With the exception of Hamilton Square I don’t think that Birkenhead Town centre has any redeeming features whatsoever.

Oh and the Stork Hotel is on CAMRAs list of Heritage Pubs

If you decide that you want a Diablo 600 let me know as I want to sell mine, I guess you would have to be local though as I can’t imagine that it would be economical to ship anywhere as its very heavy.

I’ve seen SugarCRM mentioned before but I have no personal experience. I think that you can either go with the open source version of a paid for version.

I remember watching it the first time and thinking what should have been a very interesting program was deeply uninteresting, I guess James Martin is a better cook than TV presenter.

At that price you need to keep your eye out for end of line discounts.

The heavy plough as it allowed subsistence farmers to produce a surplus which could in turn be used to support a new layer of society that didn’t need to spend all its time hunting/farming who could then go on to spend time doing maths and astrophysics.

Plus you can use it to make more beer.

The writing as it allows knowledge to be stored and disseminated.

So learning to program is easy, learning to be a programmer is hard / a matter of aptitude; not everyone is cut out to be one.

Learning to program is easy but being a good programmer and learning to program well is very hard.

Some people have what it takes and others don’t, but I think that this is the same in every profession.

Like Drac I can’t see the point of an application to tell me when something needs replacing but I might, in theory, be interested in something that let me log how many miles (or how long) something has been used before it needs replacing.

What language are you planning on learning? Rather than starting from scratch have you considered finding a suitable open source project and either volunteering to join the development team or extend the existing application with you required features.

For example you can develop your own plug-in for SportTracks although I’m not sure if you would be able to decompose a bike into a hierarchy of components.

I’m using the KCNC Ceramic and they are fine after 8 months but I’d expect that from any set of Jockey wheels really.

Do the Tacx come in a blue box?

What year X0 have you got? I can always find out what which set I bought that didn’t fix, if you gave a mech’ later than 2006 they may fit

I’m using KCNC after the first replacement set from another supplier didn’t fit despite listing ’06 XO on the packaging.

    wow, about 1000 files

Good value, No? :P You can play with a demo here

FWIW, I don’t think whether it’s on the web or a PC makes much odds…

I’ve no experience of developing a web application but I guess that a web site that allowed a lot in interaction needs very good security whereas a report only system wouldn’t even need you to log in.

Collecting the loggers at the end of a race an uploading on a laptop would help secure the results as well but makes no difference in terms of actual analysis.

Have a look at BETD it looks like a Specialized Number 12 might be just what you are looking for.

Does the whole thing need to be done via the web? It might be simpler to have the analysis done on a laptop, downloading the loggers at the finish, and then just upload the results to a database so that contestants can view the results later.

Why not put up a post here and see if you get any feedback.

You cold also take a look on Source Fourge for GPS applications that could be adapted for you needs, a quick search found this which already does some of the things you are after.

I’m not rally a fan of either Landlord or Deuchars, I’d recommend HPA and Liverpool Pale Ale depending on where you as neither seem to be available that far from the the respective breweries.

HPA is one of the nicest beers I have tried and good reason to do the Rough Ride each year.

Only issue woudl be if you had a long term, undetected, leak after the meter coudl cost you a lot…

Get on fitted inside your house rather than in the street. That way if you have a supply pipe leak it will be before the meter and you won’t end up paying.

Either tie a piece of string/fishing line to the saddle rail and cut so that it just touches the top of the seat clamp when your saddel is at the correct height or use one of these:

you dont here about children been savaged by cats on council estates do you….

I have a sneaky suspicion that cats are like dolphins and only attack people in deep water/secluded areas where they are more likely to get away with it.

Overall I’m pleased with mine, I particularly like all the pockets you can get to without tacking the pack off.

I’d say the main downside is that they don’t come with a bladder (despite costing as much or more as packs that do) and the shape of the reservoir doesn’t seem to match any of the bladder I’ve tried.

I think that you are wrong to assume that jobs such as Plumbing (that require a physical presence) can’t be outsourced. How many comments/conversations have you seen about Polish Plumbers/Builders over the last few years and the NHS is quite happy to actively recruit foreign nurses (to the determent of care in their homeland in some cases).

I have an Aspire One D260, there is a review on The Register of the best Netbooks. Chrome Netbooks should start to hit the market soon.

If its just for browsing and light use you may be better off with a tablet its work noting that table have a resolution of 102*768 whereas Netbooks are limited to 102*600 and this can really make a difference during prolonged use.

rOcKeTdOg: I wish I knew more about it. My grandfather told me that he won quite a few races but that as many of the prizes were (oil) lamps they were thrown away when the house where electrified. The one one I know we still have is an Ice Bucket but it seems to have gone missing.

One day I’ll get in touch with the Cycle Trace and see if I can find out more.

I tried a pair of these for a 2006 XO and just could not get them to fit (The supplied pack did say that they fitted XO, so I don’t think that I ordered the wrong ones).

I’d suggest some from KCNC they may be a (lot) more expensive but they actually fitted! They also sponsor Kate Potter and the Rough Ride.

Why not put a couple of these on to monitor the movement?

You could something as simple as expanding foam filler, I guess your main aim has to be to stop water getting as this will speed up the rate of damage.

You didn't say if the cracks where cosmetic or structural, if they are structural I'd suggest getting a Structural Engineer to look at it.

Not to bad this week, started with the users reporting performance problems with the latest software version but that gave me the evidence I need to buy some new profiling software and things are looking up.

You could try a flee collar with a bell on it.

I don't really think that collars on cats are a good idea as they may get caught up on something.

    Flea drops are an option.

Thanks for the advice every one – lots of useful information.

Get an aisle seat on the plane. I had a window seat and watched a baggage handler drop the bike bag about 10 feet from the hold directly onto the tarmac

Good Advice – Last trip to with Ryan Air; as I got onto the plane I noticed a bag hanging from a radio antenna under the fuselage. After we were all seated the pilot announced that we were going to be delayed while they fitted a new aerial!
