What size tyre are people using what 719’s, as there a narrow rim is a nobby nick 2.2 the max without risk of losing air/burping?
Now that the trails are mucky fixing a puncture isn’t much fun.. muddy hands..horse crap!GoldiggerFree MemberThisisnotaspoon…
I’ve got the 15mm maxel on my sids…there definitely less flexy than the fox F100RL QR they replaced..
The only reason I was favouring the 140mm revelations was that I can get them for a good price, like you said I can bung a spacer in if I feel 140 mm is to much.
The trance advance 27.5 2014 comes with 140-160mm talas, wouldn’t have thought the 29er can’t handle 140mm? It seems to be a popular upgrade on a lot of trances..GoldiggerFree MemberDid you sort your shock out?
I’m also looking at swapping my RP2 for a monarch rt3, but not sure if the monarch is better..GoldiggerFree MemberDoes the kashima upgrade make any noticeable difference in performance? Or is it more bling than function?
GoldiggerFree MemberBeing 96kg I have 250psi in the shock.. it’s uses up that travel quiet easily..
Switching the pro pedal on doesn’t make a great difference.Speaking to the guy from tf tuned, it seems the damping needs a service..
GoldiggerFree MemberI just spoke to tf tuned..they advised me to get my RP2 serviced and pushed, rather than buying a new shock.
They say it would out perform a off the shelf ctd, anyone disagree with that?GoldiggerFree MemberAnyone use mbbearings? Assume the Enduro bearings are the ones to go for?
Noticed that the bearing numbers are on the seals..
638000VRS
6900VRS
6902VRS
6802FRSWhat does VRS stand for? Can’t find t on any bearing suppliers site..
GoldiggerFree MemberI checked out mtb bearings…I noticed they mention abec ratings.. I thought that was irrelevant to suspension pivot application?

I never ended up fitting Goodridge hoses because the colour I wanted was out of stock at the time. What connection do you have at the calliper end? If it is a banjo, you should be able to swap it over but you will need to use the calliper bolt that comes standard with the 785 brakes because its really long.
Pretty sure I used kit 104..
At the calliper end I have the m8 connector,
So all I would need to get is the Goodridge banjo’s? as I need to reuse the shimano bolt, I assume I can reuse the O-rings/washers?
Lever end I should be able to just swap over?
Thanks :)
GoldiggerFree MemberI’m looking at replacing my M775 disc brakes with M785’s..
I have the goodridge kit on my M775’s, can I use the hoses on the M785 and do I need to buy a connector kit?

GoldiggerFree MemberThe latest creation..
Triple XM-L2 with a b3flex..uses a 14.8v battery..
GoldiggerFree MemberDutch, sorry for the late reply..
I just let some pressure out of the negative chamber..now I get full travel.
I was going to reduce the travel to 100mm with a spacer, as the forks are on my anthem.I love these forks, so much better than the Fox rl’s I had..
GoldiggerFree MemberI fitted my new SID RCT3 120mm maxle..is it normal for new forks to not have there full amount of travel? currently there showing 100mm available, if I put a foot on the wheel and pull the bars up, that last 20mm gets sucked down.
Setup with:
+ chamber 130psi
– chamber 140psiGoldiggerFree MemberGoldigger – Member
I came accross alltricks.fr scouring google for a Rockshox SID RCT3 120mm 15mm Maxle 2012
Credit card payment kept being declined on there site, guessing thats because it doesn’t use the secure payment thing we have to enter our password into..sagepay/protx etcEnded up using paypal… Paid £380 including 2 day delivery..current price at CRC for these forks is £455
Ordered Sunday night from Alltricks.fr, Forks turned up wednesday via DPD..
Great service.. :)Although i didnt like the idea that they randonly ask new customers for ID..
GoldiggerFree MemberWill this one also fit? If so whats the difference between the 10 and 40 series?
Liking the look of the tall version, as it will look better than the cheap looking stock conical spacer..

GoldiggerFree MemberThanks for the reply’s…
Out of the 3 mentioned above, which one would people recommend.?
I’ve always liked the cane creek headsets as the one I put on my old orange seemed bullet proof.GoldiggerFree MemberAll I really need is the lower part to put on my new fork steerer..
Will probably damage the old one trying to remove it…But to be honest the lower seals aren’t to good on the stock fsa headset, they let plenty of dirt in..

German bike shops are good for price, but you still have to pay shipping to France.
For delivery in France it’s worth keeping an eye on alltricks.fr (I had some wheels off them for a very good price) and probikeshop.fr – I suspect that they’re actually the same people behind both as they often have remarkably similar special offers.
There are other places like http://sergedutouron.fr/ and rcz but the two above seem to be the pick of the bunch for price and service.

Has anyone got hold of the RCT damper to fit aftermarket to some 2010 Rev Dual Air’s thinking of doing this but can’t find it anywhere.GoldiggerFree MemberHas anybody got the 2013 Sid RCT3?
wondering if the solo air is a step backwards over the dual air on the 2012 model.I’m looking to replace the Fox F100RL’s on my anthem.
only issue I’m having is the 2013 seem to only do a maxle version with a tapered steerer! Can i run 120mm travel on my Anthem, or am i best keeping it at 100mm with a 20mm spacer fitted?
GoldiggerFree MemberGoldigger – RCT 3 are fantastic mate, just wish i’d have gone for the 120mm, they are a little stiffer than the SID Teams I had previously and are silky smooth too.
I find the problem with the fox F100Rl is that i cant get a balance between big and small bump compliance..
setting the correct amount of sag, and the fork is on the harsh side..TFtuned recommended that i used 1psi per kg of body weight…problem is the sag leaves you with less travel.
In this case a 120mm fork would in theory work better..Im still not sure if a RCT3 in 120mm would be to much travel? id rather have the maxel version, which im sure is only on the 120mm version..

I use a Hope semi integrated headset with a step down spacer, SID RCT3 100mm forks, bike handles like a dream
Andy how do you rate the RCT3? i was always wondering if they would be an improvement over the Fox F100 RL..

GoldiggerFree MemberJust recieved my delivery from Bike-Discount.. ordered on Tuesday and delivered on friday..
£64 for two 2.2 X-King protections tyres..cant argue with price or service..
:)GoldiggerFree MemberJust used 30 mins ago myself to order some X kings.. Have only read good reports for Bike-Discount.de..
Will post up when my tyres arrive..
GoldiggerFree MemberAnthem X2 they ended up on there because I bought them and put them on there..I’m not a weight Weiner lol
At nearly 16 stone I need a strong rim..
No Reba fork either, fox f100 to..
I have bobby nic 2.25 but don’t like the cornering characteristics, had them wipe out a few times. Still plenty of
room.
I’ve read that the X king measures 2.3 and seen pics of them being measured at 53mm wide..GoldiggerFree MemberI just put low friction seals on my F100 Rl’s i dont think you will notice much difference when riding..but i noticed that you have less oil on the visible part of the stanchions after a ride..I asked mojo about this and there reply was that the seal is more efficient so less oil will go past the lip of the seal..
I just looked on mojo’s site and the only seals they list are low friction seals. I got mine from mojo, i thought they listed both..Evans only have the low friction seals, the standard one is listed as discontinued for the 32mm forks.. maybe moving forward the SKF seals will be the only option?
GoldiggerFree MemberI had a chat with one of the technicians from mojo on friday..he said it really didnt matter which oil/float fluid you use on the foam rings..
So im not going to worry about that..but thanks for your feedback guys :)I did learn something else that might be off use to others..
I told the technician that when i compress the fork it was making a strange noise which sounds like a spring compressing and rubbing on something (metalic) plus i was getting a knocking noise when the fork topped out.
He asked how much i weigh, so 220lbs i told him. So 115psi in the forks.
He told me that the springs on the air spring shaft can become fatigued with higher psi which included when the bike was not in use.
Once there fatigued they can touch each other when compressed, which would explain the noise that i was hearing.
£38 posted for a new air spring shaft assembly..(Fox F100 RL 2009) Just fitted the new one.
I did compare them both, both springs were shorter and more compressed on the old one. The outter bigger spring was roughly 1 inch shorter..the inner roughly 3/4 of an inch.
The fork seems to be working fine now :)Thanks Mojo :-)
GoldiggerFree MemberAre fox F100 rl 09’s always noisy when compressed? mine sound like noisy springs being compressed..cant remember what sort of noise they made before i took them apart.
When they top out theres a clonk..GoldiggerFree MemberThanks for the replys.. I soaked mine in 10wt as per the fox instructions..
Surely soaking them in the fox fluid, the fox fluid would mix with the 10 wt oil over time? although its probably only a tiny amount and not worth worrying about…
GoldiggerFree MemberI was wondering if the fox float fluid was better as its more sticky, In theory it should stay in the foam ring longer?
This might be beneficial if you never turn your bike upside down when storing it, which does lubricate the foam rings again..I stored my bike upside down for the last 2 weeks..and lost lockout..
I had to wind off the damping completly and cycle the fork a few times to get the oil in the right places.GoldiggerFree MemberI ordered 4 metres of SP41 from CRC. It arrived in 4 x 1 metre lengths.
I’m guessing you needed more than a meter length?..
I’m in a predicament now as what was £125 for xtr shifters is now over £150..
Medline on the other hand list them with full cable set , with 10% off up to midnight…£135
The question is what’s included in a full cable set?GoldiggerFree MemberCheers andy..
This SP41 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=71510This leads me on to another question..where do i get the end caps, or do they come with the SP41 or the shifters?
For top end equipment, it sure is a PITA to get all the bits you need.
GoldiggerFree MemberI emailed crc and they confirmed they only came with inner’s.
Just checked the outers on my anthem..jag wires 1.3..
