I only go onto the Conti's as a last resort. Not the grippiest tyre in the world, but at least they still let your wheels go round! Most likely end up with Medusa's on.

Nobby Nic if its not dry enough for the Ralphs.
Medusa 1.8's or good ol' Conti 1.5's if it gets really bad!

I'm thinking of selling my '09 Anthem Advanced frame if that'd be of any interest to you?

Wally, 1/2 + a bit? SO where does £550 come from with a £2000+ frameset?
What has what I paid for it got to do with general resale value anyway?

What travel are they at now? You'll need to strip them down & take spacers out to add travel. Easy job, step by step instructions on Sram's website

The Endura Sleepless in the Saddle officially finishes at 2 pm on Sunday afternoon. Riders still out on the
course at that time will have to finish their lap before the team's lap total can be counted. Teams that do not
complete this final lap will be classed as non-finishers.

Also from the Rules emailed through

Taken from the rules emailed through with the entry confirmation.
Yes you probably can quit & get your result to stand if you cross the line at 23:59:59, but not really in the spirit of things is it?

If a racer comes in before 2pm, then the next rider on the team must leave for another lap. If you've had
enough by then, you must wait before the finish for the final 2pm horn/cannon/21 gun salute before
finishing. Lurking before the finish is allowed provided you don't get in the way.

Yes you do have to go out on another lap if you come in before 24h, you have to complete the lap you're on when the clock gets to 24 hours, not finish inside of 24h

I do as well, but according to the ATG & Fishers when I did my training on them, there shouldn't be, just greased on assembly, although having just looked at the SRAM site, they do advise 3-5ml. Must update my info. I usually use wet lube, but anything that's O ring safe is fine, so use fork oil if you've already got that out.

    goldenwonder

There shouldn't really be oil in the top air section on them? Sometimes a dash to fit ontop of the air piston to work as lube, but that's about it.
15ml in the bottom of each leg, just squirt some in when you have the lowers half on.
If you do want to put some in the top, just add it when they're back together before you put the top cap on.

The Park ones fit over no problem, I've used them for years, but found several that don't-generally cheaper versions seem to have thicker walls so won't fit over.

Yes, mine came with one as standard, no problems at all.

Try not to do too much before you stop. I made that mistake at my first solo, felt knackered four hours in!
I'll be doing two laps-have 2 mins, 2 laps-have 2 mins etc (depending on the weather)
Later on probably drop to single laps & have a couple of mins-eating every time if possible & changing bottles.
I'll have a couple of hours off during the night to get a bit of sleep-usually when I run out of light batteries or it starts raining, one or the other usually happens!

Yes Will B, I could do all sorts of things while I've got his bike, am going to butcher service it tomorrow for him ready for the weekend.

No problem, I'll try & pick one up this week if I get chance.
Am I right in thinking you know Will? As I've got his bike for a service at the moment, so can give it to him if you'll be seieng him? If not, email me your address & I'll send one out

Some cheapo cassettes have longer ones. Sunrace ones often do, might be worth asking your LBS if they deal with The Cycle Division-they're the distributors, if not let me know & I can get one for you.

Not rocket science at all, just need the relevant information if you want the correct answer!

    still too many variables,
need to know how many spokes, how many crosses, nipple length etc.
Have a look on a few spoke calc websites.

Yep-solo'ing it for the first time. 4th solo 24 though & god knows how many times at SiTS in total!

The problem often lies with how different people describe things. Many people still get integrated/internal(semi integrated) mixed up. Internal ones have cups that press into the frame & the bearings then drop into them, so the entire headset is inside the headtube.

Integrated ones have a chamfer inside the headtube itself for the bearing to sit directly on, which can be cut at either 36 or 45 degrees, depending on the design.
Hidden headset I don't know to be honest, sounds like someone's given one of the above yet a different name!

    goldenwonder

Is the frame designed for an internal or integrated? You say hidden, so I assume internal, what is the OD of the headtube? Does it come with the cups already in the frame if it is an Internal? Or if a proper integrated the bearings sit directly in the headtube-if that is the case, what angle bearings is it designed for?
As you can see, there are still loads of variables even with the details you've given.

I run a shim in my hardtail to give it a touch more flex, whether it makes any noticable difference to comfort I don't honestly know. Full size in my carbon frame as don't like the idea of shimming carbon. Probably makes no sense at all, but I don't care, works for me!

I'd walk away from that one. Give him his money back & explain your concerns.

Caliper bolts straight to the fork, unless you're running a bigger rotor than standard, then you might need an adaptor.
Inside/outside-depends which gives the neater routing, I usually go inside to give the hose a touch more protection from being caught on brambles etc.

I rang Madison & asked them before I left the shop & they didn't know why pistons/seals etc. weren't available, they just weren't!

    goldenwonder

Doubt you'll find anything in depth for the caliper as you can't get spare parts for them, they only come as complete items which is madness!

one of them said his new ride was stiffer than his Cervelo (previous Team bike)

Really isn't saying much at all, knowing how flexy some of the Cervelo's can be!
Yes alex222, I know Rob & Dave from school days! Got into riding with them around 96/97ish

Some of themare very nice indeed now.
Mate of mine races for them & he really rates the new M-Trax hardtail & thats after racing an Anthem & a Carbon KTM.
Road bikes looks very good, but don't know anyone who's ridden one in anger to be able to comment.

I wouldn't put anything carbon on the roof, it will fail catastrophically & you will die the next time you get on your bike.
    Possibly.

They're good for the price, I bought a set as a back up for Mountain Mayhem, but now use them more than my old Hope Vision HID. Rubbish mount as it fits on the bars with an O ring, so vibrates a bit & doesn't come with anyway to fasten the battery to the stem, so I just use a velcro strap. Very pleased with them performance wise though. Probably closer to 500 real life lumen though rather than the theoretical 900 they claim.

Deal Extreme for £55 or whatever you get the exchange rate at? Quite taken with mine for the cash.
