I've entered but I don't remember it being £30, seems expensive this year.

I'm using Snapfish as they were recommended by the Gadget Show.

I can send you an invite (I'll get some free prints) and you get some free prints for joining.

Have you considered someone like Jessops – you may be able to negotiate a deal for so many prints?

Americas world dominance is coming to an end just like that of the British and other European powers. It will be a gradual decline but it will happen

If the score is based on the number of staff going through Cytech certification does it also allow for staff retention? Could a shop make the top 50 because of it had a high turn over rate?

I have a Humax and will be returning it as soon as I get around to it. The interface is truly terrible and it has frozen to many times to count.

This is my second PRV and the Tesco own brand (no longer available) one only lasted 2 years but had a much better UI.

Find your nearest Odd Bins go in and ask the manager to pick out a case of red wine between at £6-9 per bottle, you will get a 20% case discount and some fantastic wine.

I've been doing this for once a month for 6 months now and never looked back. A £6 bottle of wine from Odd Bins seems to taste better than a £6 bottle of Asda wine.

I remember reading about using a Navigo Sat Nav, hacking the firmware so that you could access Windows Mobile and then installing Memory Map. I think that there was some stuff on the old forum.

There is some discussion here, here and here

I think that most people are using smart phones now, a few years ago there were some posts about people buying cheep SatNavs from ebuyer (that run Windows Mobile) and installing MemoryMaps.

At this price I don't think you will go far wrong with any camera, but I think that with a budget like that you might want to look at something like the Canon G9 or G10

If you want something smaller take a look at the Olympus µ TOUGH-8000

Mr Watt added that a beer such as Tactical Nuclear Penguin should be drunk in "spirit sized measures"

If this is the case why does it have a crown cap and not a screw top?

More importantly hoe does the yeast survive at that concentration of alcohol?

For the notepad guys – I assume you would recommend starting with the basics from scratch with html and then progress from there?

There a just rattling you cage:

coffeeking is correct, do you what a dynamic or static site?

If you have a static site you will be limited to relatively simple content, if you want a dynamic site you can do practically anything. STW and the BBC are dynamic site but my previous link is static.

Have a look here for some more info

chvck was it the HeadFirst book of the GOF one you found boring? HeadFirst is ok if you like ducks.

I found it to be a very easy book to get into. I have found most software development books to be a hard read/badly written.

I don't think that you have to shave your head to read them but don't let me stop you :-)

I had to read it 3 times before I believed it meant actual physical magnets

They use them in all their books, I think that its quite a good way to teaching code structure but I didn't realise that they actually made them. I mainly code client side in Java and while I would recommend Clean Code and Effective Java to an experienced developer I'd start a beginner in any language with HeadFirst.

I'd start with this one:

I have a few of books in this series and think they are very good and I like O'Reilly in general. You can download a sample chapter from the website

If you are new to programming I'd also recommend their books on programming, analysis and OOAD

If I could get everyone in our development team to read their book on design patterns I'd be very happy

Ewan, its to deliver training to clients rather than our staff so the intended audience would be in the hundreds.

I would be able to provide the trainers so I'm looking at a sliding scale between buying some software and bringing it all in house up to a fully managed system I can simply update courses to.

Don't really like to put a price on here but I can via email.

Thanks

Depending on age either screw off the side covers or remove them by sliding a knife blade between the code and the axle body.

I have a 2006 hub and the covers are press fit, new version may be a screw fit

But don't they need to modernize because they are making a loss ?

I don't think the Royal Mail should need to be profit making, they don't have any share holders to satisfy. Their aim should be to make an operating profit sufficient to fund investment and fund the pension fund.

NikNak7890: I guess you are in the same position as car workers were in a few years ago, automation has the potential to make a lot of people redundant. Are the union/employees trying to prevent job losses or protesting at the way it is being handled?

If drying it out doesn't work Google "Replacement Keyboard" and the model of the laptop depending on the brand you may find a cheep OEM replacement. How hard it is to replace the keyboard will depend on the design on the laptop but its often quite straight forward

Selected cells in Access do not have a specific reference

I thought the same thing but then I noticed that you can copy and paste irregular ranges. It might not be possible via VBA as I couldn't find the call in the API.

GrahamA
Free Member

I don't think that SQL is the way forward in this case; you will need to use VBA or a Macro. Unfortunately I don't know VBA for Access so I can't give you a definitive answer.

Create a Message Box containing a input field to contain the new value or multiplier and two radio buttons (update and multiply). Show the message and store the new value/multiplier

Find the VBA command to get the selected cells, in Excel this is Application.Range.

Iterate through the selected cells and set each of the cells to either then new value or the current value * the multiplier.

I can't find an example of how to get the selected cells in Access but I hope that this helps

I have a Worcester-Bosch combi boiler and its had one problem in the 6 years I have lived in the house (I think that the boiler is about 10 years old). In that case it cost about £100 to repair.

When I had some building work done a few years ago one of the builders told me that they were very good but expensive to fix when they went wrong.

GrahamA

it needs to be built very slowly

The problem with building a brand slowly it that you will not get the economies of scale that On-One and smiler brands get.

I guess that the key questions are how are you going to build a better bike than the Inbred and sell it for less than £135 without being accused of dumping (Australian but I believe that smiler rules apply in the UK)

If you are looking for a second hand bike I'm thinking of selling a 2008 Brodie Zealot frame and/or fork. There is a review here and here . It's a Canadian 6" travel bike so I'm sure that it would be ideal for Whistler, but it is just to much bike for me and I can't use it anywhere near its limit.

You could start by looking at Chas Roberts and Dave Yates

There is also Robin Mather, I think that Curtis do a custom option and Eighteen Bikes have started doing frames.
