Any more feedback on these? Just had an email which has Reverb stealth 125mm for €150 (2017) tempted by that to be honest..

    Let’s hope they don’t buy up bike-discount, R2Bike etc
Even with the crap exchange rate you can still get bargains from the German sites and also parts that never seem to be in stock in the UK or available.

I’ve not really looked at WTB tyres before but that Ranger looks good – anyone got them on front ? Maybe in the high grip version?

I’ve got ranger 3.0 on my dude, great in the dry. Useless in the wet both front and rear, rear spins up when trying to climb out of the saddle.
If your just plodding then there OK, if you want to ride at warp speed then look for something with better grip and mud use.

Took my eldest out for a spin and took him to his favorite cough “restaurant” for dinner..

Armed with lights rode back through the local trails and woods for a little night ride, surprisingly the trails are pretty dry.

    + wheels?
    Hope pro 4/DT Swiss XM551..
Got mine from slam69 for less than £500 (hope pro 4 Fatsno)

Assuming the e*thirteen plus wheels on CRC is what you’ve been looking at, 23.4mm internal is to narrow for plus tyres..

Had a go on one of these today, can’t say it left me wanting after. Lovely looking bike though and heavier than I’d hoped.

Came across this Dawes academy last night, has the spinner air forks fitted and weighs 9.4kg
Normally £500 can be had for £380

I contacted the polish distributor for the spinner air forks, two models available 50/80mm travel €120/€125 delivered, I’m thinking £380 for the above is a good buy.

Fox Dirtpaw – are the ones on eBay genuine? As cheap as £5.98 posted, where other sites they range from £15-£25

Could you not get another hub like a shimano LX 9spd 135mm rear hub and re-lace the wheel…assuming spoke lengths are the same.

Edit ^ beat me to it

I wondered where you got your frame.. £450 not a bad price.. 177mm rear dropouts. Which dropper are you using? Crank Bros highline? If so how’s it been?

If the OP rides a 19.5″
There’s this Trek Farley frame with forks going for £500
    197mm rear dropouts.

Not sure which size dropouts the dune has, but something to consider if your planning to use your old wheels.

    You lot are so bitchy
    I’m taking up fishing
Anyone wanna buy my 4 bikes?

Don’t fish in my spot, if turn up at my local spot and your their. God the post that I’m going to have to put up :D

On the plus side at least the Europeans are more likely to get given directions at swinley if you Sell your 4 bikes.

Would be interested to know if anyone has tried 27.5 wheels with a 3.5 tyre on there’s????

Haven’t tried 3.5, but I have 3.0 on 27+rims. DT Swiss XM551 on Hope Fatsno.
Diameter wise the ranger 3.0 are roughly 725mm, the 4.0 Jumbo Jim’s measured 735mm.
As I’m running higher pressures in the 27+ there’s probably little difference in ride height when ridden.

Like I said mines been fine, guessing that the Bolt was torqued up to much causing it to snap under any load.

You need this assuming your crank is a 1°

1 deg cranks can be identified by the laser etching on the non-drive side end of the spindle

I would have been cheeky and asked them to swap the BB and crank for the GX crank they are fitting to what appears to be the 2018 models.

Incident 2 – “Of course I can help, you need to head that way then turn that way, then you’ll see the car park. Have you had a good ride, what do you think of Swinley? How does it compare to the trails back home?”

I think he was in to much of a hurry to give them directions back to Dover.. :D

    I’m just a bloke with a bike.
secondly the dads with the daughter were at the bottom of a trail that most riders would be doing around 15–18 mph
if id hit the daughter at that speed who knows what would happen. I literally had to yank my bars to miss them!!

And these trails are listed as RED
    or for experienced riders
if they want to take the kids riding stay on the kids trails

I think that confirms that they were lost and needed directions, possible even European..

If you use the park tool type, make sure to screw the outter part into the crank nice and tight. But don’t over tighten, if you don’t engage all the thread inside the crank you risk stripping the threads.

Between the lot of you, you were a great example in front of the “10” year old girl. I would have stopped and pointed out there in harms way.
What’s wrong with someone asking for directions? Not everyone has been riding there as much as you and as a result not familiar with directions.
Bet if it was a fit female you would have given her directions, or even let her ride along with you.

    What configuration are the LED’s?

I’ve got a BT70 which is according to MTBR 7x XP-G2 in parallel, with a 7A driver but the on/off/mode switch is annoying me so I was thinking of hacking about with it to change it to on/off (where on is the full 7A). But can’t find a driver that will do that?

    6.6amp close enough?

If you mean how do you get the cranks off, there’s a e13 crank removal tool.

I’ve got something similar to the park tool crank removal tool

    I can’t believe you’ve broken it already!
Hope you’ve emailed canyon with pics, can’t see why they wouldn’t send you another Bolt at the very least assuming you get the old one out.

I like the cranks, they have a removable spider, 2x comes off and you can replace with a direct Mount single ring. I’ve done it to mine.
As for the BB just make sure to adjust the pre-load and check once in a while.
Keep the bearings well greased, it doesn’t take much to wash all the grease out, not sealed very well.
    Mines been fine so far.

    Welcome to the dude club..
Has your dude got a stealth dropper fitted?
Interested to see how canyon have fitted the dropper, looks like they have run the cable next to the rear brake cable on the downtube and into the port on the seat tube. If so it’s a bit poor.

Curious how you can’t remove a remote properly as it’s just a cable that opens and closes the damper.
I removed my oneloc remote and used a short piece of cable to fix the damper in the open position.
Unless the owner has swapped the RL damper for a wrong damper..

I’ve just swapped the RL damper on mine for an RCT3 and also serviced the fork.
It is the simplest of forks in my experience, pull it apart and find out what’s wrong.
