s great compared to a 510. Base maps make folloiwng a breadcrumb trail easier.
Maps are zoomable but you can’t pan
Maps limited to 90mb
No navigationNone of those are issues for me as I plan ahead, download a local map (tablet using usb-otg) and follow courses rather than need turn by turn nav.
I prefer keys to touch screen.
Not sure compared to the 800 but if you need nav or powerful mapping, mayne not.
gravity-slaveFree MemberWhat would you recommend instead?
Slamming your cock in a kitchen drawer. Altogether less painful…
gravity-slaveFree MemberImagine giving a courier a 1m sqaure to deliver to. No more ‘couldn’t find the address’. You can even specify your front or back door, or ‘safe place’.
Trying to describe the start of a trail? 100 vauge words of poor description, or 3 random words to pinpoint it.
Or trying to let someone where you are? Defines a nice small grid.
I think it’s got potential and is pretty cool.
gravity-slaveFree MemberWhat’s wrong with the X1 and is the cable long enough to put the battery in your pack or pocket?
I have an X1 and X2, been using them for 14 months now, most weeks. Have been great. The extension with the X1 fits in a pack, or high pocket. Conversely to above, I hate extra weight on a lid so love the battery in a pocket.
That light combo is enough for me to hit near daytime speeds, or even PB’s, at night
gravity-slaveFree MemberBugger ;) Good news, I suppose.
Thanks, I’ve got a 150mm Stealth and looking to drop it to the collar on occasion. Looks like the Stealth only comes in 430mm version so should be good to go, cheers baddddad
gravity-slaveFree MemberI use either Sonos or a Chromecast Audio. Chromecast Audio for £30 will stream 6Music to a HiFi over WiFi.
gravity-slaveFree MemberGo new for wear and warranty for sure, w did and new nice, but not resale. Watching Vistas on eBay at the moment and I’m a bit disappointed. Will watch a few more then be sticking it on hear at realistic value.
gravity-slaveFree MemberDaydreaming?
Bike storage. Just couldn’t even view a house without, or potential for, secure bike storage and workshop.
After that, location based on access to riding, work, airport and now, schools. Probably in that order but might need to reassess the last one!
Then must look nice, I like old houses. Cherry on top for me is garden that catches evening sun.
gravity-slaveFree MemberPTFE seals the thread.
Crush washer seals the mating face.
On a fork you are trying to keep lube in the lowers, which needs a face seal. The oil isn’t in the mating threaded part.
A little wrap round the neck can help though.gravity-slaveFree MemberUppababy Vista was our choice too, based on similar to above.
Big basket, easy fold, good wheels, single hand recline, carry cot also works for travel and nights away and was in use as a buggy up to 2 1/2 years old. The only wheeled transport we used for him – as well as slings and carriers, but it’s nice to be able to put him to sleep in it and step away. It was great.2 friends also had the Vista, one stop going strong with kid no. 2.
As it happens, got an all black Vista we’re going to sell, (carrycot and buggy) with red ‘footmuff’ and maxi cosi car seat adaptors. Email in profile if of any interest.
gravity-slaveFree MemberHey, that would be cool, ta.
No email in your profile, can you drop me one and sort something out? You still up the hill from us?gravity-slaveFree MemberAh, thought that was for a Park stand. Cheers. Looks like I can get something turned or even printed.
Could be time to upgrade this, which has done me (and many DH racers) proud:
gravity-slaveFree MemberCan’t see how the wheel holds into the jobsworth, looks like it is slotted for qr axles. How would it handle bolt through? I guess I could turn up a ‘tip adaptor’.
gravity-slaveFree MemberChester, I believe Mr Whiles has access to a CMM and the comment was tounge in cheek… :)
1 1/8″ steerer/stem clamp had been around for a long time. Looked like we were heading 1.5 at one point.
Seatpost diameter used to be all over the place but seems to have settled down. No 40mm frame with integrated dropper yet…
Saddle rails. I’m pretty sure the seat from my 1984 road bike would fit my Reverb!
Handlebar grip diameter.
Water bottle boss bolt spacing…
gravity-slaveFree MemberI don’t know about card and RFID but I stayed in a hotel in Oslo that used NFC keycards for the rooms. I used my Nexus 5 to see if I could read a card and it worked. I then set it to delete and managed to wipe a colleagues card that he put in his back pocket. Did it a few times and he was back and forward to reception to get his ‘faulty’ card replaced. Minutes of fun. Not beyond belief that I could have copied rather than wiped I guess.
gravity-slaveFree MemberCould be tricky depending on what your wife classes as a ‘stereo’.
Do you get WiFi in the kitchen?
Have you got a location near a power socket?Sounds like you are looking to link the stereo rather than a stand alone unit?
If you have WiFi (or could fit something like a powerline extender), some active speaker(s) to suit the space/limitations and a Chromecast Audio could do the trick.
Add another Chromecast Audio to your other stereo and you have multiroom, similar to Sonos, for £60.
It’s slightly convoluted though and could mean 3 plugs (speakers, Chromecast, powerline), which might start to make a simple all in 1 streamer appealing?
gravity-slaveFree Memberreplace with standard M5 screws with hex key
This, but M4 fit better
gravity-slaveFree MemberThat’s a decent loop but will be mega hard to navigate.
The ‘official’ red must be over 10 year old and only ever got as far as the bottom of the brilliant ‘XC descent’ then stopped so after that it’s a case of making a loop up from what you can find.
Persoanlly I avoid until dry weather now.
Greno is awesome in all weathers but again not an XC loop, there are 3 relatively easy and awesoem ‘DH’ tracks.
Parkwood Springs worth a look but very short, you won’t want to do 30km round there.
For XC you’d be better riding from the city out to the Peaks, either Rivelin Valley or Endcliffe Park, but nothing waymarked so maps/Strava segments of getting shown…
gravity-slaveFree MemberI’d say avoid, without time to explore or someone to show you round.
Sounds like you are after a loop rather than DH tracks?
gravity-slaveFree MemberThere’s not an official loop to follow. Great riding in the dry when you know the woods though.
Also not a question of ‘never bothered’ from the people that started it, but more from the FC that didn’t support the volunteer effort.
gravity-slaveFree Membersome “up skirt” photos
Missed this until now but those photos show it’s not a Record. Record vices have a separate nut for the screw. The nut is SG iron (for lubrication and strength) and sits in a dovetail groove in the body and is secured by a pin. There’s no pin hole on that one, looks like the nut is cast as part of the body. If it fails or wears then the vice is done.
Record used to sell a spare nut kit. The pin is knocked out, nut replaced, pulled tight then a new pin fitted. The curves on the dovetail allows the nut to self align with the main screw.
gravity-slaveFree Member£35 less than CRC here…
http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/garmin-edge-520-speed-and-cadence-sensor-hrm-id90173.html
£80 worth of sensors, flog the bits if you want head unit only…
gravity-slaveFree MemberI hesitate to recommend them after their duff info and poor knowledge led to an epic runaround for my Mrs this morning, but JE James have the bundle in stock at a good price. Only in Rotherham store and on the website.
Nowhere else has it cheaper that CRC from what I found.
gravity-slaveFree MemberGoredale Scar and Janet’s Foss is a great loop.
I like the walk from Grassington, through grass wood then along the tops. This, in either direction, then bus back for the car.
http://www.dalesbus.org/Walks/BusWalks_1.htmlBrilliant road riding round there too…
gravity-slaveFree MemberEvil genius!
Now all he needs to do is link username to Strava profile, find the privacy zone postcode and with house number, has full address…
gravity-slaveFree MemberOh, and a big fan helps keep you cool.
I got one on a deal from ScrewFix think it’s 18″ 3 or 4 speed.Noisy, but I use headphones and baby monitor with lights in eyesight. Let’s me exercise when the Mrs is out.
gravity-slaveFree MemberRollers are great. Enjoy mine.
Spend some time on setup, front roller needs to be just in front of the front hub, not too far. Makes a big difference in handling.
First ride might be tricky. They get easier quickly. Cadence drills are good fun, 90rpm, spin up to 120, drop to 60 etc.
Watch something to keep you entertained, but watch out for headcam footage, wrecks your balance!
gravity-slaveFree MemberDammit! ;)
Ok so buying more of the same lasers just means they do more damage?
Not played this one, but on the original, no. You can only mount one laser at once. Buying more lets you mount them in different locations, like rear or sides. Tip – rear laser works well in a dogfight. Get the enemy following you, switch to rear laser and pop away. Watch rear shields though.
gravity-slaveFree MemberSaw a video on this one. Just answer ‘Yes’ to everything they ask you…
Hello
Yeeeesss?
Is that Mr xxxxx
Yes!
Great. Have you had an accident?
Yes!
Can you tell me your date of birth?
YesThey are hooked now….
So what is your DOB?
Yes…Can you tell me it?
Yes!etc
Dad did this. After several confusing minutes the caller twigged and asked my Dad “Are you stupid?” Dad said “Yes!” and the guy hung up!
Can’t wait for a cold call.
gravity-slaveFree MemberChromecast Audio sounds great to me and reviews very well.
Picked mine up for £23 at the airport so gave it a go. Hooked it up to the hotel WiFi when away, powered off my backup battery and plugged my decent headphones in and streamed Google Play. It sounded way better than my phone, lots of detail and previously unheard stuff. Optical out to a DAC should be even better. Hope you can get it working well, I’m very impressed with mine.gravity-slaveFree MemberOnce over the age of 16, you should only ever wear sports attire while taking part in the sporting activity it is actually for.
Love the Mash’s take on ‘tracksuits’
gravity-slaveFree MemberCharging – I’ve gone ‘native’ – got one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Desktop-Charger-PowerIQ-Technology-Motorola/dp/B00KHN9SE4/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1453217432&sr=8-8&keywords=anker+chargerIt uses a figure 8 lead, so get one with an EU 2 pin on and a few 30cm micro USB cables. Very compact package especially when you don’t pack a single 3 pin plug!
Will do tablet, our phones and GoPro overnight. Camera uses the same power lead so I just take the small charging block and that’s everything covered.
gravity-slaveFree MemberPlant is a massive target
I worked on a warehouse project once and our hire fork lift was stolen. CCTV showed it being driven away around the industrial estate! Hardly quick, or stealthy!
gravity-slaveFree MemberMy little boy, 3, woke up this morning and looked out of the window.
He said the snow had gone. I asked if he knew where it had gone, he said “Someone else’s house, it’s their turn to play with it!”
gravity-slaveFree MemberRiding off road off road bikes on closed private mx tracks is motocross and it’s bags of fun.
Riding road registered bikes on legal rights of way likes BOATs is classed as enduro or green laning, not motocross.
Riding illegally is just illegal, no defence or justification. It’s way more damaging and dangerous than mtbing on footpaths and plain stupid. Not even comparable and not a sport. Not giving a flying fk is part of being a bell end. Bell endery Venn diagram will contain a few offroad bikers, but it’s got many other members too.
gravity-slaveFree MemberPresumably clarifying on an MTB forum that it’s the motorised form, as opposed to bicycle. Or sheep dog.
