I live about 2 mins from a place called Crosshands(on the A48) about halfway between Afan and Brechfa 😀
Midweek is great for me as my son has a lot of rugby and footie comittments in the am at the weekends, might have to sort some better lights out though.
Also if anybody knows of a nice loop really local to me for evening excursions i’m all ears

I relocated from Southampton to a village about 1/2 way between Brechfa and Afan 7 years ago. I certainly wouldn’t go back. Kids are now bilingual, although the only other place in the world they speak Welsh is Patagonia. Houses are buttons, no mortage now which is also nice. Generally a bit cooler and damper than the south coast.
Jobs wise I would say that the recession hasn’t hit as hard here as it has at home.
And the welsh are a really nice welcoming bunch on the whole, you get the odd arsehole, but you get them everywhere.

I think 12mm is way too thin. My wife’s horse is only 14.2 but the ramp on our box is 2x18mm ply. To stop slipping and to allow the ply to breath we put heavy hessian under the timber cross bars. Hope this helps.

Micra or a Polo if you don’t want to spend your whole life fixing it.
Corsa, Clio or Punto if your Dads a mechanic.
1000cc Micra is an awesome little car(not the newest shape one).
Nippy, economical, will cruise at 75-80 all day long.
Also relatively cheap to insure.

55-60p per litre. I have oil fired central heating. Last year it was so expensive we just put an extra jumper on. It goes up and down.
When we bought the house 6 years ago it was 14-17p per litre, thats a 300% rise in 6 years, happy i am not. But on the flip side the view from my front window it to die for 8)
