i heard talk last year that they try to do a more CXish route one year, then alternate with a more MTBish one the next. And that last year was the former (lots of black stuff) so maybe more singletrack this time?

The issue is people not asking, just assuming that it is ok
to just take as they will.

I never had this problem with 35mm!
If oneone liked one of my photos they had to ask to borrow
the slide or negative to make a copy.

Why would you get a phone call demanding that you marshall a TT from British Cycling?
TT are regulated by CTT (Cycling Time Trail)

There is a facebook approach but I would like the perpetrator to do the right thing and remove them by their own accord.
