A full 8 hours on this one.Parked at Seatoller, up Honnister Pass,Warnscale Bottom,Gatesgarth, High Crag, Scarth Gap,Black Sail Pass, Wasdale Head, Sty Head, Stockley Bridge, Seathwaite and back into Seatoller
Not exactly what your looking at, but Simon at Locotuning converted my 2010 36 float r to Vanillas the week before last. That came in at about £90 I think for parts, fitting.
And well worth it it was.
HTH.
The bottom half from Hollins Cross was a real mudfest yesterday , great fun. Also looked to be a load of Landys going up Chapel Gate, albeit with one stuck at an angle widthways across the track.
The main benefit I found was that it only cost me £20 to replace front and rear with enough left over to make another front, as opposed to £26 for a standard Avid hose.
I got mine off Ebay, and they came with no instructions! Wasn’t a big job to figure out what went where though.
And far easier to put together than Goodridge.Been using mine since May this year no problems at all. Juicy 7’s by the way.HTH.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll give them a ring tomorrow.Your sentiments towards your tools are well appreciated, coming from someone that served his apprenticeship with Rolls Royce/Bentley..
GD Multi here, as Twelveski says, being able to get it back up to normal height quickly, is as much use as dropping it quickly in the first place.
They do make your riding more flowing, no “faffing” to stop and drop!
Remote wins every time.
firestarter..
That is a reducer I had to have made, as the person I bought the frame off threw the proper insert away when he took the headset out prior to selling the frame..Many thanks to Kev at BETD for that.
Jackal..Thanks for that, it is a great bike. The rides I have done on it so far, I couldn't have got down any quicker on my 5. The only time it felt a bit out of its depth was on the 5 Passes in a day we did in the Lakes, that has been the only time I have felt "underbiked". Still damn good for something with "only" 120 / 100 mm of travel though.
A perfect bike for Peak Disrict type stuff, although you do have to pick your line more when going down Cavedale
