Yep it’s fine. Half decent Tarmac to bits that are broken up, potholes etc but perfectly navigable on even a Cx bike.

Just about to send my Gore bike wear jacket to them for a new zip. They repaired the rand on my Berghaus yeti gaiters not that long ago and the workmanship was amazing so if they’re as good at zips which I have no reason to doubt it should be worth it.

I usually delete all rides at least once a week. I also switch on the Bluetooth on the iPhone first then the Garmin and it connects straight away.
Should I leave or forget to delete the rides it takes a lot longer to happen.

Have you deleted any of your previous rides off your Garmin?
If you haven’t it clogs up the system and takes ages to sync.

I usually start mine on top of my wheelie bin whilst I get the bike out of the shed. Pick it up and discard the ride.
It’s almost like letting it calibrate itself before I start it for proper.

Can’t say much more that what’s been said above. Yeah it can get warm sometimes but what helmet doesn’t.
Without a doubt he comfiest best fitting helmet I’ve ever owned and who cares if it runs slightly hotter than other helmets when you have such great protection on your head?
Fwiw I still use my old xen for night riding and it’s only then that you realise how good the A1 is.

This is in interesting thread for me. I’ve been looking at Wickwerks cyclocross chain rings from the USA which I think initially are reasonably priced but by the time postage is added to the Uk the price seems ridiculous.

They are wanting $72/ £45 postage.

Would these companies avoid import duty or could I still get stung when it gets here?

Is there anyway around import duty? Parcel marked as a gift?

What a cracking day yesterday. It was my first time and I got through it without any punctures or mechanicals.
Granted I probably minced my way down the hills to avoid puncturing.
Finished in 224th with a time of 4.23.19. We’ll chuffed with that.

Yep ordered one yesterday. Dropping from a 32 to a 30. Its pretty steep and rocky where we ride but I can manage most of the stuff here but some of it is a major effort. 30 should be more manageable.

I would like to add my experience to this thread so no one else has to suffer the same.

29th May I placed an order for a pair of shoes.

12th June When there was no sign of them I e-mailed to ask what was happening with the order.
I was informed that

i have been away and the order being processed now

This is where the status changed from processing to despatch.

24th June Still no sign so another e-mail asking for an update as I haven’t received my order.

Thanks for the e-mail let me check.

Sorry to keep you can’t see why it has been stuck in despatch as we have
plenty of stock, I think i will complete the order myself keep an eye on the
order status.

27th June Surprise surprise the order is still awaiting despatch so yet another e-mail.

Sorted now nothing to do with stock its one of top sellers the system
doesn’t like your order for some reason done it manually.

At this point the order status changed to dispatched. So I asked what method they used to post them so I would know roughly when to expect the order.

I though fine that will take quite a few days to arrive.

3rd July parcel eventually arrives with a special delivery sticker and postage date of 2nd July so yet again more lies!

My order took 35 days from order to delivery. The website clearly states that

our standard delivery you can expect to see your goods in 3-5 working days unless otherwise stated

At no point was anything otherwise stated.

I feel that I have been perfectly pleasant throughout and very patient and I wouldn’t normally do something like this but I feel that I have possibly been lucky this time. And before anyone comes in and says anything about sticking with my Lbs they don’t stock the shoes I was after.

It appears that my order is not the only one to have trouble.

I’m running a Baron 2.3 with Apex sidewall and it went up no bother at all using Continental Revo sealant. Not sure if the type of sealant was the trick or not. Thinking of pairing it up with a MkII 2.4 on the rear shortly once the skinny mud tire comes off.

Somafunk from what you say there if I was to stick a set of road tyres on it you reckon it would be good for all day long rides on the road?

Obviously I’ll be predominantly using it for cross purposes but the option for using it on the road still appeals.
