I think I ordered them aground the the time of the Marin RoughRide. Roger said that he had only just started taking pre-orders when I spoke to him.

When I ordered them I got the impression that he was as frustrated as you are that he can't get stock.

I have just revived my Hope 2/Crest wheels that I pre-ordered from Roger. I realise that doesn't help but I think that Hope are struggling to full fill demand while they are moving.

You may find that other companies will take your order but not have the stock available, if you are desperate JRA are showing Crest as available but you are going to pay a lot more than buying them from Roger.

14GB is a lot of porn, could be bit torrents of games and films. He is much more likely for be getting his porn via tube sites that don't require a download.

the hustler; have you considered doing a test and fit service? you could do the eye test at you normal rate, supply the customer with their PD and then if they ordered on-line charge the remainder as a fitting fee?

I think that independent opticians will go the same way as butchers, bakers and other shops that the supermarkets could roll up. I guess that a reasonable chunk of your £60 is for high street premiss?

Snake Oil but if it makes her feel better its no worse than homoeopathy. On a more serous not if you are adding salt then you may need to be careful of residual sodium levels

I know this sound daft but is he sure that there isn't one there already? The one on my forks was right up by the crown and it took me while to notice it was there.

I also had the same problem with Zyro (via Evans) keep pushing and don't give any ground. Washed to0 hot is there stock response, eventually they offered to replace them as a 'good will' gesture.

Make a fuss, get a replacement and then stick to the good guys like Endura and Extra UK

PS Stop buying muck off as well until they start setting concentrate as its 5 time the price of Fenwiks

Rutland Cycling are selling Trail Gators for £40 (Cheapest I could find) I've only used it once so far.

I wonder what the true factory gate prices are

I think you would have to allow for economies of scale as well. Specialized and Trek will be spreading their R+D, Marketing, Tooling and Sponsorship across a lot more bikes than the boutique brands.

I'd recommend Dolgam between the villages of Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig. Could be where scruzer is suggesting as well.

You can pickup the Marin from just outside the Campsite, ride to Penmachno and there are may natural trails nearby, If you can find a BikeFax guide there are several routes around there as well.

I bought glasses on-line but only because the company is local to me and I can drop in for fitting. If you are getting something with a fixed bridge you may be ok

    Adjustable

the next step is to check the bushings for any play. If we find any we will try to refit/resize the bushings to maximize the performance of the chassis but if this fails we will contact you to get authorisation to fit new bushings

When you send the shock off to them put a not in explaings what you think is wrong, maby with a photo, and I'm sure they will be able to help.

Are you sure that the bushings are correctly set? If you are remove the shock and try rolling it along a flat surface while checking the distance between the shaft and table with a ruler or calliper.

When I ordered some Superstar pad they came with a catalogue that included floating rotors, I can't find them on the website but I might be worth dropping them an email.

I've done a course with CycleActive and would recommend them. I'm doing Ed's stop crashing course Saturday week.

I don't know if that helps but I'm all in favour of coaching

You could try Southend Wheelers who do some off road road rides

Think that some rides are organised around Chelmer Cycles

Given that the highest point in Essex is 147m above sea level you may be a bit disappointed

Oh and don't expect the checkout staff @ Aldi to be over chatty as they are monitored on the speed they scan stuff.

I'd be very surprised if this wasn't the case at every supermarket

Are we talking about disposable BBQs that burn the grass or any BBQ? I'm assuming its any type of BBQ

"Terrorism is, in the most general sense, the systematic use of terror"

Bombs, guns and bacteria aren't really necessary; a bomb threat a day phoned in to London Underground or City Airport will disrupt peoples daily lives far more effectively than actually blowing something up.

11/9 galvanised US opinion allowing an erosion of everyone's civil liberties, the invasion of two countries and the torture countless people.

A constant wearing down of the populous through loss of freedom, income and could be far more effective. The only challenge to the would e terrorist (group) is establishing credibility while evading capture Theodore Kaczynski (Unabomber) was active from 1978-95 and was only captured after his brother recognized Ted's style of writing and beliefs from the manifesto, and tipped off the FBI

Suitcase sized nukes are "available" but I don't think you should loose sleep other them, I'd actually worry more about a Radiological (dirty) bomb as I think you may be able to make on from isotopes used in Xray machines (I can't find a source from this so I could easy be mistaken)

What does the bike weigh now? If you are felling particularity brave strip the frame and weigh it and then do the same with the wheels and forks. As everyone has said, wheels (tyres?) frame and fork make the most difference. I notice that this bike is from Giants 'Sport' range so you are going to struggle to turn it into a XC Racer.

How about switching to Hope Hoops 355 and Tora Forks

    That's about £500

This might be the most bizarre requires I've seen on this site, shouldn't it be in the classifieds as a wanted add?

If it's a 17.5" you are saving 200 for a year old bike that is out of warranty as JEJames have them for £999 otherwise check if the bike is registered with Trek and discuss the warranty with the seller

I think that andyl46 is correct
we will go to places where sufficient demand exists to make laying the mains economically viable

If you don't have mains gas at the moment (and none of your neighbours do) the chances are that attaching you to the national grid will not be economical viable.

If everyone else has mains gas then it could be viable, if not have a look on a map for the nearest town village with mains gas then measure the distancing to your house/village I guess that the cost of laying a gas main is £50-100 per meter

You don't say what bike/frame you have but unless you have 80mm race hardtail and want to ride downhill or a DH Bike and want to race I don't think that your bike will be holding you back.

Why not get book yourself onto a one day skills course or here and take it from there.

Vango Diablo by any chance? We switched to a Blacks Serpens as the Diablo is a bit overkill for anything less that a week away. I'd probably get one of these if I was looking for a new summer weekend tent but it might be a bit small to get a table in

why do they always put the forks on backwards?

I think they have a 50% chance of getting the first one right and then copy that one for the rest.

Depending on how high tech' you want to get you could always get a Distress Radiobeacon like this it's quite expensive but does the job lots of people are describing on this thread.

I ride alone and tend to rely on telling someone where I'm going and checking in when I get back.
