The voice of reason, unfortunately the “free market” needs to adjust, but the last Tory Govt. Did just that in the early 90’s and it cost them the next three elections. It’s why the “independent” bank of England hasn’t allowed interest rates to rise to prevent another “property crash”.

Biggest problem is the demographic for who votes, Govt. will screw young people into the ground for as long as their votes don’t count.

When I lived in the South, I used to do 14 miles each way into Londinium, left early enough to hit the leisure centre near the office. Shower, 2 lengths, shower, 1 mile to work (where I then got suited and booted).

But the West Lothian question is a serious issue. In much the same way as my friends north of the border complain (justifiably) that they were used as the guinea pig for the “poll tax”, they’re elected representatives were equally responsible for forcing the tripling of tuition fees on English students. They were able to do this safe in the knowledge that this unfair tax on the young (who unfortunately for them don’t vote so are an easy target unlike pensioners) would not affect their own constituents.

They should hang their heads in shame…

I tried flights to Sydney, which take me via Perth. So I thought I could fly into Perth for less and get an internal flight to Sydney (family to visit in both destinations).

It was more expensive to get off the plane in Perth than it was to wait 5 hours for the connecting qatar flight to Sydney.

Go figure….

I’ve been running with the Lezyne Alloy Drive HV for the last two years. It only goes up to 90PSI, so you may prefer the HP rather than HV if you want road use as well.

So much better than my old Blackburn Mammoth (and I liked that).

As to the shops best interest, it depends on their margins I guess, your other half buying fashion clothing from online retailers Next for example have huge margins hence their recent special dividend. They are awash with cash.
