Silly me, it’s the caliper not fully returning…

Few years ago, I emailed easy jet about this and they said I couldn’t wear it on the plane because it wasn’t “fashion apparel”

Quick dry shorts, and some cheap waterproof trousers cut down to shorts when it’s really mucky does me fine

Depends where you’re based, look for precision engineers ( they normally turn bars ) or stockholders like aalco, metal supermarket, rightons, Richard Austins or a load of 1 off stockists. Most won’t cut under a certain diameter, ranging from 2″-3″, but it depends on circumstances.

What do you use to shorten braided hoses??

Interesting. The hope video says fresh fluid from lever. You squeeze it up from the caliper?

Bought a 2011 heckler, after riding my patriot 66. Hated it from the start.

Bought a 5 frame, swapped the parts and happy days immediately!!!

Been out to look at the old mech, it does look like a 9spd as described by coatesy…..

Nah, waiting for wiggle to tell me as its off their system being 2013, but having decided on a 10spd, I recall the thoughts, but I’m being told they nay have changed their ratios

    gordonb

Didn’t the last time. Have they changed them since 2013 when I got my last 10 SPD six mech?

As someone who has recently shelled out a stack of cash to fix the carnage of a rear mech firing into to wheel after clipping a rock, surely going 1/11 with those silly big cassettes means really long mechs and inviting trouble???

Bought flowers on behalf of the wee one, wife came in at 4 ish today having been away since Fri afternoon, announces that we’re off to see her mother and would I mind if she gave her flowers to her mum. I gave her a look of disgust and later this evening threw the bunch into the outside bin. She’s upstairs now in a huff as if I’m the bad one!!!

Yes, I went from riding a patriot 66 to a heckler… Absolutely hated it, felt skittery, and I started thinking twice about riding some of the stuff I’d ride previously with no probs.

Sold it, bought a 5, much happier, business as usual!

Depends on the grade of alum. Different grades with different tempers.

Forming to 90 degrees isn’t the issue, it’s the radius of the bend that counts. To put it in driving terms, you go round a 90 deg turn on a single track road at 20mph, but can hit a motorway 90deg at 70mph. Both are 90deg turns

Was hoping to get change from £300 but I don’t know if I’m kidding myself on. Sort of hoped there would be a geared cx version of the on one inbred.

Calipers, and sort of hoping they would work with the sora levers, but again, I might be kidding myself! !

    Is “jock” offensive?

    Well, is Sassanah offensive?

I think the answer lies in who uses it in which manner

Skinnybeard, where on the endomondo website do you get the live tracking?

Can you set it to see just the person you are tracking, don’t want the wife/parents getting worried cos “I’ve” gone to the wrong house for the night!!!

Depends on what shirt you are wearing. Non adjustable for a wing collar, doesn’t matter for a normal one.

    Hi Craig,

I joined/logged on to Lanarkshire MTB a few weeks ago, yet to manage out with the guys.

I’m in EK, so just up the road.

Generally free most weekends, except when the wife springs housework on me!

Never liked my heckler, went from a patriot 66 to the heckler, 18 months hating it, bought a 5 frame, back to loving mtb.

Arrived last Friday, only had a quick local blast to try out, but I’m off to Inners on Saturday for a proper test.

yup, easy to bleed, tools required are length of tubing, empty water bottle to catch and dispose of the brake fluid, 8mm spanner, and dot 5.1 oil.

Open reservoir cap, the missus at the lever end, you at the caliper end, you open bleed nipple 1/4 turn, shout open, she squeezes brake but doesn’t release lever, she shouts squeeze, you shut nipple, shout close, she releases lever then pours new brake oil into reservoir. Repeat til it all flows nicely.

NJA, quite right, sounds a plan!

Patriotpro, I did accept with all the grace I could muster, and only express my concerns in places and to people that he’ll never find out about it!

    here’s one for you all……

I’ve been asked to be best man for my father-in-law’s upcoming wedding…. I don’t even get on with him!

He’s got zero sense of humour, a right chip on the shoulder, and don’t get me started on what he’s like after a few whiskeys!

Oh did I mention that he walked out on my wife, her mum, and her 6 week old sister when my wife was 5, cos he’s girlfriend was preggers!

so I’m starting a thread, what tyres for peddling like **** to get away fro the whole situation?

I use BC Ride membership, partly because it’s needed for MBLA stuff, and partly cos they sent me a nice wee BC sticker when I renewed last time!

The Ride is for non racers

had a wonder in today as I was in town, and thought it was a bit pish to be honest. I quite like their xscape store, but not this one.

I did witness a 50 plus bloke and his missus, he was trying on the full replica Sky team kit, standing in the middle of the shop, whilst the shop assistant was telling him that it needed to be neat fitting and to feel stretching across his shoulders when he was in the sprinting in his drops position. He then crouched down to replicate this position.. in the middle of the shop!

Had to leave, before I wet myself!

Of course that begs the question… what tyres for my downtube?

Has to be a maxxis high roller…..

I’d say that heat escaping up from the house condenses onto the colder boards, causing dampness.
