Cheapo crap black spokes are supposed to be slightly weaker, but tbh I haven’t yet found out why.

Talk to the decent spoke manufacturers (DT or Sapim IMO) & they’ll both tell you they’re as strong as their silver version.

between 50mm & 110mm depending on the bike.
    50mm on the #duro bike
    90mm on the xc bike
    100mm on the cx
    110mm on the road bike.

    Old Nukeproof Mega
    X Fusion Vengeance, 1×10 XT, Hope/521 etc.
33lb on Park digital scales in the shop.

Pig of a bike, but does its job.

Poor service because they’d cashed up & you were late?
    Sounds dreadful..

Have you ever had to cash up in a shop & then do a sale? It’s a bloody nightmare & I’d have done exactly the same thing.

Hacksaw through the spacer & rivets.
*edit* Ignore me, I’m thinking SLX

What lengths do you need? As I’ve got some sat here I could do with selling of various lengths

    Certainly looks like a crack.
Is it worth trying to talk to the seller even though it’s out of the time scale & see if they’ll help?

£200 without the shock but cracked? Optimistic I’d say sadly 🙁

My TCR Advanced doesn’t have any movement. That’s a 2010 frame, but the same Vector post & never thad any issue.

    ASR5.
I’ve got a Mega & I’d say it’s a bit big for that sort of thing.

Supplied by the shop, except for the odd thing where, the same as any mechanic you have your own preferred way of doing certain things & sometimes that means a tool or two different to the norm, so I have some of my own there as well.
Over the years I’ve collected pretty much a full pro workshop’s worth, but that’s just me & certainly not the norm IME.

Have you had a look at the Ritchey ‘classic’ range?
    They’re a really nice shape

I run Racing Ralphs around both areas at 22psi & have never had a problem.
If it’s wet I’ll go for something with a touch more tread, but you never need much around either.
( Until this time last year, I lived on the back edge of Sherwood Pines, so road there often)

Mojo are the best, but then they should be.
J-Tech are awesome if you’re after a little independent.

Do you live on Westgate then old nick?
Must be somewhere around there by your description!

Looked a great race yet again-pleased i was back ‘home’ for it this year-my sister got married at the Minster on Saturday, so stayed over & watched it for a while near the white post.

    114% so all done now.
Going out again this morning to top it up & my last ride while it’s open.

all down to personal preference-even more so on road than MTB>
I personally use a Fizik Aliante as my lower back isn’t very flexible, but they don’t suit everyone.
Try the Specialized BG ones, but have the fitted service done, loads of people I know find them great, but they don’t suit me at all.

57% so far in one ride.
Hoping to finish it off tomorrow-luckily for us we’re in the Pyrenees at the moment, so shouldn’t be much of a problem!

21.8, slightly lower than about a year ago, but not as low as I’d hoped.

Try asking the shop you bought it from to contact Cube, it might take a week or so, but they’re usually really helpful.

Just remember that a warranty is the same as it is with anything else-it only stands if it’s been maintained properly-doesn’t mean it can be run into the ground for almost two years without a service & expect a repair/replacement FOC.
(not saying that’s what’s happened, just seeing it from both sides)

Give the poor thing a service if it’s that old & not been touched!
Your forks wouldn’t be working too well after that time scale, a dropper post is no different.

A service does usually sort it out.
It’s not cheap to service them because of how long they take to do-they’re fiddly things to work on.

Sounds like a seal has gone.
Full service would usually sort that one out.
They’re often overlooked, but need servicing as often as your forks to get the best out of them.
Any decent LBS should be able to sort it for you.

What makes you think your digital gauge is more accurate that your pump? Maybe they’re both wrong?

Madison’s own brand-no seriously they’re the best I’ve worn compared to Endura & Pearl Izumi, but it’s all down to personal preference

Yep, we’re heading up on friday night & have a hotel booked for two nights. Watching & riding where we can.
It’s no doubt going to be a nightmare, but we’re going anyway complete with a 2 year old 😀

Depends which way it’s been converted & headtube design. You can either use an internal cup to make it work with 1 1/8 or an external for 1 1/2 & an adaptor crown race.

    Yep, 11-25 & 52/39 on the Shropshire/Mid Wales borders.

Hard work, but I’m now fitter & a stronger climber than I used to be!

Madison Road Race for me-quality is fantastic, the best I’ve worn & I’ve had plenty to compare with!
Don’t let the own brand put you off until you’ve tried them.

Crests are fine on a CX bike, easy to get tyres on IME & not a problem to tubeless either, even with skinny cross tyres (as long as they’re tubeless)

Hope hub, mavic rim, dt or sapim spokes. Job done.
Or to save a few £££ look at the Hope Hoop complete builds-they’re already put together, but sometimes need the spoke tension checking before riding.

They’re really nicely built, well finished, excellent warranty (lifetime of pivot bearing)
They are expensive, but you get what you pay for-we have less trouble with SC than any other brand.

    My eyes!!!
Whoever set that up should be shot or at the very least banned from ever owning a road bike or offering advice on how to set it up!
MTB saddle? WTB Silverado by the looks of it (could be wrong though) about the most uncomfortable saddle possible on the road IMO, but great on a MTB.
I’m not going to go into the saddle angle, position on the rails, bar angle, Sti angle etc etc.

Although biggest issue of all surely has to be the skewers-pointing backwards on the rear & the lever on the wrong side on the front? You deserve to be uncomfortable riding it in that state.
