Any decent bike shop will have rolls of it.

    Not always genuine Shimano though,
Most of the shops around here have swapped to alternatives such as Jagwire/bike own brands or unbranded because of the price difference.

Genuine Shimano outer is a rip off for what it is, so most places buy alternatives, I know I do.
30m costs less than 10m of Shimano & I don’t have any problems with it.

An hour, any more if I’m actually training & I tend to fall off or start to vomit anyway.

the locating pin that goes into a hollow axel can usually be knocked out so you can use it on solid axles, check it before you go buying a new tool

I’ve just bought a Topeak race rocket & I’m very impressed so far.
Replaced the Blackburn that let me down in the dark & rain last week.
I don’t care about a ‘lifetime warranty’ I want the thing to work in the first place!!

base miles on the road, but only 40 miles or so.
Family time is also needed 🙂

a cross bike with toe overlap, whatever next 🙄

Most cross & road bikes have toe overlap to some extent, some worse than others.
My Planet X isn’t great, but not too bad, whereas my Giant TCX prototype was dreadful, handled great, but almost impossible to pedal through corners! (no idea if they changed it on the production version)

    Have a good business plan.
Declare self employed with HMRC within three months of starting
    Keep proper records of everything.
Talk to your bank, they might well have a small business advisor-I know my branch does & he’s really good, well worth paying for the business account for IMO.

*edit* Make sure the business you want to run is viable, check out the competition to make sure your niche does actually exist as you need your USP.

    1486 miles apparently-very disappointing.
Hopefully closer to 5000 this year if I can.

100 miles in mid/north wales (on road)
Etape du tour ( 3rd time in 3 years)
    Tour of the Peaks
Some ‘proper’ mountain biking, in the mountains-ither North Wales or Lake District.

    Will should be along shortly.
30 miles door to door, regardless of the weather-or so he tells me

Coed y Brenin duathlon is great fun.
Sadly only managed it once, fell on the 1st run, so only finished 10th. Had to work every other time since!
    Greta fun event.

    Cheers Tom,
I had both of them out today to give them a Christmas wash, so grabbed a quick pic on my phone. 1st time i’ve ever parked them near each other!

You can try it, but I’ve had problems this year running a long cage & the amount of grass & general crap it picks up, personally I prefer a medium cage.

Do you know what year & make it is/was?
My dad’s into them, so if i can pass on some details to him, as he knows a lot more than me about them but usually pullies & belts are always welcome amongst other things

Ben, we’ve got one here if you want one?
Although if that has been smashed up it is a crying shame, but can we have some of the ‘scrap’ that came from it???

They’re brilliant-a great addition to any fleet of bikes.
Don’t swap your mountain bike for one, get one as well as.
Remember N+1, doesn’t really matter what sort of bikes, just N+1

    I loved my old Caramba’s.
Not particularly light or stiff or even strong as they cracked but I kept them anyway.

edit-not mine, just a pic I found online, mine have got a red spider, red outer & inner ring & green middle ring! 8)

Hubs are awesome, even the cheaper OEM Onyx/Cerit/370’s are pretty good.
Rims appear to be made of cheese, even if they are fairly light-I’ve run them for 3 years on xc bikes & they seem to dent pretty easily & I’m not heavy on kit.
Can’t really comment on suspension as I’ve never run it for enough time to have a decent opinion.

They’ll be much cheaper come feb/march, especially if you’re looking for a used one as soon as the season ends.

We’re on the ‘M’ package as only wanted phone & broadband.
Ours went up from 10 to 30mb earlier this year when they installed one of their ‘superhubs’
I know some people have problems, but I’ve always had a good response from just ringing them up & asking.
(no I don’t work for, or have anything to do with virgin, just had good service)

I’d personally go for a Brian Rouke.
Friend of mine had one built last year & it’s stunning. Built to 18lb (I think), not bad for a steel bike & didn’t go too bad with the spec.

I think mine’s an 08? Red one, the same as Nobby’s only not quite as clean!
Couldn’t sell it, so currently rebuilding it as a cheap hack bike.
I’m running rubbish Manitou Shermans on it, QR for the same reason as Speeder, but they were silly cheap on ebay.

umm, the clue’s in the name really. It was designed to run 4,5 or 6″ travel forks

100mm stem & flat bars that are only 680mm wide.
I even wear lycra, helmet without a peak & usually ride without a camelback.
I’m just so unfashionable it isn’t true! (or possibly I prefer function for my riding over form)

I don’t know about that particular model, but a local club has got one or two of the Pinnacle cx bikes & they seem pretty good.
A bit on the heavy side, but ride well enough.

Cyclesport North can be quite helpful when it comes to Campag spares, always used to have stuff that Chickens didn’t IME

Check the dishing of the wheel or try another wheel you know to be right.
Also check that the axel is sat right in the dropout, assuming it’s a QR, sometimes the paint can be a bit thick to allow them to sit in fully

If its that much of a nightmare, take it to your local hand car wash, I do when it’s cold or I’m feeling lazy. £15 well spent for inside & out, washed, polished, hoovered & glass cleaned.

I’ve got 2 shimano HT2’s in at the moment, one Deore & one XT, the XT is two years old & Deore 5 months without any problems.
They get jet washed, ridden in lots of wet sand & grit (Sherwood Pines & Peak District)
I’d be inclined to agree with druidh on this one.
