I’m biased as my dad fought in the BoB & his brother died whilst flying in Lancaster’s & his other brother died flying gliders at Arnhem.

As said previously, it’s not just the planes but the people behind them.
The sound of that Merlin engine though is just the canines.

Welsh springers not quite as bouncy as ESS.
I’ve had springers of both nationality for 22 years now, certainly not thick, far from it. Don’t enjoy being left on there own. Great with the kids but they are a bread that needs a lot of attention.

If you do go for one, try & keep them off staircases for the first 6 months,

The. They escaped from a farm started living wild. Scared local horses. Seamed odd riding down a track and have one if those long necks rise up from behind a hedge.

Couldn’t agree more about seeing your planning officer. Build up good repo r with then as “officer recomm
    ended” can do little harm.
With regards to conservatories, as of 2011 some now need building regs approval which will open up a whole new can of worms for a “substantially glazed extension”

Went to a wedding at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, ‘which we really enjoyed. Not spectacular but very relaxing plus the benefit of a walk in the woods afterwards.

If you are thinking of running thro floor zones, beware of duct sizing & drilling/notching of floor joists.
New build is relatively easy if you use metal web joists. Retro into existing sw joists is more challenging with narrower depth joists.
You can also get systems that us the exhaust air from your ventilation to run thro a heat pump which is then used to heat the house. Look at the Nibe fighter as an example.

As been said before, all down to the quality of the site manager. A good SM can control site quality no matter what the companies policies or procedures are.
Go visit the site during the week. How tidy & organised is it, are materials being used in good condition.
Whats the form of construction, masonry, timber or steel frame. If it’s frame construction is it being protected during erection.
You can always ask to see the Building Control site records which the SM will have. They may say no if they have something to hide.

Pet plan. Never had problems when we’ve had to make a claim, which is what it’s all about. Not the cheapest but they haven’t let us down in 20 years now.
We had one of ours with Kennel club for a while but way over priced.

Been 3 times now & found it to be as expensive as you want it to be.
Kids spend long time in the pool complex (which is included in price) they feel safer riding there bikes in car free environment.
Some of the activities are pretty costly but others are not, pre book em as well.
Eating out is not cheap or particularly of high quality we tend to eat in & save our hard earned for some of the activities.
Not been for a week, could be too long as the kids get burned out after 3 days.

    Many thanks for the input.
Going to go for the 13″ 128G.
Surprised to hear that they get hot. My current 17″ MBP get very hot when on charge but @ 4 1/2 year it’s time for a change.
Had G3 & G4 powerbooks previously & used the refurbs before. The current beast was a refurb, to be which was replaced within 3 days of purchase due to screen failure. I will use refurb again

The pheasant pens were not near the bridle path so missed “it”, his henchmen had a go at me when I was on the actual RoW but had to discuss finer points when loaded shotguns are in evidence. Even the local vicar was harassed. Not good times but now thankfully resolved, for now at least.

I’ve got a nice damp patch at the bottom of our field where I could easily get 500-600 whips in. I feel some prep work starting next week.

Many thanks for all the info & happy new year to you.

whats the drying time for sally then?. we usually allow for year out & year in for our “hedge” trimmings which is mostly hawthorn, blackthorn & hazel. we trim bout 11/2 tonne per year of useable timber.

Is this another “wood” that the FC used to own the freehold but sold & retained the leasehold on?

This happend over our way & as a result the new “free holder” who happen to be a shooting syndicate, who have strictly limited any access to just rights of way.

There gamekeepers have reinforced this policy quite strongly even having a go at the vicar who was walking his 12 year blind cocker off the lead on a public foot path.

As far as riding goes, just down to one bridle path now, dodging the occasional shot on route.

The FC still retained the leasehold (the timber rights). The locals be it on foot horse or bike have lost out.

I’ve had a G3 & G4 powerbook & now a Macbook Pro 17″ & the only problems that i have ever had have been battery recalls on the G4 & Macbook Pro.

There used on average 6 hours a day, dead reliable.Used to use Office but now use Pages/Numbers/keynote which are easier to use & a dam site cheaper.

    You won’t regret it.

We have a few Rhea running wild (well actually thy are livid) round here. Perhaps I need to change to a bigger bird with much bigger eggs.

I’m surprised that they take Geese. I wouldn’t go near em.

I must admit to liking the Rhea though. That would give foxy a bit of a shock.

We switched back to Apple 4/5 years ago after a break. We now have 3 laptops of various models in daily use including the old G4 powerbook that still works a treat.

I need to run windows for some of my work stuff which is a pain. One thing you do notice is that when I switch to windows the battery life drops like a stone. In XP 3 hours ops, in OSX 4.5 hours easily.

I don’t use the office for mac now as pages/number/keynote do everything that I need & are simplier to use.
I know that there are numerous MAC/PC threads on here but for me it’s MAC’s just for the ease of use.

Some of my general fitness training includes using a tag-a-long. Now lad’s started school this includes school run pickup. 5 miles of hills with wt of tag -along plus lad on return run is for me good training. (he loves it too, gives im some cred in school)

First thoughts were either of the two Alfa, Guila GTJ or Alfasud ti for pure fun even though being a flat 4 didn’t like deep puddles.

But would have to say the car a miss most was my Lancia Fulvia Rallye Coupe. Fab motor corner on rails great seats & just fun, fun, fun. Italian Red black bonnet & boot with cromodora wheels. Had to sell it when I had to move & lost my garage. All I have left is the tool kit & manual.
    I need a beer

I know people who were ex commonwealth who got citizenship, no problems. Yet as Nepal not on commonwealth it’s sod off.
I see that they lost a couple out in Afgan yesterday. Adds too pressure.

I can get my Scandal 29er (front wheel off) & the lads 24″ bike in the boot .
Recently got new rack so now go on the roof.

It’s an E46 320D (can’t stand the interior in the new ones, prob my age) auto does 43mpg ave 45mpg motorways, dead reliable & a cracking drive.

If you don’t mind the fuel economy, Sub Legacy which I have had in the past. Good boot size & 4 wheel drive to boot.

I run a 17″Macbook Pro with VM fusion & XP which I need for work as the government issued software that I have to use is based on Access & Oracle with a touch of SQL thrown in.(hope that one day Filemaker Pro can make the need for these not required)

Boot up on the Mac approx 3x quicker than in XP. Also, running OSX I get 4.5hrs battery life in XP 3 if I am lucky.
I don’ bother with Office for MAC as I use the Numbers/pages/keynote. All much less complicated to use which for me equates to easier. Even reads DOCX XLSX files which previous versions of Office can’t in my experience. The options to use pop downs in Numbers is great for me. Mot an easy option in Excel.

We also have older powerbooks G4 still going strong
For us as a whole family (including Granny) all using MACS is just easier & it all just works without any hassle.
