Sounds good. Am doing my trail and technical trail in early next year. Should be ok as i have been assessed before. So hopefully go for advanced by the end of the year. Not sure about the skills one yet though

We abandoned going for a walk today in favour of lunch at the fox house.
Considering the state of some people who walked in later on it was the right decision

fair enough, may well head that way then, left hand side? Through the deep gulley or down the mud next to the main track, i.e. outside the sunken bit

Easiest way is to head out on the brandon side, rarely gets muddy and grip is pretty much always good. The black esp. gets rotten in the wet

davo – did you ride the bottom section? If so is it as bad as it looks? Its half tempting to take a mate of mine down there on thursday if the weather isn't too bad

No problem, the lines are there but god you have got to hit them exactly right. Its worth going and walking it to see if he fancies it. Certainly wouldn't want to hit it blind

I walked down it yesterday the top section is not too bad, interesting on a bike. The bottom bit (after the little tarmac hump) is really really bad, I would be thinking very hard about riding that section on the track, you could ride on the muddy bit to the side though.
Sorry didn't take any photos but the bottom bit looks seriously bad multiple sequential 12-18" drops and what looks like a few wheel eaters. Half tempted to get the DH bike up there sometime for a laugh though

as an aside just had one where the mail guy decided to watch a nice vid off his USB key and have a quick shuffle before work. Unbeknownst to him his machine was connected to a mirrored display showing the browser in the foyer, you know, the big F off plasma. At 9am…

    Thats quality.
We had someone removed from site for having porn in his desk, got to say if I saw someone watching porn in the office I would report the bastards, its uncalled for at work, at the very least put it onto your mobile and go to the crapper

this disadvantages poor people. How about making food free as then people wouldn't need to store an emergency backup on their bodies ?

Because if we did that then a fair number of them would rapidly reach critical mass and collapse into a human black hole.

Seriously some people (and I do mean some – not including those who do have medical (mental or otherwise) issues) are quite simply gluttons.
And anyway can you seriously say that if you are at an all you can eat buffet you will not try to stuff yourself stupid?

One in particular who is a team leader at work. Intelligent got lots of money but is a fat bastard simply because he is too idle to eat good food. He eats takeaways all the time. And lets be fair judging by the noise he makes when he breathes will expire soon too.

Surely the easiest answer to all of this is for food prices to rise.
Especially the crap that you do see the average chubber in tesco's or iceland eating, Make that stuff expensive and the good food cheaper and they will soon lose weight.
But then who knows, you would soon end up with a version of return of the living dead with armies of fat knackers chasing the innocent once they leave the sanctuary of tescos.
Hmm someone get me that sniper rifle :D

My plan is lots of lights, 4 red ones, going to put a couple of the little flashing ones on my pack, and have my ayups on helmet and bars, plus a cheapo one to make me roughly legal.
My pack has a fair bit of reflective on it but will probably put a yellow Hi-vis over the top of it, lets face it if they cannot see over 600 lumens of light from the front I am screwed either way.
Rozzers might not be quite so impressed though

Do you ride hot though? I.e. are you always warm when riding?
I find I can't wear mine unless it is pretty cold out, less than 5°C otherwise I cook.
When its cold they are amazing though

As soon as work get their arses in gear I will be riding on the road more than off road too this winter. Just easier as I wont have to put the bike in the car to get to trails.
Night riding is worthwhile off road though

I use 5050 xx's and went for long pins on the corners, short pins on the middle line. Seems to work. Although on my DH bike they seem to have all become short pins due to numerous pedal strikes

Will 2nd the Snowline I have got an old one (~14 years) and its still great plenty warm enough for anything down to -15° or so. Infact anything above zero its too warm for me end up sleeping with the bag unzipped.

The other option is a PHD bag, spec it yourself will cost you though.
It will be a PHD when I finally have to replace mine

Ok looking at newer than 5 years, as new as possible for about 6k.
Mondeo is a front runner at the moment, guess I need to drive some really.
VRS octavia would not be good, especially as a new car would come due to me writing off the old one, dread to think what the insurance would be

Well thats a start mate. Ran into someone at the end of the cwmcarn road so waiting to hear if its a write off or not. Will see. I really don't like estates thats the problem. But you are right about saloons they suck

    grahamt1980

Cheers all. Thought about the passat but most of them come in saloon and having had a saloon toledo they are a pain in the arse. Not looking at estates either.

does seem odd that his Hb levels and haematocric didn't drop over the course of the tour like the majority of the other blood results released
