I for one am glad he’s feeling the full force of the law.

Bradford is heavily populated with some sort of super-scroat, capable of making otherwise remarkably-talented riders like myself merely look average at best when it comes to wheelies.

This HAS forced me to move to another country where no-one wheelies, as getting the front wheel of a Dutch shopper off the ground is similar to raising an sunken ship. Also from the height attained, a Dutch person would see the curvature of the earth, and have to have a little nap to recover.

To be fair though, he won’t have been dropping off an Oz, as a he was riding a bike and not driving a S3 or GTi.

    My profile is indeed fake.

From 90 degrees I am essentially invisible, but if I told you how we beings live in your 3 dimensional space when we were born in 4 dimensional space, then I’d have to leave as I would have spoiled the mission.

It’s not often I see my mother’s line of work/work* represented on STW! She’s done a lot of work on the subject of Nestor, Thera etc…

    No.

    The differences are:
    1 – shape
2 – panning [L-R needs to be correct for SFX to follow visuals]
3 – mix [there are several common ways to mix music, it might just feel a little odd if you flip the mix]

    You won’t die.

I have BX2’s now, with a DIY sub.

Vs 109’s, umm, clearer, slightly more bloom on voice, smaller/less extension but a bit tighter. Similar treble, actually, though the BX has a clearer sound and I think less treble energy. Definitely more midrange attack and presence on the BX2…though you could also say it’s just a little exaggerated.

They’re not that different, bizarrely. Either that or my Amps are utterly overpowering the sonic signature. A friend hung my 109’s off a really high end amp and said they were improved by it, so, umm… yeah

It’s quite hard to explain, lol.

If you have the possibility of buying both and cannot choose between them I’ll dig the AE’s out and give you a proper writeup, but all I can say is they’re both good.

But, you will notice the lack of bass vs the larger speaker, or if not, then the extra distortion added by the porting on the BX2 vs sealed/ABR designs.

Having said all that, I have still got both and I think they’re both wonderful speakers. My Amps are of a similar spec to the Audiolab, if that helps.

PS, I find explaining to girlfriends that these

are the answer, but they cost the earth, works wonders with this dilemna.

    Or Q-Acoustics floorstanders, 2ndhand 😀

I can highly recommend the Acoustic Energy 109 floorstanders.

eBay often has them at a reasonable price, and as anyone who types AE109 into eBay knows the surround repair kits are also plentiful [as demonstrated in “after” pic I took they use for the surround kits :D].

If you can find a set with good surrounds [or are up for a rebuild*], give ’em a listen.
They like a kick up the arse, and an Audiolab is rated for a fair few watts, aye?

*I can send more info/pictures as to how to do it.

Food grade is used. It’s for propelling cream etc, and is fairly harmless unless you stick a bag over your head or pass out and fall.

I’d you are stupid enough to do it while smoking then you deserve what’s coming to you 🙂

It does indeed. Here endeth the lesson as to why Windows is a lame donkey.

No I haven’t tried 10 yet, it will be turning my machine into a massive spying device when i get an internet connection and I’ll probably delete it after that.

Unless DX12 is genuinely awesome with 6/8 cores. Even then…

I have a rucksack and a jacket. Bits started falling off both after a week, stitching coming lose, toggles going missing and the jacket manages to be heavy, cold, sweaty and ugly all at once.

I foolishly accepted them both as presents, and now spend a lot of time finding excuses to wear the ancient Goretex and softshell as the jacket is so bad.

    Awful. Avoid.
