Fom Blubberhouses go across the A59,up the road untill a rh bend go straight ahead thro gate on Bridleway (Kex Ghyll)which runs parallel to A59.At top follow old road to start of bridleway up to round hill.
Can be a bit boggy and a bit of a push but worth it to come down round hill.Turn left when you hit track at bottom. This is ok for a while but becomes very boggy then ok to ridge line.
Choice 1 go straight ahead which leads to track just above Blubberhouses. Can be very boggy and indistinct.

Choice 2 go thro gate on right and follow down to a ghyll, boggy in places, then up a nice track to Lippersley pike and down towards gate at top of denton track.
On way down there is a small stone pillar and a track on left leading into the top of Timble Ings.
    All worth doing.

Following on from uphilla’s comments what’s the feeling about an oldfarts ride?

I live near Otley and would organise one in the area.

I’m coming up to 70 and have had a couple of painful off’s in the past couple of years.

Decided to stop trying to keep up with my son and his mates and slow down.
    Seems to be working.
Trouble is its difficult to find riding partners of a similar age and ability.

Cheers MB, will give it a go.
Should make a nice addition to the bits in Timble Ings.

Due to my lack of fitness, and age, I plan to ride in to the meet at the Swimming Pool from Embsay and leave you as you cut off to the Crag down the track to Halton Heights then down to Halton where I hope to meet you in the pub, if you have no objections.

Sadly samuri seems to be experiencing an extended mid life crisis I have to say I'm looking forward to being 60 in 3 years' time, and inclined to feel that most of the supposed burden of age are wished onto people by their own expectations of decline. Apart from my back being slighly less limber that when I was 20 I don't feel much different at all, and having lost the crushing shyness and depression I used to suffer then I'm much happier and don't envy youth

Coming up to 66 and I agree with Simon's post especially the shyness.

Staying in Minehead and want to ride from there but not including North Hill or the hill back of periton other than on way back.

Say 30miles not bothered about height as long as its not excessive.

Have a word with the lads at JD Cycles in Ilkley.

They should be able to answer most of your questions.

Basically though 1/2 of the moor is owned by Bradford MBC who's countryside managers have an open access policy.

However there are sensitive areas its best to avoid due to the large number of walkers.
