    Cheers again.
    Ok, rotors & pads scrubbed.
I’ve bled the rear again, gravity & syringe, used a bit of fluid lol. Also this time wound the reach adjust, cheers chaka, I’d forgotten to do that….
Still hardly any bite so I’m thinking the piston seals have maybe gone…
Front bled fine with plenty of bite.
I’ve zip tied both levers to see how that goes.
Will check for leaks on the rear brake later or tomorrow but…

Anywhere got 520 or similar calipers going cheap at the mo?

    Thanks.

Cheers, will do the cleaning thing as a start then. I’ve lubed the pistons and all seem to move freely.
What make pads if I need some more?

    Aviva Plus here.
    Tried Barclays, Halifax & Nationwide.
If you go with Pedalcover check outbuildings cover limit, that goes with all of them actually.

I have been over thinking it for this occasion, it’s a wind up birthday T so went with streetshirt.
I’ll make a note of the others if I need some better quality shirts another time.
    Cheers.

Having looked at NW, Barclays & Halifax, it was cheaper to stay with Aviva in the end….!

    Just spoke to Barclays.
Was told max limit for theft from outbuildings is £3k.
    One down, more to check!

Do you happen to know what Esure’s policy is for bikes kept in outbuildings?

    granny_ring

    Got ya.

I just looked at the Nationwide policy as I have a bank account so I thought it might be a good deal. The bicycle cover section says the below in the What is NOT covered section:

Loss or damage to any bicycle in your home
    caused by:
    • theft or attempted theft
    • malicious damage or vandalism

    “Your home” includes sheds etc.

so even though it says eBikes are covered it specifically excludes theft so I guess they are only covered for accidental damage.

So what’s the point in the cover…..? Makes no sense :-)

@b33k34, I will call a local broker too who I have used in the past. I think the reason I left them was to go to Pedal cover.

Bit of a thread revival as I’m going to have a search.
With Aviva plus at the moment, need insurance that and will cover £5k in shed/outbuilding.
Also need to clarify what the cover is if left in car.
Anyone renewed with anyone that’s not mentioned above?

    What size waist OP?

If you are concerned then spacers are available to go behind the cassette. From memory Sturmey Archer did some thin steel ones, I’ve probably got some, I’ll post you one if you think it’s required.

That would make it worse wouldn’t it?

@andrewreay, cheers. Staying in Bastogne for 3 nights. Booked a guide for 1 day, we have a complete day free so will look at your suggestion cheers.
Was only thinking of staying in Metz if going to Verdun but as there won’t be time for that we’ll stay with the original hotel which is further west.

    @olddonald
, thanks too for info on Mons. It’s only a slight detour on way home so might be worth a quick look.

    Agree mrwhyte.

We have been doing our once yearly trips for 7 years now with a few day trips thrown in as well.

Right having looking at our itnerary and mileage in more deatail, Verdun is now looking like being off the agenda for this upcoming trip unfortunately..

Now thinking about stopping at Mons for a couple of hours instead so it’s looking like a visit to the Memorial Museum.
Again, has anyone been to the Mons (Belgium) area and seen anything else of interest?

    Cheers.

I will stick to providing readings and paying a bill when they send it. Direct debits can **** right off.

Yes there is this option too, might do that myself.

    Thanks for that link uwe

We’ve been to Normandy 3 times and ther’s still a lot more to see.
For this trip it’s just to see WW1 things in Verdun on way home.

    granny_ring

Yes been to Vimy & Menin gate. The service is very moving….

I kind of messed up the title…The main part of the trip is to see the Battle of the Bulge places of interest and thinking about seeing WW1 sites at Verdun on way back.

    Thanks for suggestions so far.
