I think you may be right.

If you want to be competitive have a look what the top placed riders are using and get something similar. If on the other hand you want to enjoy yourself and think that you can ride the Enduro up hill then you may have the ideal bike.

The event stages are on the website why not try one on the Enduro and see how it feels.

There is a few people on here in that line of work who may be able to offer some real advice but in the meantime are you planning on offering accommodation and or guiding.

If you are planning on guiding you will need the relevant qualifications.

If you are just doing accommodation I’d imagine it would be just like running a B&B someone asked a smiler question not to long ago, try the search.

Not unless you have a nuke that can remove the military leadership and leave the populous alone.

The people of North Korea are similar the East Timorese, I wish there was more we could do

Before recommending something – What are you trying to do with your database?

Is is possible that there is already a free/low cost/open source project that may already do what you want without the need for you to set up a database.

Feel free to get in touch direct if you need some advice.

Does that come with a battery and charger or do you have to get them separately?

Field and Trek are/were a legitimate company. They have fallen on hard times since I worked for them (not suggesting that the two are related) and were bought up on the cheep by Sports Direct.

Could be genuine or could be a error on the website.

iDaft or any of the drawing programs work. Anything that makes a noise, I try and avoid programs like lightsaber as I worry about her losing grip

How about plug adding extra plug sockets, say a minimum of four unused for charging phone/camera/PDA/laptop etc.

    Simplicity

Although I am your guest I in no way share in interest in art, nick-nacks, wicker furniture, knitting, flock wall paper, patterned carpets, china cats and above all dolls of any sort.

I do need a on-suite shower/bath room that I can swing a cat in (I’ll supply my own cat) preferably not pink or avocado.

A Radio that works, and by work I mean that it receives the Radio 4 without interference. You would be surprised at how complex this seems to be.

    A pint glass.

If you choose to supply a TV a remote control make sure that the batteries are charged.

I got a La Hacienda Barbecue a couple of years ago. The design allows storage inside the BBQ and you can use it as a smoker as well.

I have had problems with a Merlin built rear wheel that has needed adjustment a couple of times after loosing tension but that does seem to be the exception.

If I was replacing my wheels I’d probably get them from wheelpro £285 for Pro2 on ZTR355 or ZTR Flow. Richard has as excellent reputation as a wheel builder is regularly recommended on here (although I haven’t tried them and am only passing on other peoples recommendations).

Don’t know about the ride but the one I saw a couple of times yesterday on the Dyfi creaked like a bed on wedding night. Do they all sound like that?

Depending on the version you may be able to add Garmins own TOPO maps but these are not the same as OS maps.

For OS Maps on a Garmin you will need a Oregon and GB Discoverer

    Or a SatMap

It is possible to buy a cheep car SatNav hack the OS so that you can access the Win CE.NET 5.0 and then install Memory Maps PDA solution you may be able to find out some more here

For that time/distance I’d have thought you would want something with low noise and good fuel efficiency, maybe a Michelin Energy?

Offset on a i900 is 27.5mm and the Thomson is 20mm (moderate accuracy bike is currently upside down in a room where the light is not working) I think that the Thomson looks more due to the bend in the shaft (as opposed to an offset at the clamp)

Visual inspection prior to fitting suggested that the offset was near identical and a field trail confirmed that it was possible to replicate the same riding position. This is based on personal option rather then measurement as I neglected to take measurements prior to fitting

When you ask what is the ‘one bike’ you will get one answer per person for me the one bike would have less travel that you are looking for as where I ride I don’t need that much travel.

If you are looking for a bike with 6” travel at both ends I’d take a look at the Brodie Zealot. I have a 2008 version and It’s an absolute hoot to ride far exceeding my talent and ability. It would tick all your boxes as it come in under 34lb and the adjustable fork combined with a 4 bar linkage will mean that it pedals uphill OK.

Have you considered one of the newer generation of bikes with asymmetric travel?

Someone has already suggested the Hemlock and by swapping rocker places and forks you could have a very versatile bike. You could also take a look at the Orange Blood which I recall was designed by the guys at Orange to be a do it all bike.

I guess that as the first section is shaired with the green and blue trails it can’t be to rough.

Thanks – That’s what I was thinking of. I saw the break hoses £275.00!

racing_ralph Yes; It would mean that you could remove the seat post for cleaning and transport.

Looks like it’s non-starter as both those couplings look like they need cable stops and exposed cables to work.

An S&S coupling allows a bike frame to be split in half for transport. The fittings I’m thinking of allowed the gear (and brake) cables to be split and reattached.

I’m worried that I may have imaganied them now.
