Ads678, yes, they have the windows. I did wonder if I could do something like that as its the window part that takes up space. I’ll have a look for backing plates, good shout, thanks!

Thanks for the replies. 2010 Deore m6100 I think. I had a look at putting the shifter between the clamp and support but the shifter housing is too big. There’s no adjustment on the shifters so I’ll have a look at those adapters. Cheers.

I’ve fitted my lever to the bar but there’s a support part that rests against the grip which in turn pushes my gear shifter too far over when sitting next to the clamp. It makes the shifters pretty unworkable and cramped under the lever. Am I being daft or is there a way around this?

I bought these wheels and a QR adapter for the front. I can’t work out how the 15mm caps come out. Is there a tool for the 4 holes or can you get them out another way?

    Where do I start?
Broken Glovebox handle, £160 for a new one, Faulty boot switch locking boot shut, dodgy window electrics, central locking not working, speed limit system faulty, paint flaking off….and a list of advisories as long as your arm. We have looked after ours as well, I would steer clear if I were you.

I took delivery of a DHB long sleeved top in XXL this morning. Put it on, arms were really long, great start but the body was so short it barely reached the top of a pair of shorts. Im 6’5″ and have the same problem. Shame, nice top.

I was there this afternoon. It’s great low down but we pushed to the top from the picnic table on the red climb. Spooky wood was comical, quite deep drifts and parts that can’t be ridden, quite a few sideways slides. It was great fun as it’s so different from normal.

I got myself a Cube Reaction GTC Pro a few weeks back. It was a toss up between the Pro and the SL, went for the Carbon in the end and im really happy with it. I went from a Meta 5.5 to this for the same reason as yourself, wanted a lighter faster bike and it is just that. Its a really good climber and quick on the downs too. Its my first 29er so can’t really compare it to anything else but its fantastic value. You can get them pretty cheaply from Germany compared to Chain Reaction etc but I got mine from the Bike Chain in Edinburgh and cant recommend them enough. If you are near Edinburgh, give me a shout if you want a look. It’s a big ‘un at 23″ though!

Im the same as yourself, 6’5″ with 35″ inside leg and I have a Specialized Allez XXL which is 61cm and a top tube of 60cm. Fits well but as you say, it’s hard to find bikes of that size to try.

My commute is 12 miles into Edinburgh. Can sometimes do it in the morning (6am – noone about) but coming back home, no chance. The lights at Tollcross take forever and the thought of me being clipped in and tumbling over always makes me put my foot down! Might have to try it on Monday though.
