I have the orange Porsche. I built it up and kept it that way for a while then dismantled it. My son then did the same and I now have it back and will probably build it up again over the winter. Most of the fun is putting it together.

I’m pleased someone else asked what an FTP test was before me. At least it has nothing to do with File Transfers.

Twice I’ve messed up my knee ligaments getting off my bike on rough terrain.

No problem at all. I have both standard Maxxis 2.6 and their “Trail wide” 2.6 on 35mm rims.

I also have 2.6 Nobby Nics on Hunt 30mm rims with no problem too.

A few people have mentioned slowing down. I made a reasonable comparison on a trip down the A1 from Durham to Leeds and back. Going I set the cruise control to 60 mph and returned 60 mpg. Coming home I set it to 70 mph and got 50 mpg. I was surprised at the difference.

I hope you update after your ride. I’m particularly interested in the surface between Fort Augustus and Inverness on the north side of the Loch.

I had mine at 9:30 yesterday. Then went for a 4 hour bike ride at noon after doing a bit of gardening. I feel fine.

No. I live 45-50 minute drive from Hamsterley. I don’t class that as local from an exercise point of view. I also think that injuries are more likely at a trail centre than on a local cycle path and part of the “stay safe” thing is to avoid hospital visits.

NickC – yes, a GP Spyder. I think there were only ever thirtysomething Porsche RSK 718s built and any survivors will sell for 7 figures.

Phone discussion first then face to face. Quite quick too.

    Air cooled for me:
    VW Beetle
    VW Karmann Ghia coupe
    VM Karmann Ghia Cabrio
    even a Citroen 2CV
but currently a GP Spyder. Although it’s actually a kit car the chassis is over 50 years old and the body about 35. I think that should count.

I’m in the north east and still waiting for the Government to publish the rules some 5 hours or so after their announcement. I have plans for a weekend outside of the region already. Think I can go, hope so.

My outbound flight scheduled July 27th was cancelled but not the return on August 1st. I applied for a refund and am expecting the whole amount to be refunded in lines with EU (which UK is still classed as part of for this) guidance. Apparently I should be refunded by August 5th.
It’s just disconcerting that my return flight is still waiting for me to check in and that I’ve recently been told the departure time has changed.

The guy who delivers to my area always seems very efficient. The woman who delivers to my elderly mothers area always calls in when she’s nearby to make sure she is ok and sometimes runs errands for her.
Maybe it just depends on the individual rather than the company?

This is no help whatsoever but in Newcastle there was a printer called “Tell It Tee Shirts”. Not the most appropriate acronym any more.

One of the big advantages of current technology is that we can work from almost anywhere.
One of the big disadvantages is that we can work any time!
As far as team building/bonding goes that’s never really been an issue for me. I work for a global company and I’ve never met a manager of mine or a team mate in probably more than 5 years now. I’ll probably work at home more in the future.

The Government only decided to move it to the Friday sometime last year. Friday is for VE day There was quite a bit of press at the time because lots of companies had printed calendars and other events had already been planned for the original dates (not that that matters now).

Not that it helps any but I checked this thread because I had no idea what TFL, EPCPLC or LEZ were. Probably because I live up north so I certainly wouldn’t expect someone in Norway to know.

I’ve not had airfix in years but pre-ordered the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander in April 2019 ahead of the 50th anniversary. Amazingly it’s still not available so eventually cancelled the order. No Airfix for me.

Another vote for Metal Machine Music. I knew it would be bad but felt I had to get it as I have all his other studio albums.

I’m old and I like her music. I always think it’s great how she goes to great lengths to cover herself up.

I went to Le Mans many years ago (Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx won) for the Saturday/Sunday. It never occurred to me to take a tent. I just stayed out all night then slept later.

shit for them to do would be appreciated 🙂

Dippy the Diplodocus is on display at the Great North Museum. Tickets are free but should book in advance. Discovery museum is free. Centre for Life has stuff on too. All of those are in the city centre which is quite compact.

Not a recommendation here but .. I’m thinking of returning my Emma mattress. It’s too firm for me.

I was a bit nervous watching as my son works at HMP Durham as a Prison Officer. He says some things were exaggerated. There seemed to be more senior staff about than there actually is. They don’t have buckets, rats or cockroaches now.

Full sus trail bike for me without any changes to tyres etc. As for average speed, I don’t manage much more than 20kph on a road bike so I guess it will take me a long time.

My garage was recently broken in to and some items stolen although they failed in getting through the chain holding the bikes. The garage is not attached to my property and is in a separate block. It was classed as burglary and the police did make arrests and recover some items.
The youngest offender got a caution. Another 150 hours of community service, a fine and ordered to pay me compensation. The police are sometimes successful! :)

I just took off my remote to shorten the hose. The remote unscrewed from the hose then screwed back on again.

Nice to see a couple of Karmann Ghias cropping up. I’ve already had several but still get excited on the rare occasions I see one.

I’m 52, the “lad” I ride with is 59 so I have to keep going at least as long as him. I hardly saw him in the Alps a couple of weeks ago as he was so much quicker than me!
